Currently trying to make one to host for me and my friends. Now that the intel instability issues are ''fixed'', would you recommend going with a 14600KF ? They're quite cheap where I live (even cheaper than the 13600kf). High clock speed as you say, but not such a high clock speed. About RAM usage also, what would recommend ? Speed ? Amount ? And are GPUs even useful ?
Since I am also planning on building one, what would you recommend for a cpu, and where can I get the server racks and the hardware? Also do I need a gpu
Currently running 4 to 5 personal Minecraft servers with mods and shit on a home server definitely recommend either using pelican or pterodactyl for easy menu reversal/file transfer
How much does cache play into response speed, so would amd x3d make it a lot more responsive, or handle the thru put of all the mods running and affects?

If you do. Please put some form of anticheat. Otherwise people like be will exploit the hell out of vanilla/modded Minecraft

Owning a server : Peak
Running a Minecraft server with a core 2 duo and 4gb of ddr3 server.
It hangs in there….
No mods though
My cpu is 3,45 something it has 2 cores
And 500 processes I don't remember how many threads
I run my mc server on my Ryzen 9 CPU and it runs flawlessly
ram is really important on secervs with a lot of mods and players

Let's goooooooo
Note: having more cores won’t help since how Minecraft is programmed, it can only take advantage of using 1 core at a time.
I run a home server using Proxmox as my hypervisor. I run a win11 VM and up until recently was running Plex on Linux, but moved Plex to my NAS.
Let's go Minecraft servers
I have a 14900k laying around in my room, would that work for a server pc?

And MAKE sure you use performance mods, some do help on server side.
