Skyblocks in Terraria go back a long way, but the addition of shimmer in 1.4.4 has the potential to change skyblock maps for ever.

In this series, I’ll be trying to complete the game in an incredibly minimal map, with the only way forward being shimmer. Can I rebuild the world, growing stronger as I progress on my quest to defeat the Moon Lord? Keep watching to find out.

  1. The Bazaar Bargain is a community-created primary weapon for the Sniper. It is an ornately-carved rifle with a curved stock. A small lens is used as a makeshift scope, and a laser sight is attached underneath the barrel.
Compared to the default Sniper Rifle, this weapon has a 50% slower charge rate. However, it also features a "Heads" counter; for each successful headshot, 1 head is added to the counter, increasing the weapon's charge rate by 25%. This bonus caps out at 6 heads, at which point the weapon has a 100% faster charge rate than the default Sniper Rifle. Upon death, all heads are lost and the weapon's charge rate is subsequently reset to its base speed.
If the player kills an enemy Demoman wielding the Eyelander, Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker, or Nessie's Nine Iron, a Soldier wielding the Air Strike, a Sniper wielding the Bazaar Bargain, or a Medic wielding the Vita-Saw, the player receives an additional amount of heads relative to the stored heads/kills/organs of the enemy player's weapon.
This item was previously tested in the Team Fortress 2 Beta as the Beta Sniper Rifle 1.

  2. This video was just me going "wait where do you get wood… ohhhhh, wait where do you get stone… ooohhhhhHHHH, wait where do you get water… OOOOHHHHHHHH"
Almost like playing trick puzzle games via the shimmer, great map and vid

  3. Fun fact: This map is also completely possible in Journey Mode. You can research your starting Iron Tools, then throw those into the Shimmer until you have enough blocks. As this is (to my knowledge) the only point at which Mediumcore is required, this allows you to play the whole map without issue in Journey Mode. Just make sure you don't throw your tools into the Shimmer without researching them…

  4. Antlions in terraria normally: Die because you’re in my way. Antlions in skyblock: The best thing in the world

  5. I decided to give this a go, and I'm happy to say that it only took 33 hours (8 of which was afk) for me to kill the Eye of Cthulhu. I love this challenge, even if the early game is a little slow

  6. 12:54 wait, but couldn't the dryad already move in because you killed king slime? Or am i messing up something, I always thought dryad moved in after defeating any boss

  7. How did you get the sand, because to my knowledge sand isn't used in any potion and you can't shimmer sand
I think the only way to get sand in skyblock world is getting jungle mimic from the celebrationmk10 seed

  8. I really started this map poorly, I just have a flat platform with no vertical features other than a rope that leads to the underworld. I painstakingly killed enemies for money and kept buying anvils to get resources. It was very very slow, and I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere. Maybe I should try following along to what you did, this is my first Terraria Skyblock after all so I don’t know what I’m doing.

  9. As someone who got into skyblock maps recently this is great
I personally find skyblock maps to be super addicting cause instead of progressing by game standards
Skyblock's early forms of progression are making the world itself into a feasibly beatable state by gathering what little resources you have and working with them
It also makes me feel smart for knowing game mechanics🤓🤓🤓

Also hearing you say "We're at 30 hours of gameplay and only 1 boss has been defeated" really hit home
    The true skyblock experience
