I did not just watch you give the point to Scourge over Vampire Knives.
I'll leave a link to the thread I made about VK, but I'll do a quick summary.
Vampire Knives have nothing they are competing with, they cannot be outclassed, they don't have opportunity cost, they are free to use for every class. Combined with how Terraria inherently works, you can massively boost the damage output by, ironically, using Ichor and Sharpening Station (cool little synergy they added)
They have 30 health per second. 30. Per SECOND. That is a Greater Healing Potion every 5 seconds. That is 12 times stronger than a GHP. Scourge is outclassed by other crowd control/single target weapons. This is simply not a fair comparison. Vampire Knives objectively are the best weapon in the game because you lose nothing by using it. I beat Terraria Expert Hardcore First Try while I used VK to shrug off any damage I took, because they were just that strong.

The corruption music hits hard, but if you ask me the crimson has a better design. The corruption is just a bunch of purple worms, bu the crimson's enemies and terrain look cobbled together and fleshy.
The cursed inferno debuff does not actually do 10 damage per second, it does 24 per second to enemies while decreasing their knockback resistance. However, the ichor debuff is actually more potent in higher difficulties than lower ones as each point of defense contributes to reducing more damage in higher difficulties (0.5 for normal, 0.75 for expert, 1 on master+). Still, it all comes down to what you are using, as high hit rate profits more from ichor while low hit rate is better for cursed inferno.
Also, am I alone in liking ichor darts? The debuff they apply makes it do fairly high damage due to its many hits when paired with the dart pistol at the sweet spot distance, plus the shotgun effect makes aiming easy if all you want is to apply the debuff quickly before swapping to another weapon. I find that the ichor darts pair better with the pistol's attack speed, while the cursed darts pair better with the high damage per shot of the dart rifle.
Missed 2 points for Crimson having TWO soundtracks that are better at conveying the “Evil” feeling of the biome than Corruption’s tracks.
Also missed a point for base-underground Crimson’s arena capabilities for its biome boss. Where the Corruption hides the EoW (making it harder to fight) because of it’s narrower generation, the Crimson basically has an arena already set for the BoC.
Lastly, you forgot the backgrounds of these biomes. Once again, the Crimson wins: Corruption’s backgrounds are just either cracked wastelands or purple forests, while the Crimson has some cooler ones (One of them has a dragon skeleton. No BoC-er there).
As someone who has spent thousands of hours building I just want to comment on the (notable) blocks for each biome:
– Corrupt & Crimson Grass
Crimson grass has an entirely unique look to it, giving usage in builds more than the corrupt grass which is just a recolour of regular grass.
– Ebonwood & Shadewood
Both are good & have pieces they synergise with when painted, but overall I feel Shadewood has more synergy & usage
– Ebonstone & Crimstone
Both of these are just alright honestly, pretty equal even so I have no strong winner.
– Ebonstone Brick & Crimstone Brick
Ebonstone Brick is just a darker & recoloured Sandstone Brick whilst Crimstone Brick is something entirely different & is a really good piece in all sorts of builds so it wins over Ebonstone Brick.
– Demonite Ore + Brick & Crimtane Ore + Brick
Both of these are just alright so I don't have a strong winner
– Lesion & Flesh Blocks
Lesion I've worked with much more extensively because it's overall such a nicer block, flesh can be a bit harder to work with outside of purely crimson builds.
– Ebonsand set & Crimsand set
Both are pretty good but imo Crimsand is better due to how they paint nicer & the biome tint is more universal than corruption's. Both are good.
– Ices
These are whatever
– Crates
imo, corruption's has more usage
Overall I think crimson generally has the better building materials but each biome has it's perks in that regard. Wall of text but I just wanted to leave a comment about the building side of things.
Only chuds argue about which world evil is better. True chads play on worlds with both world evils, so you have easy access to as many items in the world as possible, and as such, as much freedom in gameplay variety as possible. I wish this was an option for worldgen that isn't locked behind the drunk seed.
Relogic is adding more secret seeds next update, fingers crossed we get more "both world evil" type seeds.

My opinion has always been that crimson has better loot but corruption is more fun.
Did you really completely skip the bosses themselves? That's one of the biggest reasons people choose one biome over the other.
I've always thought the Crimson was cooler honestly. I think I just like how all the Crimson gear looks more. (I suppose it could also be nostalgia from my first Terraria world lol)
The corruption is my preferred biome visually bc I love the dark aesthetic, but I do like that each has their own pros and cons and that things like the extractinator and corruption seeds give you a chance at the other type’s items without world hopping

Crimson was added at the same time as the extra ores (tin, lead, tungsten, platinum) and all those ores were given a small advantage over their original counterparts (copper, iron, silver, gold). Because of that, I'm not surprised most of the crimson gear has a slight advantage over the corruption gear.
Corruption music go stupid. Crimson music go mildly intelligent.
i absolutely always play with both. either by seed or by mod. both evils chad vs the pick one evil virgins.

Well, Deathbringer pickaxe can mine hellstone in 2 hits (Which is faster in frames) and Nightmare pickaxe is 3 hits

I kind of feel like Cursed flasks shouldn't beat Ichor flasks only because there's a lot of points that are given for "in general" usage. And usually, when you see players buffing up, it's not to fight a bunch of enemies, but it's to fight bosses, which are one on one. Due to this, and the fact that Ichor becomes more effective the more "strikes" per second you're able to inflict, I don't think that the ichor flask was given a fair shake, as it's still effective even in the end game, but you don't often see Cursed flames being used past mech bosses.
