Doesn’t an end update kind of ruin the end’s purpose? It’s supposed to be *THE END*, and barren as if it was the end of all things.

I see your point OP but most people are not getting past the confusion, so to clear it up:
Red argument: barely anyone experiences the end so it should not be updated
Blue argument: if the end was updated (presumably adding more content/more fun things than a mid boss and running around on bleak islands looking for cities) then more people would go in it because it would be more appealing

I see your point OP but most people are not getting past the confusion, so to clear it up:
