This dialogue from Immersive Characters – Shane has me confused; any chicken owners know what he’s on about here?

Not sure which flair to use as it’s a question regarding modded dialogue – the mod author seems to know their stuff, anyway 🙂

Hi SammyFirebird79, I have re-flaired this post as “Modded” as per rule 11. See the announcement of Rule 11 [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/StardewValley/comments/t9s82q/new_rule_please_flagflair_posts_if_you_use_game/).

    > Please flag screenshots/videos from modded saves, either in your post flair (`Modded`) or in a comment (`My game is modded`). This helps prevent confusion about what content comes from vanilla Stardew Valley and what content comes from mods.

    > Mod content includes, but is not limited to:

    > – NPC, building, and animal reskins
    > – Changes to dialogue and plot
    > – New characters, areas, items, and mobs

    > Note: If game mods are the focus of your submission, please flair your post with Mods.

  3. maybe it’s refering to how chickens always keep their heads stable even if you move them around

  4. Chickens (and most birds, actually, but chickens are easy to pick up) are *very* good at keeping their head in a specific position relative to the ground, and will do so unerringly even if you pick them up and rotate them around. As someone who grew up around chickens, I *absolutely* picked up chickens to make their heads do the thing. xD

    Video example: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S486lPs_K0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S486lPs_K0)

  5. The thing with the chicken head… search for any videos! You move the chicken and they leave their heads static, I even think that thats what people based themselves when designing the anti motion cameras (dont know the official term)

  6. Chickens are basically living gyroscopes. They have an uncanny ability to keep their heads upright and balanced.

That being said, my first thought when reading this wasn’t their gyroscope functionalities, rather than the head bobbing parakeets do if you make a relatively quick up and down hand gesture in their line of sight. (Not while holding them, of course) and they quickly bounce their heads up and down as if to mimic the gesture. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen YouTube videos of it, set to heavy metal music so it looks like headbanging.

Not sure if chickens would do that or if that’s exclusively a quirk of parakeets and parrots, though.

Man, the things I miss by growing up in the city.. thanks, that’s been bugging me for a while 😊

  8. I’m going to go do this right now just because I totally pick them up to see it sometimes 😂🤣 That’s it, I’m divorcing Elliot for Shane……🤪
