  1. I thought the intent of raids is to have a dynamic system where you angered a group of illagers and now they're taking revenge on your home/village. The fact that now you have to drink the bottle to PURPOSEFULLY trigger a raid just doesn't make sense to me. And this change was made to nerf raid farms? You can't always stop players from exploiting a certain mechanic in the game, they are always going to find ways. Don't make this change to ruin the experiences of other players who are just playing the game "normally".

  2. It was the case even before 1.21. i came out of portal to villadge in level -50, so case was the same. i used it to clear debuff without milk. It's not new

  3. @PhoenixSC so wait do they drop their loot?

If so do they drop more stuff if You equip a looting 3 sword???

I wish You actually went down there and show Us if they do. . .

  4. Ok yes, logically it doesn’t make sense that the pillagers raid after the player drinks the bottle IN UNIVERSE. But for gameplay purposes, it’s a LOT better than a new player killing the raid captain, going to a village, and getting obliterated because they didn’t know how the game mechanics worked

  5. Even with the bug i think that it's a great feature and it made my life in Minecraft way better, i absolutely don't get why are y'all so upset with it

  6. 1:06 i thought the lore reason is like they have some kind of magic that sees a "pillager" drank an ominous potion showing the "pillager" found a point of interest

  7. If killing the captains gave you the ominous bottle and the effect immediately but for a shorter time than before, then it can still keep some risk of going to villages after killing a captain as well as letting you personally start raids or hard trial chamber stuff

  8. I propose a change that will vastly improve the game. Instead of phantoms spawning normally, we add a phantom raid. Whenever someone breaks the game and has the bad omen effect it will trigger.

  9. Why does Mojang feel the need to make the experience for everyone worse to stop some people from using a very clever and complex system to automate a small part of the game?

  10. I really like the implications of the ominius bottle as an optional bad luck/hard mode potion though…?
Maybe itd work better as a totem that's cursebound to your inventory can activate all these various difficulty scalings across parts of the game (Village raids, Trial Chambers obv, but also maybe a True Sculk Boss is summoned if you enter a Deep Dark/Ancient City, when fighting the wither it summons w.skele reinforcements, causes Piglins & Zombified Piglins to be naturally hostile to you, spawns Husks and Silverfish inside the Desert Temple to prevent easy looting, etc those are just ideas)
I get that doesnt exactly jive with the narrative idea of the raids being a direct response to you killing an Illager captain, but arguably it doesnt make too much sense anyways? They should be going after your base then, or ambush you at once, not just attack whatever village you happen to wander through next…

  11. I think a potential fix to this (really a start of an idea) would be if the bottles had curse of binding,, idk though bc it would be easy to just kill a pillager captain and not pick up the drops

But there could be a neat lore thing here, like the villagers keep a cursed bottle on themselves so that if anyone kills a patrol they'll be marked, but the patrols themselves won't be because they know not to open the bottle, and then the rest of the pillagers know where they are and can raid them in revenge

"Raid Omen" is stupid though, like why would you even bother changing it. It's a bad omen to open a mysterious bottle gotten from an evil person

  12. Hear me out, instead of drinking a bottle, you should get the raid omen effect by burning the Ominous Banner with a flint and steel. The smoke would billow into the air, alerting your location to the Pillagers while also angering them for disrespecting their flag, thus prompting an attack.
The raid omen effect is still tied to killing a raid captain, and it gives a use to Ominous Banners besides being a trophy. It does everything the ominous bottle does but better while also actually making sense in-universe.

  13. The ominous bottles are a nice QoL feature that I'm actually pretty stoked for because, as seen in the trial chambers, they have potential for cool challenges in other places. Admittedly, I like getting to choose when I take on these challenges and not suddenly getting burdened by them because I don't happen to be carrying the correct set of items needed to avoid them properly.

Even if it seems a little silly lore-wise (I don't think it does, but I won't get into it) they're a generally positive change.

  14. I honestly just don't like that they used a potion of all things, as if it was something you drink so the pillagers get angry. They could just use something like a raid horn, a distress beacon, or a magic totem to summon a raid.

  15. The new minecraft theory: illagers are insects and you're drinking their pheromones, so the closest pillagers come to your place for… Food, maybe?

  16. A change no one ask for (maybe some salty skill issue person, but they don't matter), bring nothing but problem, and yet still proclaim it's good thing.

I think this is A BAD OMEN for Minecraft

  17. Okay guys I know it's confusing but effects name is 'bad omen'. Its like bad luck or something. Its so bad that bottle just shatters, first village you enter gets raided and all trial spawners you face become more aggressive. Before 1.21 killing pillager captain and raids were linked but they are not anymore. Raid doesn't happen because of you killing pillager captain. You could get that bad omen from vaults or something too. They changed how it works entirely and I'm sure they left it still dropping from pillager captain just to not make old players confused from how to get it

  18. chat hear me out on this alright,
hot take, I think the ominous bottle is a good thing
yeah, thematically and logically it makes absolutely no sense, don't get me wrong
but for how people play with raids there are like 3 camp
tries to never get a raid at all (me)
abuses the crap out of the mechanic to farm tons of loot basically for free
plays the raid normally (Idk they like fighting vex spam or sth)
I am going to bullshit and say that the former 2 groups are alot more common than the latter, so the change would really mostly to deal with the abusing and makes it more convienient for those who do not want to trigger a raid

Implimentation bugs and abnormal logic aside (I mean, when has minecraft really had 100% accurate logic anyways), it is a good change

  19. I think the ominous effect is a good idea, making it so new things can happen in various places, and I think bottles should be found in trial chambers as is, since it makes more sense there, but it doesn't make sense for Pillager Raid Captains to not just give the effect to you

  20. Can't wait for Minecraft 1.22 where they rework the End to always start in the post dragon stage, so that you "have the choice" to fight the boss
