I've been playing Minecraft. I feel like survival is scary. Or am I just a beginner? I always die on the first night of Minecraft. T-T

I would like everyone's opinion on how you should survive the first night. I would like to take what everyone has answered and apply it to my next playthrough.

no, here since i assuming your strugling heres a how to guide:

1 get 3 wool on the first night and make a bed so you can skip the night

2 after getting the 3 wool if its still day get a lot of cobble stone to make a furnace and tools

3 kill other animal for food

4 trap 2 of the same animal to breed them

5 make a farm for a food that the chosen 2 animals eat (i reccomend cows)

6 build a house it doenst have to be fancy

    7 get iron for armor

    8 get diamond

    9 get blaze rods

    10 get ender pearls

    11 go to strong hold

    12 kill enderdragon

    there i hope this helps

Nah, the challenge comes in with the structures IF you go there, that also gets easier with skill

Yes it is, but the reason is not the difficulty of minecraft, rather my own stupidity. Accidentally hitting the ground too hard with elytra, dropping in my own minecart kill chamber, “the lava isn’t gonna tick that long”,… . There are no limits to my stupidity.

Several [Tutorials for Day One](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Tutorials#Newcomer_survival) are available on the wiki. Yes, Minecraft survival is hard for new players, because [the gameplay](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Gameplay) doesn’t really teach survival. The learning curve for surviving is steep but quite short.

    Let’s get building. Enjoy!

p.s. You’re close to a jungle (all the vines). Until you get a little more comfortable with the game, you should probably stay in the more open plains areas.

  5. You forgot

8.1 fall In lava and lose your diamond gear.

8.2 have to grind for ages to get it all back

    Also

9.1 spawn the wither by your base not realising what you are doing.

9.2 end up unable to kill the wither or get your stuff back and be up back in the Stone Age

9.3 cry. Quite a lot really.

  6. It’s hard, especially if you are playing hardcore, but if you are dying on night one there is some big issues with your gameplay. Watch some YouTube on what to do.

  7. If you can’t find sheep to kill for wool (you may need 3-4 because drop is not guaranteed) you can just dig a hole or mine into the side of a hill and block yourself in for the night.

I like to start by getting pickaxes from wood and going after any surface stone / coal. If you end up boxing yourself in, you can use wood and stone pickaxes to start digging a staircase down to bedrock. You’ll get a ton of stone for other tools and spend the night productively rather than sitting there. Also you’ll need a diamond mine later so its a good start. I wouldn’t go into any caves you hit digging down though.

That Jungle is not the place you want to be early on, specifically at night. The normal jungle usually has so much sunlight cover that mobs don’t die during the day and there’s no room to run from them at night.

  8. Surviving the first night is about building a small shelter out if wood or dirt and make a bed to skip to morning. Once you have this shelter you can spend the daytimes gathering resources and coming back to safety at night 🙂
