When I was messing around with the carpet, I setblock the carpet three blocks up and placed the carpet, and with it like that, every time a moss carpet piece was three blocks up, the one placed manually always grew to max height.

There's a similarly complex "very specific rules to achieve it" process to get a sign attached to the back of another sign in survival that I've had burning a hole in my pocket for a couple months because while I don't want them to remove it, it's also very exciting. See if you can find it 😉
