@waffletime the witches broom is fast enough to avoid all the empress' attacks if you dont have piggy next time. menacing on all your gear, since you dont have to worry about defense. every time she does the prismatic bolts attack (the one that tracks you) she follows with a dash. when the bolts get about halfway to you, start moving diagonally up then straight up as they catch you. youll dodge the bolts, and simultaneously, her dash attack. the swords can be dodged by moving down and back and forth between them. her ethereal lance can be dodged simply by slowly drifting in a semicircle around her, but she frequently follows this up with a set of prismatic bolts leading into a sun dance (the large star shaped attack) in her second phase. if you dodge up for this one, you will be hit by the sun dance. dodge down, and slightly backwards. good luck.
