This Terraria joke weapon is unironically powerful… The Bananarang. In this video, I take a look at this early Hardmode melee boomerang weapon that despite its joke appearance, can actually be a viable option for the melee class in early Hardmode Terraria The catch is, The Bananarang is extremely difficult to obtain as it has a low drop rate from a rare Blood Moon enemy. The question is, is it worth it?

I love how a literal banana deals more damage than a ‘enchanted boomerang’ I love Terraria logic so much
alright, so rn, on a newish account on terraria, I used the bananarang on plantera, and…
it absolutely shredded her. (I also play on console.) but I used it on her and turned target lock on her, and I shredded her to pieces. although I died right after she died, I was able to collect her loot.

edit: for your info, I used no potions, I did have the moon shell, and I also used the sanguine bat summon. 🙂

I'm super lucky to get the bananarang early on hardmode
The banana rang took me half way into hard more (on normal) very solid choise, highly recommend

I defeated the twins with bannanarang
a small tip is to just build blocks over the ocean and sit in one corner after 30 secs or smth there will be very many enemys u can just use a weapon like ice sickles or just anything that keeps them away from you
you should be able to get the bananarang pretty easy
I actually managed to obtain the bananarang on my first bloodmoon on my first clown into very early hardmode its broken and yes somehow it was all four xD
I used this weapon to beat plantera in master mode
I was just randomly playing in my world and suddenly a clown dropped this banana weapon and i thought it was food and tried eating it and now it's collecting dust in my chest
Killed the twins and skeletron prime with the banana
I remember whwn i clapped all mechbosses uaing bananarang and queen slime all without potions
bro can do better dps than true nights edge and possibly terrablade.

I got the weapon on my first clown, it was 1.4.4, if that changes anything.
Just give yourself a couple of spiders and you can afk easily

I defeated calamitas clone on master mode with this weapon and i think, that it was one of the most effective

i beat all the mechs and plantera with the bananarang
i get bananarang once in my early hardmode it was really carrying me to getting night's edge
I used it to defeat mechanical boss and plantera and it's so good

Ah the weapon that Carries me through early hard mode
I unintentionally got the bananarang at the beginning of hardmode in my expert mode world, and it carried me through plantera. I, in fact, used it against Plantera and I think also a little against Golem. I set up 2 teleporters very far away from one another, lured Plantera up, and then through the bananarangs and teleported before they came back to me, causing them to repeatedly hit Plantera over and over again but never completely return to me, making Plantera a piece of cake when it worked. The first time I got it down to like 3000 health, with a significantly smaller arena, but the second time I died when it still had like 17 thousand so I was like yeah I need a much bigger arena. After doubling the size of it, I easily shredded Plantera with these pre-mech boomerangs and a flask of ichor.
What makes these even better now is you only need 1 to get the same effect as the 5 before
Im in the middle of my first world and i only beat the twins because of this god dang banana
I got it after only a couple of blood moons and after killing only a couple of clowns
I actually beat a guy that had a nights edge with a banarang
wait i got the banana rang first try and thought it was 100% chance….this was the first time i killed a clown
I used this to beat all mech bosses
it has a 10% drop rate not 3.33%. 3.33% is on old gen
The big thing with Bananarangs when it comes to bosses is that the "return" piercing also works if you're near the range limit, so if you judge your distance well it can do quite a big more damage on big enemies.
Not only that, but the boomerang movement makes it very likely that several of your missed shots will hit a moving boss on their way back, which makes it easier to aim compared to something like a Shadowflame Knife.
