So it's currently 2am and I'm playing on me and my boyfriend bedrock realm and as I'm gathering flowers to make dye, I see what I think is a skeleton horse? Sure enough it is? Then all of a sudden it gets struck by one random lightning strike and four skeletons riding skeleton horses spawn?!? I was SO confused and still am honestly, someone please tell me what happened here

Wild skeleton horse. If you approach it gets struck by lightning and you get attacked
Its a special event that usually happens during thunderstorms, this is the only way to get skeleton horses, have fun getting them since the skeletons riding them are enchanted
Skeleton horse trap. If lightning strikes horse, it will change to skeleton horse. if player walks in 12 blocks radius, there will spawn 4 skeleton horses with skeletos (always with helmets). on that way you can get skeleton horse if you dont kill it.
Edit1: Veary reare that hapens naturaly but it is easier to recreate with trident (that enchentmant that summons lightning)

That’s called a ‘skeleton horse trap’, during a thunderstorm some skeleton horses can spawn, and they have a special “trap” tag, but they don’t despawn even after the thunderstorm stopped, then if you approach a skeleton horse with that special tag it will summon a lightning bolt and summon 4 skeletons on horses with helmets
It’s a reference to the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse and the only way to have skeleton horses in survival 🙂
It’s an ancient feature, that doesn’t happen very often.
