So first off, despite having played minecraft for years, I don't know Redstone that well. It just wasn't something I really looked at but with my latest playthrough I wanted to give it a look over especially in the form of a rail way as I discovered an absolute beast of a cavern I'll name Cavern #1 as it as far as I can tell is apart of at least a massive 3 part network of 3 giant caverns

That being

Cavern #1 – insanely tall and not fully explored , massive lush biome at the very top

Cavern #2 – barely explored due to Cavern #1 and a Mineshaft taking my focus

Cavern #3 – a giant Cavern with a small ocean of Lava and FULL of skulk(which you can see the entrance to if you follow the skulk. Funnily enough it has a lush mineshaft on its ceiling which is the 4th image. Which is ironic given skulk is death grown.

Anyway, I want to try and build a full rail line that can help make moving around easier/less food costly as well as safer especially in hauling stuff back to my base camp especially when my biggest worry is getting a surprise arrow sending me falling to my death

I have a small basic one that allows easy access to near where the mineshaft is with a lil switch system(not shown in the screenshot as they are older) that allows me to swap tracks so I can easily park one normal minecart and a chest cart

TDLR:I'd love advice on how to make the rail way really work in 3 huge caverns, whether it's more seamless with the Cavern or like how I have it in the screenshot I'm fine either way!

Thank you for your time especially if you read all of it!

It shouldn’t be to hard. Just place some powered rails around. I would love for you to take inspiration from the MFPNP ARG.

  2. From a design perspective… Instead of building a weird bridge through the cave like you did, I would try to carve out a little channel into the cave wall that roughly follows the shape of the cave. Like [this](https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Sandstone-cliffs-near-Guoliang-China-Tunnel-overhang-with-no-support-measures_fig3_275433297), [this](https://www.flickr.com/photos/allard1/5854493416) and/or [this](https://www.langdale-associates.com/australia_2011/part_2/pic_70.htm). And only have bridges where it’s necessary to cross to the other side of the cave. It’ll also play well with height changes.

If you don’t like how often your rails need to change direction in order to follow the curve, you can try to widen the corridor a bit.

It’ll feel a lot less intrusive, imo. 😀
