The accelerator is good but can be VERY weak after the mechanical bosses, the titanium railgun does +500 damage with infinite piercing, I used it until post moonlord and it is one of the best ranged weapons before yharon, and even better for defeating events (including post-providence events)
It's still my favorite ranged weapon, btw, I finished calamity ranged, with the Wrath of the Gods (if you look closely after shooting a wall, you can see the projectile, nice detail, and it doesn't even consume ammo :0)
You can actually get infinte backwards speed when spamming the railgun lol

These aren't actually early hardmode weapons, there's a rework for how you get hardmode ores. At the beginning, you only have access to tier one hard mode ores, after you kill a mech boss you get tier two, then you finally get access to tier three after the second mech boss.
As compensation, the first mech you fight will have 20% less heallth and damage, the second will have 10% less, and the last one will be normal.
