The Best Stardew Valley Professions And Skills Guide
There are so many professions in Stardew Valley, and some of them seem good but there are some much better options!
For mining, pick the Miner Profession and the Prospector Profession. You will get plenty of extra resources.
In the farming skill, Pick the Tiller and the Artisan professions, This will allow you to sell your crops and artisan goods for more, making you more money.
For the Foraging Profession, always pick Gatherer and Botanist, this means you will always pick up iridium quality truffle with a chance to get double!
In the Fishing Profession i would recommend picking the FIsher and the Angler professions, you will catch plenty of fish for the community center anyway.
If you want a consistent DPS increase, pick the Fighter and Brute Profession in the combat skill line.

What odd profession combinations have you done?
Like picking tappers, and filling the whole ocean with Crab Pots.
Thanks a lot you helped me save a lot of time
Helped me out again so much I keep coming back to your channel for reference
ı cant see artisan ı have pig farm ı have to do it i can only see coopmaster and shepherd what ı have to do ?
Hey ezlilyy, thanks a lot for the great content you're putting out for SDV! Been enjoying your videos. Just a little feedback for this specific vid: Some of the visual didn't line up with what you were talking about, to a point that it got quite confusing. thought you would wanna know. Thanks again and keep it up!! 🙂
Some parts of this video are kinda confusing. Like 3:10 where you talk about the foraging professions but then show farming. Not a big deal just providing feedback. Great video, subbed.
Botanist is legendary for inventory space management.
I saw another video where it fully justified the use of acrobat + artful on a hammer weapon. Spamming the hammer's special move while spamming your attack during the animation is some insane crazy damage.
i saw someone explain how percentages work for scout (something along the lines of how if the crit chance is only 1%, doubling it will only increase it to 2%… instead of doubling your crit chance on every enemy) and it completely turned me off to the profession lol. thank god there are smarter players out there to help out with decision making cause i really thought big number meant better :/
Miner is good but the level 10 skills are just so bad that in my opinion they dont make up for it as much. Prospector is really bad as you can just buy from Clint at the point you are at now when you reach lvl 10 mining. Blacksmith isnt that great as no one makes the bulk of their money of bars and such.
If you accidentally pick the wrong profession (pretty easy to do btw), I'd recommend not unlocking the sewer and spending 10k gold, you can actually edit your save file fairly easily on any platform to change your profession, just make sure you backup your save before you edit it.
i love acrobat bc of the hammer skill
i dont even know that we can choose, what happen if we dont pick one of those?
this video has helped me pick a better profession.
1:04 Just a tip for anyone who has a beach farm like me, it would actually be better not to choose tiller and choose rancher, considering the fact that you have to hand water each crop and are unable to place sprinklers later on in the game, your animal products will become your largest source of income, so it's better to take the extra 20% early. This is just a tip for anyone with a beach farm!
As somebody who’s part of a four player co-op playthrough the lumberjack line of foraging is invaluable. Since four people are clamoring for resources at once getting extra wood and hardwood reduces the amount of grinding by a ton.
Is the tracker profession in 1.5
Oh lord- I wish i watched this sooner because i thought that the rancher upped the sale price of just animal products in general, What i mean is basicly i thought it made the cheese's and mayo sell for more- I didn't realize it was just the eggs or milk XD
For me
Farming : Artistan, because almost everything in end game sold in artistan product (cheese, mayo, wine ect)
Foraging : Botanist because first it affect truffle together with gatherer i can get like 30-40 iridium truffle from 12 pigs, also it make easier to store forage item because all in iridium quality
Fishing : Pirates, because in mid game fishing not really good as main income, but treasure still have really good stuff so wont hurt to have when i finished quest from willy
Mining : prospector in begining, because we need so many rescource, but if i feel like i have enough rescource i change it to excavator for double geode (gemstologist is good but in endgame money doesnt a problem so gems 30% worth more kinda pointless, i hope they swap it make it gemstologist lvl 5 profession and geologist lvl 10)
Combat : Brute, i like using sword, i rarely get hit, so brute is number one
when I got level 10 in farming it only showed me shepherd and coopmaster when I thought it was supposed to be those both and artisan and agriculturist
❤️🌹
I use the hammer with artful and acrobat and there is almost no cooldown with the special attackk
I picked rancher and forester and then saw this video
Rancher does increase cheese sell price
how can i improve the farm fast
W VID
I got super lucky on ginger island I found a dragon tooth in the volcano and I chose gatherer and got 2 dragon teeth
Wish this guide talked about the other professions as well
Acrobat is actually the best profession of you use hammers
Ezilly: The acrobat profession is really not good
Me: Bold words coming from someone in infinity gamer bonking distance.
