Your people's train of though has always eluded me. Why would you incur some obnoxious challenge over just upping the difficulty. Just go play calamity. Or something harder.

I liked sickle very early in regular games for the autoswing, and building housing a little faster than chopping trees. Now I just use the menu option for autoswing, to save my fingers.

butchers chainsaw in hardmode from eclipse does like 150 melee damage but its an axe technically, that could be very good

I vaguely remember beenades being good against WoF, but it seems bees in general can be good in this fight
Flare gun is on the wiki page for tools and totally cheeses Eater, but is a slog for anything else
People use weapons, Gamers use tools
