I Spent 100 Days Maxing Every Skill In Stardew Valley

you know growing up I had a Nintendo 64 with a little game called Harvest Moon I’d spent hours on it growing eggplants meling the cows and trying to marry Karen the local bar waitress as I grew up I moved into other games like Star Wars Battlefront 2 Call of Duty and Madden and that was just kind of my life up until around a few years ago when I discovered stardew Valley just like that all the Nostalgia came flooding back in and I fell in love with the game so today I figured it’d be a fun challenge to hitch a ride back into Pelican town and spend a 100 days attempting to Max all five skills also I want to make it clear before we get into it I’m an idiot I have like 30 hours in stardew most of them coming from a single playthrough I’m not some minmax turbo nerd at least when it comes to stardew I’ve realized that I get the most enjoyment out of the game when I take a more relaxed and Casual approach so please just keep that in mind when you watch me make a dozen mistakes and just skate past them chances are I don’t even know what I’m doing outside of a general plan as to how I could make this work this was all super surface almost no research went into this it’s just here’s an idea I’ll figure out the rest later also also I hate doing this but it works so if you’re not subbed I don’t know maybe do it so you can stop missing out on shitty dad jokes and over-the-top Antics mindless ramblings and I don’t know whatever else I come up with for this challenge we’ll be following the great Clive he’s got a nice little farm properly named so as not to Spook the locals they need to know we’re here for only the most honorable of professions kicking off the first day of the the challenge I went ahead and planted the 15 parsnips I received as a gift from the town once that was taken care of it was off to raid people’s homes to violently introduce myself to everyone and spend all of my cash on potato seeds if you’re unfamiliar with stardo Valley there’s about 30 towns folk here so I’ll spare you all of them and show off a few starting with the big titty goth [ __ ] Abigail fun fact my first time playing stardew I spent almost the entire time just force feeding her quartz in an attempt to marry her because she eats rocks for some reason something about those theater kids I tell you anyway after her we have lonus serving as the local skid resident he’ll be thrilled to know that I found a rusty spoon in the dirt so he’ll finally have something to heat his crystals up on later next up is Gunther he’s your typical Reddit mod incel with impeccable fashion last but not least we’ve got good old boo bag Pam at the time of writing this I got her around 30 hours in starter Valley and the only thing I know about Pam is that she’s the town drunk who spends more time hanging out at the than she does with her own kids that end she drives a school bus with what time was left in the day I went home and planted my potato seeds before chopping down a few trees to build my first storage chest in case you’ve been living in Pelican town for the past few months once human is a post-apocalyptic open world survival shooter and one of the most highly anticipated survival games on the market right now I much like all of my friends have had it on my wish list on Steam for months now and it just released on July 9th but don’t worry it gets even better outside of that the big appeal to me was just how immersive the world was the map is over 250 square km and it’s packed with quests bosses and some absolutely insane looking creatures like just check out this boss named the siren there’s so many others as well like The Wanderer not only is it on Steam but it’s entirely free to play I know that can sound a bit scary since free-to-play games are usually loaded with microtransactions but don’t worry all purchases in one human are purely cosmetic which means no pay to win that’s one of the only holdups I had initially but it was a breath of fresh air to find out that all the gear and equipment is only available through in-game progression for example when you first place a campsite you have the option to craft a crossbow but later on you’ll get to take on bosses for greater loot drops the crafting system is fairly in-depth too requiring you to explore the world and collect resources in order to craft things like antibiotics juices daggers and armor if bossing isn’t for you though don’t worry you can partake in some other activities like hunting taking a Scenic Glide around the map building your own base or you could go catch some deviations one’s human pet system these guys are actually really cool and can help out with things like fighting bosses which I thought was really unique on top of the massive world to explore there’s also these beautifully designed pois like the abandoned radio stations there’s nothing quite like rounding a quarter in a decrepit building only to be jump scared into a heart attack by again to Once human for sponsoring this video now let’s get back into the shenanigans the next morning I received a letter from Willie to come down to his house for a gift while this all plays out I want to talk real quick about the skills so as I said in the intro there are five major skills in stardew Valley those are farming fishing foraging Mining and combat obviously the only way to level them is to do them but some are much easier to level than the others skills like farming and Mining are incredibly easy and barely require any work to do fishing is a little more active but still one of the easiest skills to Max that brings us to combat and foraging foraging will be the most tedious but there really isn’t much we can do about that we’ll just have to do loops around the farm each morning and make sure we aren’t missing anything since the only way to level it at least to my knowledge is by grabbing items off of the ground all right now that Willie gave us his fishing pole and guilt trips us into buying [ __ ] from his shop every once in a while it’s time to get started on that so here’s my plan I’m going to look to knock out fishing as fast as possible here that way I can use the fish as food for when I go to the mines the mines are where I’ll do most of my fighting I’m not going to try to get to the desert area in this run since I’m solely focused on skills so that really leaves me with just the mines to work with on rainy days I’ll spend the entire day fishing on bad days I’ll head into the mines for that entire day farming will level up without me doing anything other than harvesting my crops but that’ll be important as it’ll burn energy and I’ll be relying on that as my money maker for now so while we’re fishing allow me to explain the XP system for those that don’t know you get XP for for catching a fish but that varies by several factors first is the type of fish each fish has a different difficulty rating the more difficult the higher the XP reward that’s also the case for things like mining with Gem and or veins giving higher XP than just Stone but back to fishing for a second on top of the normal XP if you get a perfect catch you’ll get an additional boost treasure chests also give a boost when it comes to the legendary fish that you can catch those give the largest multiplier giving you a five times the normal amount of XP the types of fish vary by location and season so you can catch freshwater fish in the ponds and rivers while catching saltwater fish next to Wily’s cabin on the docks you can also catch fish at a faster rate when you see a school of them forming in the water it’s just a bunch of bubbles that’s really hard to miss but to keep it simple the goal is to just get as many perfect catches as possible we can give Clive a better chance with things like better p and bait and different Bobbers but for now we’re just focused on catching anything and after spending most of the day showing Willie that size does matter I returned to the farm and dumped off some of my food into the chest I’m just focused on stockpiling as much as I can for now so that I can use it in the mines later on you know some people might call that a survivalist plan it’s day three and we’re officially on the board with our first skill point I also have a furnace blueprint courtesy of Clint which we can use to smelt some copper bars and upgrade our tools now it is raining on day three so I’m going to take the internet’s advice and fish from the river in order to try and catch some catfish before I do that though I stopped by willly shop to sell some fish and purchase some beans only to be reminded that the shop is closed on Wednesdays because of that I spent the entirety of day three Just Fishing up at the river by linus’ tent [Music] w [Music] [Music] after dropping off an inventory at the farm I went back out and managed to catch several more fish leveling me up to fishing proficiency to an unlocking bait I’ve also decided that I’m going to start selling the common fish and keep the silver gold and aridium for now I figure that way I won’t be overcrowding my storage chest after waking up on day four I spent the morning working on clearing out my farm some more so that I didn’t look like an abandoned meth lab I also leveled up foraging from this since you gain foraging XP from chopping down trees that’s something we can keep in our back pocket for later once we start checking off some skills while clearing up the farm is incredibly satisfying it’s also exhausting and by 10:00 a.m. I was almost entirely out of energy having to dip into my fish supply just to make it through the day that being said the entirety of day four was spent on the farm after clearing out the area I went to town and bought 15 bean starter seeds they take 10 days to Gro so I can get two full harvests out of them if I keep up with with the watering I kind of up here though since I didn’t know I needed to plant them in line since I can’t walk over them the way I could with parsnips and potatoes it’s not the end of the world though it’s just going to be annoying to water and I already lost one plant after trapping myself in the middle after getting through that mess I spent the rest of day four waiting outside this house to introduce myself to Haley the last member of the town that I still need for the intro Quest and with that taken care of I went back and crashed for the night leveling up foraging I woke up on day five to find Marne at my door for whatever reason she just wrangled in a stray cat and threw it at me in an act of defiance I named it dog so that everyone in town knows I don’t play by the rules after becoming a cat dad I harvested my parsnips and sold them to buy some beans the cool thing about beans is that you only have to plant them once and they keep harvesting them every couple days saving you a ton of cash in the long run once I got back home I stomped the bean seed things into the dirt and spent the rest of the day fishing get used to the second half of that sentence by the way you’re about to hear it constantly throughout the spring and part of the summer [Music] [Music] by the end of day five I’d leveled up farming to level one and fishing to level [Music] three day six was a big day for us the spirits were in good fortune so I watered my crops and set off for the mines after grabbing the starter sword I killed my first bug meaning I’m a hero now everyone’s super stoked about me probably the coolest dude in town if I do say so myself going to go Lar on Reddit now for a little bit anyway the Big Focus much like any other time you enter the mines was just to get through as many floors as possible in the time that I had that being said though I still took a few minutes to search and mine copper on each floor since I need or for the furnace and to upgrade my tools a few hours into the Dungeon Crawl I killed a gold starred slime ball and got a wooden Club as a reward it’s way better than the sword I was using and it’s got a power swing if I right click so obviously I just switched to that [Music] by the time I called it quits I’d made it down to level 10 not a huge accomplishment but certainly a start moving on to day seven I checked in with my local medium to find out what the spirits were all hung over so I headed outside to harvest my potatoes this is going to end up giving us a substantial payday that we can use to either reinvest in more seeds or go do something else with like buy a better fishing pole naturally we came up just short of the 1800 needed for the fiberglass pole and instead of catching literally one single fish I just said and went back to buy a [ __ ] ton of seeds naturally planting and watering all of them took a few hours but when that was all finished up I did a little foraging run finding a whopping one wild horse radish I should probably note here that I completely forgot about the entire Southwest portion of the map don’t worry I remember it exists later on but something about day seven just really threw me off day eight was short and sweet I spent literally the entire day fishing both up at the river in the hills and down by the [Music] docks oh and even with all that I still didn’t level it up the next morning I sent $7,000 to the local medium who informed me that the spirits were in a good mood I was also able to harvest some carrots that I found in the mines a few days ago normally I’d sell them but they give give a ton of energy so I’m going to keep them for when I go into the mines oh also now that I’ve got all these crops it burns through around 120 energy per day just to water them all when that was finished it was back to the mines like every other early 1900s blue collared small town man was doing at the time only with these mines you can walk away with more than just lung [Music] cancer by around 2:00 I’d reach level 15 and the very next floor was a slime four which is great for combat it’ take another 3 hours or so before I reached floor 20 though there’s a chest here that gave me a sword but the club I’ve been using has better stats so I’m going to keep using that by the time I’d left the caves I had more than enough copper for a furnace so I’ll get started on that tomorrow time the night I leveled both Mining and combat up to level one meaning we’re officially on the board with all five skills day 10 started off with a crow eating one of my potatoes so I built a scarecrow to deal with that predicament from there I made two furnaces and smelted a copper and iron bar with both of them now I’ll just have to keep farming copper and soon I should be able to have all my tools a perfect shade of rusted orange after spending the rest of the morning watering all my crops I set back out for the mines again reaching level 25 late into the afternoon [Music] by that point I’d gathered around 30 or so copper over so I decided to just head back and spend the rest of the day smelting it into bars and by that I mean I smelted a whole two bars before I went to bed [Music] I woke up on day 11 to find out that plain Toto’s Africa does in fact work miracles since it’s been a few days since I went fishing and I’ve got some cash now I made a 100 bait using the monster meat I’d collected and then made my way down to the docks where I purchased a fiberglass pole it’s not a huge step up from the initial pole you start with but it does make catching fish just a little easier I don’t really care about the type of fish I catch at the moment as well only that I’m actually catching them one thing I don’t remember being in the game The Last time I played it is these rare sea jelly things that boost your energy and give you a whole level in fishing for 7 minutes just a really cool thing I’m I’m sure they did exist in the game and I just missed them last time but I don’t know I just figured I would mention it here anyway when I got bored I sold all those fish and moved up next to lonus for the afternoon [Music] [Music] you know if this was Minecraft my nephews would be so psyched right now after some more fishing I sold what I’d caught and moved back to the docks to finish off the day resulting in me hitting level four for [Music] fishing the next morning I found some cookies waiting for me in the mailbox so I grabbed those harvested my carrots then hit up Pier shop to purchase the first backpack upgrade giving me an additional 12 slots the egg Festival is tomorrow and I was really just looking forward to that so I ended up just spending the rest of the day clearing out more of the farm day 13 was massive for me all of those potatoes I bought a while back well they’re ready for Harvest since I’m an idiot and forgot you can just sell them at the festival I toss them in my bin by the house normally not a big deal until you remember that the festival allows you to buy strawberry seeds another component that I completely forgot about anyway it’s time for my favorite part of the egg Festival the hunt sure it’s against literal children and I’m the only adult participating but welcome I like to imagine he looks like those dads who go to baseball games and rip foul balls out of the little kid’s hands that’s the type of energy Clive brings to the function and don’t even get me started on winning this event do we have that SpongeBob gift just sitting around when he thinks he’s the manager let’s let’s slap that in somewh around here anyway I ended up leveling up farming twice from harvesting all those potatoes so good end to a good day moving into day 14 I walked outside to find that my first set of beans was ready to harvest I’m planning on keeping the gold ones as food for the mines but I’ll probably just sell the rest me too dog me to with the cash I made from selling the beans I purchased 60 more potato seeds by the time I’d finished planting them I’d used almost all of my energy for the day I also need 2,000 to upgrade my watering can so I’m going to end up selling a ton of stuff to see if I can get that started in the meantime I hit up Gunther’s Museum and donated some more artifacts which earned me an ancient seed and the recipe needed to make more of them outside of that I ended up selling a ton of [ __ ] around my farm only to end up five gold short because of this I also sold a copper bar to get me to the 2,000 needed for the upgrade I wanted to get this done today because it takes 2 days for the upgrade to finish and since I already watered my crops today and it’s going to rain tomorrow I won’t end up missing anything the next morning I checked in with the local fortune tellers who informed me that the spirits were in a good mood today so it looks like we’ll be mining some of my beans were ready for Harvest so I grabbed them and selling the common ones and keeping the golds for energy with my guard intended to I spent a good hour or so forging before heading into the mines I will say normally I’m just focused on reaching the bottom as fast as possible but now that I need to max out mining I’m really trying to hit as many stones as possible for loot I’ve also been trying to take advantage of the mob floors like level 28 which looked more like a Nickelodean set than a [Music] cave I’d reached floor 30 by that afternoon and tried to keep pushing on before realizing that a severe lack of torches was holding me back [Music] [Music] with another good day in the books I hit combat and Mining level two I’d imagine that both of these will continue to level hand in hand until we get to those deeper floors in which case mining will take precedence on day 16 the spirits were in good moods again but we’ve got other business to attend to for starters my watering can is ready to be picked up since Clint doesn’t get out of bed until 9:00 a.m. I did some foraging to pass the time now that I’ve got a copper watering can it was back to the farm to try it out and after some more foraging of course with the crops all watered I hit up the woods to the South for a massive foraging Hall in total I pulled in 24 items from just this portion of the map oh and I also got to meet Aaron Rogers which was pretty cool not every day you get to meet a celebrity hiding out in the woods since it was too late to really do anything else I spent the rest of the day clearing out my farm some more [Music] after waking up the next morning I harvested and sold some more beans before crafting copper bars I wanted to upgrade my pickaxe today but the store is closed so I couldn’t sell anything unless I used the Box by my house all my daily tasks completed I grabbed my fishing pole and headed into town where I found a bubble spot to sit at this was arguably my best day of fishing so far and I managed to catch three straight aridium fish once the bubble dissipated I moved out to the docks where I caught some more Golds and another four aridium fish selling everything for around 1,000 gold this ended up getting me to fishing level five to end the day obviously I chose the profession where I earned 25% more from fish immediately making me regret the fact that I just sold like 15 to Willie just hours earlier moving into day 18 I repeated the last few days and harvested some more beans before heading into town to purchase 10 more potato plants I also stopped by Clint’s shop to drop off my pickaxe to get that upgraded to Copper since I’d had such a big haul the other day I wanted to go forging again so I went right back to the woods in the South and pulled off the largest forging run I’ve ever had while impersonating Nomad I ended up walking over Robin’s lost Axe and was able to return it to her that same day I also hit farming level four today which unlocked preserves jars that I’ll use this summer I couldn’t find any info on it but does anyone know if you get additional XP from using preserved jars or is it just transforming items for no XP if you know please let me know because I seriously looked for like 45 minutes one day and couldn’t find anything on the topic day 19 was pretty quiet I still need to wait another day for my proper pickaxe to be completed so after watering all my crops I headed up to the mountains and spent the day [Music] fishing day 20 brought a massive Harvest we’re talking all of the potatoes and even a few [Music] beans also we’re officially 20% of the way through this challenge so here’s a quick skill check so far I have farming level five so I should be able to choose a profession at the end of the day outside of that I have mining forging and combat all level two with fishing at level five not a bad start but I feel like I’m way behind where like a veteran stardo Valley player should be or would be at anyway I went on to sell the Harvest getting me up to almost 10K from there I hit up Clint to pick up my pickaxe since I’ve got all this cash just sitting around I decided to head back to Pierre’s and do one more massive potato run instead of buying the final backpack upgrade obviously it takes a ton of time to plant 195 potato seeds [Music] to end the day I grabbed the tiller profession for farming level five I woke up on day 21 to find it raining thank God originally I was planning to head into the mines but the spirits are all pissed off so I just went fishing instead my goal is to finish up fishing before summer but I’m not sure that’s going to happen now that I’m becoming an Irish farmer regardless I’m just going to keep selling all the fish I catch because I’d like to set up a sprinkler system in the summer and with the potatoes taking up all my free time I’m going to just have to buy the items I need to make a dozen or so sprinklers by the end of day 21 I’d hit fishing level six on the 22nd day of spring I woke up to find Demetrius sitting at my front door evidently he’s decided to just take over my cave or gentrify my cave as he called it in all seriousness I chose the fruit bat cave for the forging XP though looking back it probably should have been smarter to use mushrooms for those purple ones since they can fully heal you at those higher grades currently it takes me around 5 hours for watering cans and over 300 energy to water my potatoes in the morning when that’s all finished up I just went back to fishing [Music] Wily’s got some new fishing rods for sale so I wanted to check those out the flower dance is also tomorrow which is always a blast because you just sit in the corner by yourself so can’t wait for that to change up the pace of it I swapped over to chopping down trees for the day instead of fishing for once moving into day 24 I got my day started by harvesting some more crops the only issue right now is that Pier shop is closed so I’ll have to sell all these via the junk box next to my [Music] house anyway it’s time for the flower dance this always reminds me of that dance in uh it’s the fourth Harry Potter Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire you guys remember that movie where they’re all just like sitting there and everyone else is dancing or like Napoleon Dynamite when he’s just at the prom by himself and it’s just awkward good times good times all right this is taking forever much like the previous days when I wasn’t spending my entire day watering I was [Music] fishing it’s hard to argue with the results though since I hit fishing level s This Day Day 26 brought another massive Harvest and when I say massive I mean like 150 potatoes [Music] massive not only is that going to make me Rich but it also just added the benefit of no longer having me take a third of the day to water my crops with that out of the way I switched Focus to fishing making some more bait and buying a cork bobber [Music] that massive potato Harvest also leveled up my farming again allowing me to make quality sprinklers after harvesting the remaining potatoes and beans on day 27 I started prepping for preserve jars I need wood Stone and coal for them all of which are easy to gather with coal being the most difficult but once I reach the dust Sprites and the mines I can just Farm them for a few days that’s nothing compared to what’s needed for Quality sprinklers however I don’t see myself getting many gold bars anytime soon so for now I’m just going to focus on regular sprinklers since they only need iron and [Music] copper with that I went over to Clint to purchase a ton of iron since copper is just so easy to get in the mines at this point with the iron purchased it’s back into the mines for good old Clive [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] to cap off the day I leveled up farming to seven and Mining to three we’re on the last day of spring so I don’t really care about fortune or anything there’s not all that much to do today except to wait for tomorrow so it’s back to the mines for another day of gathering copper now throughout the day I hit level 40 n45 in the mines and can now Farm dust Sprites for coal as needed which will be nice in the evening I found myself back at the farm smelting copper and iron bars to make sprinklers with we’re officially Into Summer now someone go call Kenny chzn and let him know with all the iron and copper i’ collected I crafted 10 sprinklers now I doubt this will be enough but I’m going to wait to craft more until I see just how many seeds I’m able to [Music] purchase once Pier’s Shop opened up I walked in and purchased 60 blueberry seeds planting them around the [Music] sprinklers here’s where I up though see I bought a [ __ ] ton of copper to even out the iron I had to make more sprinklers but completely forgot about the fact that you need coal in order to work the furnaces oops it was raining on day 30 so I’m just going to spend the entire day fishing when I got bored of that I sold all the fish I had caught and then moved into the woods to the South to do some more foraging getting me up to foraging level three [Music] oh looks like the slay sisters were passing through I have one of those things you find at Barnes & Noble so I read that before heading over to Clint to just capitalism my way out of hard work with the recently purchased coal it was back to smelting bars now while smelting I also started chopping down trees because the iron bars take for ever to smell compared to the copper ones I’m going to be honest I completely forgot this place existed anyway with all the bars I’d smelted I was able to craft 10 more Sprinklers and a bobber for fishing day 32 more rain which means more fishing one thing I noticed up here is that when I fish in the bubbles I only get standard fish no stars but when I move out of the fish bubble I start catching higher quality fish which I thought was weird also sturgeon [Music] I ended the day by hitting fishing level 8 day 33 it was a weird one while waiting for Piers to open I chopped down some trees and did some light forging but here’s the problem I’d taken a short break from recording and forgot to unpause for the rest of the day today so allow me to explain what happened first I bought and planted more blueberry seeds super exciting stuff I know then I finally carved out a path for my farm to the fields in the southwest before purchasing a rare seed from the vendor in the woods it’s day 34 which means it’s time to learn some new things like for example did you know that wild seeds are the easiest way to get a ton of forging experience because uh I had no [ __ ] clue so that’s what I’m going to focus on from now on equipped with that information I collected some fruit from the Batcave and then set off to throw a bunch of random [ __ ] at Gunther since it was taking up precious inventory space he gave me some cauliflower and melon seeds as a reward so I went back home and got the melons planted before spending the rest of the day continuing work around the [Music] [Music] farm I was completely B Boozled on day 35 when I spent 800 gold on a single summer seed from the traveling cart Merchant for some reason I thought it was a pack of 10 but no it’s just one single seed for 800 gold I also bought another rare seed and learned that there’s skill books that give you XP which is awesome with the morning events out of the way I went back to the mines for some more grinding this turned out to be a great day for combat since some of these floors were absolutely loaded with Mobs the only problem is that I’m horrible at combat at at least right now so I found myself constantly retreating [Music] and even with that I was able to hit combat level three to close out the day well the spirits are hung over again so guess I’m fishing today I lasted a few hours up in the mountains before getting fed up just catching sturgeons so I moved over to the beach where I donated some wood to fix the bridge with the bridge fully repaired I can now attempt to catch the legendary Crimson fish it’s like the Crimson Chin but [Music] fishy on my first attempt I got absolutely cooked there there’s not even any denying it it was it was bad I wasn’t prepared at all but let me tell you the second attempt I’ll take a a win like that any day of the [Music] week day 37 was a huge mining day I started the day off with some quick foraging before heading on over to the caves throughout the day I managed to make it all the way to floor 55 and collect a few out of these such as Tundra boots as a reward for hitting floor 50 [Music] I ended the day by hitting forging and Mining level [Music] four now I started off day 38 by smelting various bars my plan is to go buy a ton of copper because I’m too lazy to mine it and the ghosts are pissed off today once I got to Clin though I also tossed in my axe to upgrade it since I’ll need that to get into the Hidden Forest area later on when I wasn’t smelting bars I was raiding the fruit back cave and taking their massive stockpile for my own personal gain just as the founding fathers would want day 39 was the big luau now I’ve been told you can poison the potluck or add trash to it and all that fun stuff but as much as I’d love to I felt compelled to toss in an aridium fish for good faith the notion of poisoning the soup is hilarious to me though because it’d be like an attempted assassination on the Governor from the citizens of pelicant town which which I think is just at least a little funny the book seller came into town on day 40 and my copper ax is ready so there’s that unfortunately I don’t have any cash to go buy some skill books because my blueberries aren’t ready to be harvested yet so I guess I’ll just have to pass on them this time which really sucks because some of these books are insanely op since I’ve got nothing better to do with my time I went back to the mines reaching floor 60 by that evening and retrieving the crystal dagger before heading to bed and leveling up combat to level four it was raining on day 41 but instead of fishing I found myself back in the mines going to war on slime creatures and ghost things I will say this Crystal dagger slaps with my trusty dagger I managed to reach floor 70 Men read a monster book for a chance at Double the loot before turning in for the night day 42 brought on the first blueberry Harvest of the summer before that though I got a letter from boo bag Pam my throat’s about as dry as a desert bone oh my God Pam how much of an alcoholic do you have to be to write someone a letter asking them for Booze what a woman anyway we’ve got around 130 or so blueberries but I only sold the starred ones keeping all the normal berries for myself see I could sell them and make a [ __ ] ton of cash but why do that when I can turn them into preserves and sell them for more money with that in mind I spent the rest of my cash buying coal to combine with wood and stone to make some preserves jars I actually ran out of wood first and almost killed dog by dropping a tree on his lazy ass but by that afternoon I’d set up four preserves jars and had them filled and operational the goal is to eventually have like 20 of them though so I’ll need more supplies to make that happen after setting up my preserves jars I crafted 20 summer seeds and planted those to help with foraging shout out fruit bats for making that possible I know I said my goal was to finish fishing in the spring and now we’re halfway through summer so I’m going to go get that done before that though I went over to gunthers and gave him some more crystals and minerals in return he gave me some starf fruit they take 13 days to grow which would put us on the last day of summer but I wasn’t sure if they need an extra day to harvest so I decided to just hold on to them for now and plant them next year because I’ll probably keep this playthrough going after the challenge ends anyway I do recognize that we’re about halfway into the challenge and it’s been mainly fishing but I promise we’re almost done with it and then you can watch me I don’t know stare at a wall and chop down trees for another 40 Days how exciting after a long grueling day of fishing I didn’t want to get too stressed out or overworked so I decided to take the afternoon for myself and have a little spa day at the bath house just up the road no one tell Robert Craft about it though you know it’s tough cosplaying as a retired dad ah didn’t know Stu Valley was sponsored by Nick MKS on the way back home I found two grapes so I was able to make 20 more summer seeds and get those [Music] planted the same general game plan was repeated on day 44 I’m just trying to get fishing out of the way at this point it’s not even that I don’t enjoy the skill it’s one of my favorite things to do in stard but I just want to be able to cross at least one skill off the checklist before the halfway mark well on the grind for level 10 fishing I did happen across a quick min max guide that explained a ton of this and I wanted to share that I know the game’s been out for a while and this is probably common knowledge to a lot of people but I’m sure there’s at least a handful of people who are pretty new to the game and have these kind of questions and I’m on the side of the more info we can spread the better everyone is because of it so the post is by Iceman a and he breaks down everything on how to get fishing 10 in like 11 days I wasn’t overly concerned for that specifically so I Tred to take some key points those being that the bubbles in the water drop the time for a catch from 0 to 40 down to 0 to 10 minutes so you catch way more fish with them well it’s pretty obvious at face value I thought it was really interesting to see just how drastic it was he also explains that catching perfects and catching chests ultimately give the same amount of XP so if you can get a chest you should go for it and break perfect just because you’re bound to get some quality items from them on top of catching the fish that’s more personal preference than anything but I did agree with that mindset of you’re going to get the same XP regardless so you might as well get some cool gems and resources out of it as well as the fish they also break down a ton of the XP rates for catching specific fish and when to rotate to different ponds for higher chances at catching things like catfish and that even a normal imperfect catfish will give you more than some perfect catches for regular fish he ended up hitting fishing level 10 on Day N so I figured if I just applied that thought process of fishing until midnight every day and then only selling at the end I’d be much more successful in this approach and it wouldn’t take 50 plus days to get it done going into day 45 I just hit fishing level 9 so after watering the extra crops and crafting a new chest to hold my fish I set off back to the mountains to get a quick pool party in before heading over to the pond to continue fishing at around 300 p.m. I got the best news possibly of the entire playthrough that being a rainbow trout frenzy in town which allowed me to just Farm the bubbles all day [Music] [Music] all right day 46 what a big day for the playthrough first look at all these blueberries that we get to harvest second I crafted another 20 summer seeds meaning we up to 60 now all of which are going to be used to boost our [Music] foraging after selling these silver and gold blueberries I still had almost 200 regulars to add to my collection bringing me up to 351 blueberries to make preservatives out of after I wrap up fishing all my focus is going to turn to making as many jars as possible so that I can get that started speaking of fishing as soon as everything at the farm was order it was back to grinding and at the end of the day finally after 46 days of work I hit farming level eight outside of another 20 or so blueberries and two summer squash I plan to just spend the rest of the day fishing so I could finally get to level 10 before that though I hit up Clint so I could have him start working on upgrading my pickaxe again with that out of the way I hit up Willies and bought 50 more bait and a spinner to give me better catch rates after about 10 hours or so of constant fishing I pulled in a chest holding a fishing book I went ahead and read that but didn’t get any notification saying I’d leveled up so it was back to fishing for another 3 hours the next morning I H up Willies to buy some more bait and another spinner before spending the entire day yet again fishing of course as soon as I got to the mountain spot the bubbles there disappeared leaving me to fish in the open Waters that afternoon I found another bubble spot nearby and grinded that out until I received the following notification and with that we’ve officially maxed our first skill of the playthrough only took 48 fuing days to wrap up today I got some foraging in which allowed me to make and plant even more summer seeds bringing us up to 80 total seeds obviously I went with the angler for my final fishing profession which gives another 50% boost to profits allowing me to dump that entire box of fish sitting next to my bin thank God because the neighbors couldn’t figure out what the smell was they thought I was spending too much time around Lindsay Lohan so glad to put the rumors to rest day 49 was another big day for us some of my summer seeds were ready for Harvest along with some more blueberries and on top of that my steel pickaxe was ready to be picked up meaning I can start working on upgrading other things while waiting for Clint to open so I could grab that I took a risk and crafted more summer seeds from the plants I just harvested giving me another 60 summer seeds to work with the only problem now is that we’re back to how we were operating before the spring where I’m spending most of the day just watering plants and having to eat just to finish watering without passing out on the bright side though I did get to sell an entire chest of fish along with the blueberries I harvested today so I should wake up tomorrow with a solid payday I also managed to grab my pickaxe from Clint just before closing so I can start hitting the mines a bit harder now as well the next step is to upgrade my weapon and either craft or purchase some armor but we’ll worry about that tomorrow the only real downside for the day was that I missed the Trout Derby I mean I’d literally just hit level 10 in fishing so a break is going to be nice but it would have been cool to compete in this and earn some rewards for doing the bare minimum to end the day I managed to pull in a whopping 13,00 gold from selling the blueberries and all those fish I’d been stockpiling crazy thing with that is that I have even more fish split into two other chests but I’m hanging on to those for health and energy when I start grinding combat to kick off another big day I started off day 50 by harvesting another set of Summer seeds along with another 230 blueberries since I still have over 350 of them in a chest I’m just going to end up selling all these to stockpile cash for the fall at this point I’m still farming level eight so I don’t think it’s going to hit it before the fall but I should get pretty close to maxing the skill out once the fall does hit I’m going to turn all my focus to forging since it’ll become significantly more difficult in the winter and combat and Mining I can grind out at any time even on the Unlucky days let’s focus on today though first after selling all the blueberries and summer fruits I was up to around 28k so I purchased the final backpack upgrade giving me 36 slots to work with and leaving me with just under 18,000 gold at that point there was still a ton of time left in the day and since I didn’t need to spend it fishing anymore I allocated most of the day to clearing out a massive portion of my land that I’ll be turning into a tree farm I read in a guide that they need to be placed one tile away from each other with one row in between otherwise they won’t be able to reach their Peak age and since I don’t want Dr disrespect to make a guest appearance I figured it’d be best to follow the guide’s advice glad to see even Pelican Town isn’t immune from the carpet bombings we also hit foraging level five and I chose the gatherer profession instead of the one that gives you 25% more wood because it’s not about the size or the amount of wood but how the wood is utilized in all seriousness I’d rather take the chance at Double A Harvest and be able to make hundreds of autumn seeds when the time comes instead of a few extra pieces of wood on top of the carbet bombings it’s always nice to throw in a little chemical warfare I’m sure we’ll be fine on the bright side maybe chemical Warfare is the way seen as over half of my trees seem to be fully grown overnight they’re also holding mystery boxes dropped out of the random plane the night before even with all this commotion going on I still didn’t let it dissuade me from standing out in the rain catching various cancers all while placing a beautiful Cobblestone path to separate my trees so they could grow a little better once that was completed I got started on chopping down any of the fully grown trees initially I didn’t notice anything out of place when I went to organize my inventory I found that I had two Mossy seeds that I’d never seen before apparently they can be planted to grow rare wild trees so I’ll save those for the end and throw them in before I head to bed by that evening I chopped down all of the fully grown trees and replanted new seeds in their spots including four of the mossy seeds I managed to loot throughout the day day 52 was all about prepping for the fall after watering my wild summer seeds I hit up Robin and upgraded my house once that was paid for I made my way over to Clint where I paid for him to upgrade my axe from copper to Steel I also spent the rest of my cash on coal so that I can make some more preserves jars to cap off a rather expensive day I hit mining level five from smashing the stones around my farm allowing me to now earn one extra or per vein it was raining again on day 53 so after harvesting my plants I hit up Pier to sell some of them before checking out the mines I didn’t bother looking at the weather report because at this point all that’s really left to do at the moment is to continue grinding away to get some more floors knocked out I will say I don’t know if it’s because I’m using a steel Axe and the Crystal dagger or if Lux just on my side but I felt like I was cruising through floors here reaching floor 75 by 250 p.m. and floor 80 by 8:00 and it’s not even like I was skipping out on over veins or dodging I was killing any mobs I saw and going out of my way to mine up any iron or copper nodes I came across that being said everything after floor 80 felt way over my head the damage fallof is insane for something as simple as slimes and I still don’t have any armor outside of my boots so I’ll really need to address that before pushing much further [Music] day 54 brought the last large scale Harvest of the summer netting me around 230 blueberries and four summer squash most of my wild summer seeds should be ready tomorrow with the remaining seeds ready on the 28th which means I’ve got another day in the minds ahead of me on the bright side my ax is ready to be picked up so I’m going to go grab that and drop off some more items to Gunther before heading back up there [Music] I then spent the next six or so hours scraping my way deeper into the mines collecting precious resources and battling it out with demonic Teletubbies and balls of red sludge all to not even make it five floors down before retreating back to the surface once I was out of the mines I hit up the adventures Guild where I purchased a bone sword and a topaz ring this should give me a massive Step Up in terms of damage and the ring gives me an exra defense point so hopefully I’ll be better off the next time I head in on the bright side even if today wasn’t all that successful I still managed to hit mining level six and unlock the ability to craft bombs which if you think about it it’s kind of hilarious like just imagine this weird farmer moves into your small town does nothing but fish plant blueberries and go mining doesn’t talk to any of the locals and then you pass by his house one day and just see him out in his front yard makinging bombs got to love it I woke up on day 55 to find out that someone stuck in during the night and slapped on a massive expansion including a kitchen and a new bedroom how they moved my bed through the small one tile doorway I’ll never know but I’m not ruling out ancient dark magic anyway since it’s almost the end of the summer I spent most of my day prepping for the next season I went ahead and moved most of my food into the kitchen instead of random chest and when that was done I chopped down and replanted some more [Music] trees by the time I’d finished up my tree farm it was already about halfway through the day so I got back to work clearing out the farm some more leveling up foraging in the process on day 56 I got a letter that a jellyfish thing is going on tonight so I’ll hit that up if I remember it’s also the official last day of summer which means I’ve got a ton of Summer seeds to collect since I just leveled up foraging this probably won’t make much of a dent but at least I can use some of the berries for preserves once Pier opened I stopped by to sell some of my preserves and extra items that I didn’t want bringing me up to 17K all that’s left to do now is wait until tomorrow so I sat around the farm clearing out my leftover blueberry bushes and smithing copper iron quartz and gold bars to prep all righty day 57 the first official day of fall the goal is to Simply gather as many wild seed packs as possible now thanks to the Batcave I have some blackberries and plums but I still need things like mushrooms and hazelnuts so before Pierre’s Shop opened for the day I did a quick looting run I also just realized I completely forgot about the jellyfish thing on day 56 knew that was going to happen after finding a whopping two plums on the ground I hit up Pierre’s shop and purchased some seeds specifically 10 cranberry seeds and 130 pumpkin seeds I then went back to the farm and crafted 10 sprinklers five normal and five quality once those were crafted I began the joyful and totally not excruciatingly tedious process of planting and watering over 150 seeds including the two rare seeds and 11 wild seeds and flowers on top of the 140 seeds purchased today good God [Music] [Music] [Music] day 58 was entirely spent in the mines and honestly probably one of the best days I’ve had in there now that I’m doing more than like two damage per hit I’m burning through enemies and Floors I even went toe-to-toe with Crash Bandicoot’s companion this was another Blitz day and even without crafting ladders or using bombs I felt like I was flying through floors reaching level 85 by noon and 90 by 5:00 p.m. where I unlocked the obsidian sword also for the stardo pros out there I realize this isn’t objectively fast for someone trying to burn through floors as quickly as possible but for me being fairly new to the game and stopping to mine any or veins I find along the way I’m happy with this progress hell I even managed to reach floor 95 by 11:00 that night before heading home in total I managed to clear 15 floors and walk away with almost 100 gold or I went into day 59 with the same Focus as 58 to reach floor 100 of the mines along the way I was able to scoop up a few hazelnuts that I can use to make more Autumn wild seeds later on the five floors needed to hit 100 weren’t all that bad and I managed to reach it around 1 p.m. reaching the big 1 gives you a star drop that reminded Clive of his favorite thing [Music] boobs if that didn’t key you off on the maturity or intelligence of myself I also found out that there’s 120 floors in the mines not 100 so B Summit I guess there’s also these fire breathing heads that look like they belong in a Courage the Cowardly Dog episode so that’s nice [Applause] [Music] anyway the next Benchmark at floor 105 was much easier than the jump from 95 to 100 and I managed to reach that by 450 some of the loot on these floors were simply too good to pass up though which really slowed me down like floor 106 for example there were close to a dozen or so or veins for me to mine out after coping with the fact that I am a loot [ __ ] I still managed to reach floor 110 by around midnight where I unlocked space boots now I can officially become Napoleon Dynamite all I need to do now is start drawing ligers and find an uncle who could have went pro if coach would have put him in to cap off a back-to-back fantastic days in the mines I hit level five combat taking the fighter profession and level seven mining it’s slow progress but progress nonetheless day 60 brought the book seller back to town and since I only had around 1, 1600 gold at the time I grabbed a bunch of fish from my fridge and gave them all to Willie for a whopping 10K I also went ahead and stopped by Gunther to donate some more [ __ ] I found in the mines only to be given some artwork as a [Music] reward with that I went over to the hot air balloon man and purchased a foraging book for 8,000 gold this dropped me to just under 5K needed for the combat book but after selling three gold bars I was able to pop back in buy the book and read both of them since it was already halfway through the day I didn’t really see a purpose to going back into the caves so instead I spent my time foraging for items that I could use to make wild seeds while on said foraging run I stumbled across a closed off Cave interacting with it gave me the following message if I had to take a guess I’d say that is the Mastery location that I’ll unlock after maxing out all five skills seeing that I already have the fishing skill completed to end the day I made 30 more wild seeds but in an effort to avoid the summer Fiasco where I was spending all morning watering over 80cs at a time I I got to work crafting more basic sprinklers so that I could automate the [Music] process it’s been a while since we’ve done one here so here’s a quick skill check so far I’m at farming eight though that’ll likely change in the next few days here mining is up to seven and will continue to climb as I keep progressing through the caves I’m going to need to come up with a plan to start grinding it after I hit 100 20 though because I’m not sure heading to the desert is a great way to level it combat maybe but probably not for mining I don’t know I’ll have to look into it a bit on to foraging it’s at 6 and it’s the skill I’m most worried about since I really only have the fall to make a dent in it in the winter I can plant winter seeds but that’ll be my only way to really gain any XP as trees don’t regrow during that season fishing is obviously maxed and then combat is at level five that’s another one I’m going to have to figure out a method for since just working through the cave isn’t really getting the job done being that it’s my lowest skill of the remaining four All Things Considered I think I’m starting to fall behind I’ve got 39 days to grind out 14 levels at that rate I’m going to need to be leveling up a skill on average every 2 to 3 days it’s not impossible by any means but it’s only going to get more difficult as I progress which is starting to make me nervous with that out of the way though it’s time to start really pushing on foraging since I’ve got nothing left to do but wait for my crops to grow I grabbed my Axe and began chopping hopping down any tree that I could all over Pelican town by the end of the day I’d collected over 800 Wood d62 was all about finishing off the final 10 floors of the mines I got there before 8:00 a.m. and immediately got to work by noon I’d hit floor 115 so pacing was fine this led to the final five floors which were incredibly timec consuming and filled with a ton of loota bles such as mushrooms since I have no self-control I spent hours looting everything I could find which subsequently led me to level up forging along the way by 5:00 p.m. I’d reached the final floor and retrieved the skull key before heading home once I was back at the farm I crafted 30 more wild seeds along with five more Sprinklers and got them in the ground before turning in for the night hitting forging level seven and combat level six to end the day [Music] I’ve been completely ignoring the community center for the past 62 days so I’m not really going to be able to repair the bus to take me off the premises because of this I’ve inadvertently hard locked us to Pelican town to compensate for the fact that we’re stuck here I spent all of day 63 continuing to clear out the farm in hopes of better utilizing the space for more trees and seeds [Music] moving into day 64 I was able to harvest some cranberries I saved the normal ones for The Preserves jars but sold the rest much like in the spring the bushes around town can be harvested for berries so I spent most of the day traveling around the town searching for said [Music] [Music] bushes to end the day I reached farming level 9 I’m hoping that the first round of pumpkins will get us to our second Max skill but only time will tell on day 65 I dove back into the mines and grinded out the bottom floors to work on combat and Mining why the bottom 10 floors well because you get more combat XP for fighting more difficult monsters so the deeper down you go the more XP you get for killing these things on top of that it’s a better opportunity for me to mine some or veins which will always give me more XP than just hitting stones the grind continued into day 66 with me heading back into the mines for another day of smacking things around with a sword and [Music] pickaxe the only difference between these two days is that I hit level eight mining on day 66 moving into day 67 I got to harvest my first big round of wild seeds allowing me to craft and plant 30 more the big holdup I’m running into at the moment is the fact that there’s only a few ways to level each skill example for foraging I can cut trees grab things off the floor or plant wild seeds and of those three only one of those can be repeated daily to compensate for that I’ve been bouncing back and forth between skills which also just kind of makes things drag on for me so here’s my plan for the next 17 days I’m going to try my hardest to max out foraging it’s level seven now and I’ve got over 40 wild seeds planted and growing so what I’m going to do is take a walk through Pelican to every morning once that’s wrapped up I’ll hit up the Hidden Forest in the southwest for some stumps and additional berry bushes when all the stumps have been chopped I’ll go back to my tree farm and reset that I figured this should be more than enough to get me to level 10 before winter where I can just focus on running through the mines to finish off combat and Mining this continued for several days with the only real changes coming on day 69 where I got to harvest some cranberries and my wild seeds and I’m on Day 70 which was when all 130 of my pumpkins were ready to harvest it was around this time that everything started working out almost like placing the final pieces of a puzzle together you see I grabbed about 80 extra blueberries from my 340 and sold them along with all of my pumpkins to make around 46 Grand I then used those profits to purchase 250 pumpkin seeds when that was all done I went over to Clint and gave him five gold bars and 10K to upgrade my axe before purchasing another 50 coal leaving me with three Grand with the coal I purchased I was able to start smelting more iron and quartz bars that I could use to craft more quality sprinklers this took most of Day 70 but by the end I’d built out a large scale quality sprinkler station capable of watering over 150 pumpkins while the normal sprinkler setup handled the other 100 or so [Music] on top of all of that I managed to reach forging level eight from grabbing a random hazelnut on the side of the road well on my way to Pierre’s this is what the sprinkler system looks like in action ideally I’d like to get moved fully onto quality sprinklers or even aridium sprinklers but I can’t allow myself to get sidetracked from the original ch challenge so for now this is going to be the extent of my gardening capacity since Clint’s still working on my axe I decided to take advantage of the day and head on over to the mines to farm those Sprites that give you coal that way I don’t have to drop 20,000 gold on 50 pieces every few weeks according to Reddit the best place to do this is to cycle floors 55 through 57 in the mines this has the best chance for dust Sprites apparently you’re supposed to check 56 and if it’s not infested you just leave the mines and start over if it is you continue to 5 7even before dipping out and resetting so shout out corag from 8 years ago on Reddit by the end of the day I’d gotten 27 coal 76 iron and a ton of jewels and minerals to take home with me not a bad haul all things considered Day 72 was a break from the grind the stardew Valley Fair was taking place today and if it’s one thing I know about the fair it’s that there’s degenerate gambling to be had before that though watch me crush the strength test without even taking my Peds [Music] now for 2,000 Stars you can get a star drop but me personally I’m more focused on that sweet sweet Fedora to gain some Stars I played a few mini games like the target practice slingshot one and the fishing one once I had around 600 Stars I went over to the spinning wheel guy and proceeded to gamble most of them them away just remember kids you can only lose 100% of your money gambling but you can make 200 300 even 400% of it back on one hit naturally I won on my third Spin and since you can’t end on a hot hand I just kept running it back after losing all of my stars it was back to the fishing mini game to reclaim my losses after a quick round of that it was back to the gambling Den where I hit on backtack greens giving me enough for the big prize but not enough for that Fedora so it was one more spin for 500 now after filling my head with thoughts of Sydney sweing I purchased the Fedora and set off to watch a couple Andrew tape videos to boost my confidence in reality I still needed to do my display table now since I sold most of my aridium stuff I only had a few fish left over so I threw those up there along with a variety of items I’d either foraged or harvested for my garden all gold stars then while lwis was judging the stands I just stood next to him and talked huge [ __ ] about everyone else’s products to make mine look cooler that method paid off and I won first place earning 1,000 star tokens I went on to spend those on a ticket that could be redeemed in Louis’s house which I thought was weird but didn’t want to ask about the only downside of the day is that I completely forgot to clean up my display table so I lost all of those aridium fish that give like 100 energy and 50 Health the next morning I crafted 30 more wild seeds and dumped them into the ground around four quality sprinklers once they were planted I head up Clint to collect my Golden Axe now that I’ve got my upgrade it’s time for a change of pace becoming a joa member costs 5,000 gold and replaces the community center with a warehouse I’ve never done this before but I read that you can repair the mine carts this way so that’s my goal I have to come back tomorrow to see what upgrades I can do now that I’m officially a joa platinum member but until then I’ve got another task to check off my list this reminds me so much of a battle pass and I know it’s not and it’s entirely free and optional thing to do in the game but that’s immediately what my mind went to so now I need yours to go there too anyway now that my to-do list is completed I get to spend the rest of my day chopping down [Music] trees day 74 kicked off with me harvesting some more cranberries and wild seeds then using that Harvest to craft another 50 wild seeds and plant them wherever I could find a spot once all 50 seeds were planted it was finally time to get back to my normal routine of running around mindlessly foraging and chopping down trees at one point I brutalized a tree only for it to drop a fish t-shirt so that was pretty sweet this grind continued for several days with only a few Short Stops to harvest and replant wild seeds [Music] I also took the afternoon on day 78 to extend the tree farm with another 50 or so tree [Music] saplings there was a pretty big win on day 79 when I harvested some cranberries getting me to level 10 in farming and officially capping off the second skill on top of that I also hit forging level 9 so we’re on the home stretch I’m hoping that the 100 or so wild seeds I have can get me over the hump before the end of the season since it’s too late for me to plant anything else on day 80 I got to work harvesting a ton of autumn wild plants once that was done I grabbed all the leftover pieces from my storage chest and sold those since like I just said it’s too late to plant any more wild seeds for this season I did however craft 83 tree fertilizers so that they can grow the remaining seeds before winter [Music] the next morning I was able to harvest the ancient seeds which turned into sweet gem berries once that was taken care of I was off to harvest most of the remaining wild fruits from the farm and dropped them in the cell bin for tonight with that wrapped up it was back to shopping on trees at the tree farm and throughout the rest of my plot of land day 82 was basically the same as the previous few weeks a quick forging run in the morning before spending the majority of the day chopping down trees [Music] I did stumble across Grandpa’s gravestone and he’s Jesus so that’s cool on day 83 I stepped outside to see my farm completely overrun with pumpkins 245 of them to be exact on top of that I was also able to harvest all of the remaining fall berries leaving only the tree farm [Music] once everything was harvested I picked up the extra Sprinklers and added them to their respective groups for example I took the extra quality Sprinklers and combined them with that massive plot of quality sprinklers instead of having them sporadically placed throughout the farm that evening I headed into town for another Festival this one’s got a maze so I speedran that for the golden pumpkin moving into day 84 and the last day of the season I grabbed all of the wild fruits from the fall along with all those pumpkins and sold them for over 100,000 gold with all that cash we can do fun [ __ ] like buy our way to Victory as it turns out becoming a jojan member is effectively taking the Pay to Win approach in stardo valley where everything that you needed to Gra to unlock with items you just pay with cold hard money laundered cash the downside is you can only do one per day so I chose the mine carts but once that’s up I’ll go ahead and purchase the bus so Pam can have a job again and we can go blow a ton of [ __ ] up in the desert like our country demands of us outside of that I hit up Clint to work on upgrading my pickaxe again and then headed home to spend the rest of the day chopping down trees in the tree farm well it’s officially winter now which means the only way I’m going to finish off forging is with those winter seeds or by chopping down trees so it’s time to get to work I was able to finish chopping down all the trees on the farm by around 2:00 p.m. bringing me up to over 8,000 wood on day 80 6 I started off the day by destroying some stumps in the Hidden Forest along with killing all of the slimes in the area since well it’s just free XP after clearing on everything over here I hit up Clint to grab my upgraded pickaxe and planted some winter seeds that I’ve been gathering for the past few seasons later on I unlocked panning don’t ask why I I I really don’t know I just had a complete brain fart I wasn’t thinking at all I’m literally never going to do that anyway I managed to level up combat to seven from killing those slimes in the forest so that’s cool I guess well it took 87 days but the mine carts work now which means I can get around the map almost instantly compared to spending hours walking from Zone to Zone the biggest hold up right now is the fact that I can’t forge the items needed to make winter seeds so until I can start crafting those it’s back to the mines on the brain side I can still Forge mushrooms and stuff like that while I’m down here so I should still be able to make a little progress It’s about time I get back to work on this too I’ve got a little less than 2 weeks to get Mining and combat to level 10 currently mining is at eight and combat just hit seven so this is going to be tough [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] on day 88 I spent most of the morning forging since the wild plants are starting to populate around Pelican town by that after afternoon I had enough resources to craft and plant 40 winter seeds which should hopefully be enough to max out [Music] foraging day 89 brought the book seller to town and he did not disappoint it may have cost almost 40K but I managed to walk away with one mining book two foraging books and another skillbook to increase my speed permanently [Music] after reading said books I headed back into the mines to grind the final 10 floors over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again it’s hard to tell if I’m making any substantial progress with things like forging or combat but at least I was able to get mining up to level 9 before day 90 all right day 90 the home stretch we’ve got 10 days to gain five levels on the bright side two of the three remaining skills are level 9 being Mining and foraging the only one I’m nervous for is combat I think the skull Caverns give me the best shot so I crafted 40 Mega bombs and hit up Jojo to repair the bus that’ll take a day to complete so until then it’s back to the mines to gather as much Stone as possible so that I can spam ladders [Music] you know I wouldn’t be shocked if Pierre was secretly a mob boss anyway now that that awkward confrontation is over I spent the entire morning doing another foraging run using the forged items to craft another 20 winter seeds I should be able to get one more running with those if they take 7 days to grow so hopefully that’ll be enough to get me to level 10 after everything was planted it was back to the mines for some more grinding with whatever time I had left in the day on day 92 I decided to finally head out to the desert and see just how far I could progress My Hope Is that I’ll be able to fight more difficult enemies here which should in Theory give me more combat XP at a faster rate the only issue with that is that I’ve got to sit around and wait for Pam’s hung over ass to show up and drive me after waiting for around 2 hours Pam finally showed up and drove me out to the [Music] desert let’s get to it since yesterday ended so poorly I figured I’d give it another go today I don’t have the ladders like last time but I still have around 50 bombs I’m also bringing a farm warp totem with me that I looted a while back so that I can’t stay until midnight or even 1:00 a.m. before warping back and going to bed obviously I’ll need to actually survive that long first so let’s just focus on that for now [Music] by the end of the day I’d made it past floor 30 and was fighting [ __ ] dinosaurs which is something I’ve never done in the game before so that was really cool after 2 days of grinding the cavern I managed to hit combat level 8 honestly there really isn’t anything else for me to do besides continue to go back to the skull caverns and keep grinding I have no idea if it’s true or not but my thought process is that the enemies in the cavern have to give more XP than the mines considering you need to max out the mines before even reaching the cavern so I’m just going to keep grinding those and hopefully I’ll get my combat finished off over the next 6 days [Music] [Music] [Music] on date 95 I was able to harvest about 40 winter fruits now I didn’t get the notification from them so I don’t think that was enough to get me to level 10 so because of that I took a day of going back through and chopping down any trees I could find by the time i’ finished up with that it was already almost 4:00 so I dropped everything off at my farm and headed to floor 115 to finish off the day working on combat [Music] this ended up working out for me and I was able to hit level 10 in mining giving me three completed skills and leaving only forging and combat left to get things started on day 96 I crafted around 20 additional bombs to bring with back to the cavern I finished that super quick and still had a few hours to kill before Pam walked her drunk ass over to the bus so I went to go chop some stumps in the forest only to get this notification on the first stump which means we’re down to just combat I’d like to be able to get that to level 9 today so I have 4 days to get the final level but we’ll see how today goes there is nothing in this game that I hate more than these flies [Music] dude they drive me insane anyway after eating two Kevin I HD up the normal cave for the rest of the day since there was no point in heading all the way back out to the desert again on the bright side foraging is completed leaving only combat to work with now if we include all of day 100 I’ve got four full day days to work with to Max combat it’s unlikely but it’s still possible I also looked into the XP breakdowns and turns out those dragonfly serpent things give 20 XP per kill making them one of the best ways to grind combat since usually you get at least one per floor and oftentimes it’s more like three or four meaning on a good day I can get around 100 XP per floor in the caverns just from those perfect example when something like this happens I get around 200 to 300 XP just from fighting these things the only problem is well you got to fight these [Music] [Applause] things well somehow I still haven’t hit combat level 9 so I don’t think it’s going to be possible honestly the hardest part of just grinding combat is the amount of self-control it took to not just Farm gems and owers like there were times when there were five or six veins stacked on top of each other and I just had to walk past them instead of mining them up and it honestly it sucked I wish I would have noticed this earlier but there’s a lava Katana on sale in the adventures Guild and the lowest damage of that thing is the same as the max damage on my current sword so I picked it up on the bright side I finally hit combat level 9 today so we’ll have to see how tomorrow and day 100 go there’s still a small chance I can pull this off since Pam doesn’t reach the bus until around 9:30 I spent the morning in the mines killing anything I could once 9:30 hit I went back to the bus and spent the rest of the day in the cavern repeating the same process all right we’ve made it the last full day of the challenge one level to go I used the rest of my material to make four Mega bombs five regular bombs 32 cherry bombs and two stairs much like the previous days I started the morning in the normal caves while waiting for Pam to make her way over once I made it to the cavern it was more of the same except this time I didn’t plan on going [Music] home as the time passed I became more desperate eventually passing out in the cave at 2: a.m. I was pretty bummed about all of this I feel like I’d come so far to just fall one level short and that was a major let down to me so here’s what I’m going to do I’ve been holding on to all my geod since the start of the run so I’m going to head to Clin and open all of them up and then I’ll do one final day in the cavern and see if I can max out Combat on day 101 no matter what I’ll end it after today that being said I had to keep taking breaks to donate [ __ ] to the museum as I was getting too many valuables from the geod [Music] [Music] this took like 10 minutes to burn through all of these but once I was finished I bought 400 iron and made around 100 bombs before hopping on the bus and heading back into the cavern [Music] [Music] well I guess we’ll call it here hello post edits PRS here real quick I couldn’t just let the video end like that so I continued on into day 102 and after killing like I don’t know five slimes I got this little notification which means after 102 days I’ve officially maxed every skill in stardo Valley normally I’d Fade to Black here but I remembered that cave from a few weeks ago so I walked my happy ass over to it to find out that the grind has just begun inside are a ton of recipes and items that you can unlock from I’m assuming just grinding XP but still really cool to see so maybe I’ll get around to unlocking all of this one day if you made it all the way to the end thank you so
