While I’ve been working towards my Perfection rating, I’ve realized how boring it can be to continue farming hundreds of Starfruit to make money. To save you from that misery, I have a list of ways to make money outside of Farming, and to my surprise a few of them end up being more efficient than starfruit!

I will never fish fok that
Man, the amount of work you put into this! Admirable. Good job.
The easiest way I make money… is making sure [166] and [74] is in my name…
Then make friends with Gus, and have a Telephone.
Call Gus the entire day over and over again…
Can easily get my name said over 500 times.
…………..
WHAT DO YOU MEAN CHEATING ISN'T ALLOWED?!
…………
ALSO… sadly this does NOT work on the Switch version of the game.
I can't catch lava eel or even octupus
Another good one for the fishing ponds is the Spooky Fish, it gives the treasure chest, but it requires a population of 9 fishes and have 0.3% chance. Still the aged roe is 280g (392g
with the bonus). If it doesn't gives you roe, it will give you a treasure chest. idk if it can be useful or not but there's that.
Is there a reason you didn't mention Gemologist when talking about the Crystalarium? It takes diamonds up from 750 to 975 and thus the gold per day up to 195, not as good as some of the other methods still but it seems like an odd choice to leave out.
making banana jelly is also good! 244g/day per tree, and you can plant the neighbouring tiles once the tree grows!
It's so funny that eel eggs are the most valuable fish product, because in real life, we still dont know how eels breed, so all real life eel farmers buy baby "glass eels" from river fishermen around the world.
ancient fruit has bigger advantage because it continues to bear fruit
you can make a TON of money from fishing for Legend II during the extended family quest! (at least in theory, before you spend the whole damn day and have it bite a single time)
on a good day, if they feel like biting, and you catch 10 of them, that's 115'000 gold in a day.
I originally thought that the quality bobber was best because then they sell for 15000 each, but then they can just outplay you with some top-bottom-top-bottom skillz, and then you just lost the single Legend that bites at all that day
I age the shit out of goat milk and make loads of truffle oil and lots of sturgeon caviar 😎
Eels require dwarf scrolls and mega bombs, should I be concerned?
Thank you for the guidelines. I think we tend to forget about the time value of money (TVM) in the meta calculations. Money that's tied up in a longer investment is unable to pay certain dividends. For example in the time it takes to cultivate a batch of cauliflower, you can get 3 batches of parnsips. If we compound the profits of the parsnips (that is, invest 100% of the profits back into parsnips), then we can effectively double the yield each cycle. That means that after 3 cycles we'd get x^3 crops using the same amount of seed (pun unintended) capital.
I hate economics.
You should have included truffle oil
i dont think you add the 6.25 days for turning it to wine as you can put kegs basically everywhere
similarily you dont add the days for the cellar things but you have a limited amount of those so its just a constant increase
during winter, the best was to make use of unused farmland is tea saplings. fill your fields with winter seeds and fiber seeds and turn them into tea saplings.
Cant you get tiger slime eggs from fish ponds
So, wait, for the Slime Hutch, when I went to go get it, it said I also needed 10 refined quartz. That really isn't a problem, but I just wanted to point it out. I know this video is a year old, so I don't know if it might’ve been different, I just wanted to say that it was slightly different from what Sal was saying.
In my slime hutch I try to keep white slimes, it's not effective but I enjoy the idea of maybe getting a few diamonds from them but I usually use them for slime balls
Preface: im bad at math and just reporting this ad lib. Sorry if my calcs are not exact.
I've experimented with a low effort animal farm. My biggest gripe with pigs is that you have to pick up the truffles. They make huge money but are high maintenance, plus cant make money on rainy days (usually a godsend anytime in the earlier sections of your game) nor in winter. They can be a pain if you are low on space on your farm or just hate how slow it is to harvest them; I get an awful mixed feeling of exasperation as I pick up the last truffle and my happy pigs keep finding more to pick up and I JUST WANT TO LEAVE THE FARM lol.
So i went with sheep. They are cute and fun to shear to get friendship up as a bonus, very satisfying to see a plump puffball turn into a handsome skinny lamb lol. Once they are high enough friendship they can produce wool daily with the Shepard profession. This also nearly guarantees iridium wool, with my happiest sheep i usually get 9 iridium and 3 gold. So long as you are petting your sheep (it's fun and usually only takes a couple hours, but auto petters are amazing too if you can manage), one full deluxe barn can make approximately 9180g per day. So if you have ten of these (lots of set up obviously but it's engaging work with animals instead of lots of planting and kegging) that's approximately 642,000g per week. And the best part is that the autograbber will shear the sheep for you, you just grab it all from one spot as you pet them. Now its 8-9a and you can do whatever you want the rest of the day. Or if you're super lazy? Pet them every couple a days or just once a week when you collect your wool. You make bank, silver wool has a great chance to become 2 cloth which sells better even without artisan, so you process anything that's not gold or iridium. That can be tedious, but i found for me, sheep were a far more fun animal.
If you want to use a lot of fish ponds as a major source of income you can greatly increase your fish growth rate by spreading them around.
9 fish in 1 pond have a 5% chance for a new fish.
9 fish in 9 ponds have a nearly 40% chance for a new fish and a decent chance of multiple fish.
I wonder why beer isnt on the lost for 420g per day. Only thing is, that you need to harvest the hop every day
Im a mid game player and my money maker is making mayo by raising a golden chicken
they will produce like 1-6 eggs per day I guess and make mayo 3x unlike reg chicken
9:46 I love ma(e)th
You say cask really weird
When fishing for lava eels I use the quality bobber for iridium quality eels.
I currently enjoy animals with:
-Auto-Feeding
-Auto-Petter in every barn
-Auto Collector
All I need to do (after the huge startup investment) is grow lots of grass and collect the products from time to time.
Sometimes I make Mayo and Cheese, but jou don't have to because the iridium Value (full hearts) is already pretty good.
I still make more money with crops, but I'm excited to see how it goes.
So pigs are better than selling mayonnaise from ostrich eggs considering they make 10 mayonnaise each?
I became rich in stardew Valley thanks to the pigs alone lol
