What I learned most from yesterday is that Sandy needs to become a romance character stat! Y’all certainly had a great time though building her playlist.
The Winner for Sandy is Desert Rose by Sting! You can find the full Spotify playlist by following the link here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/78ugy3YtsN1xmTWlzRkoPl?si=pNPWeOVhSGms-JW9ew9leQ&pi=u-UPNPTnJERHSA

As always, please support the original artist for the above image by checking out Talkohlooey’s portrait mod here: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5269

We have now reached the man responsible for all of our memories we’ve made in Stardew Valley (other than Concerned Ape of course). Grandpa will be interesting as I think a few of you will put songs related to your own grandfather which I am 100% here for!

Pick a song you believe best represents Grandpa as a character, reminds you of him in some way, or one that you believe he would listen to on his own! As a bonus you can include songs your real life grandpa enjoys or songs that remind you of him!

Now please be kind, be creative, and be having fun!

(Also if you are interested in a Wave 2, include a character you want added in!)

…While You’re Alive, by Jeff Rosenstock

When you’re a ghost, they’ll sit around And talk about how they liked you the most

    When you’re a dream,

I’ll wake up To warm sun-rays that make me want to scream

I wanna let you know while you’re alive

Because everybody loves you when you die

~~[My Immortal by Evanescence](https://youtu.be/5anLPw0Efmo?si=lFiE-5uO5KALfebp). Primarily the line “though you’re still with me, I’ve been alone all along.” Admittedly, I probably focused on the wrong aspect of Gramps, but I just woke up and this song was the furthest I got when looking for a song before I started crying.~~

Alright, scratch that one. Let’s have some fun with it. [Lavender Town Jazz Cover by insaneintherainmusic](https://youtu.be/xt81XtXqhms?si=-GXTDj5yIHOtQLBj). Sticking with the theme of Gramps being gone, but less of a somber tone and more of a “I had a good run. Now it’s your turn.” It’s got that same eerie vibe Lavender Town is known for, but in a more upbeat sense. I especially like the line “Not another day will pass without you” because, in spite of being gone, he’s still there to see how far you’ve come.

  3. I love to think that the Farmer used to visit Grandpa on the farm with their parents, so for me it’s The Call by Regina Spektor, a song from the Prince Caspian movie.

    I’ll come back

    When you call me

    No need to say goodbye

    Just because everything’s changing

Doesn’t mean it’s never been this way before

  4. “[Hero](https://youtu.be/ubjRIhoFqe8?si=vSagaAozhd8MqZjS)” by Sturgill Simpson

Born on a summer day in some dark holler
Way back in the hills of Perry County.
Well he grew up poor and he never saw a dollar
But a dollar ain’t no good in a coal camp anyway.

‘Cause when it all comes down to zero
There’s nothing more this life could ever give,
And I know I’ll never find another hero
    Not another one like him.

  5. Home by Daughtry

    Well, I’m going home

Back to the place where I belong

And where your love has always been enough for me

    I’m not running from

No, I think you got me all wrong

I don’t regret this life I chose for me

But these places and these faces are getting old
    So I’m going home

    [Wanderer’s Lullaby by Adriana Figueroa](https://youtu.be/70VlAyEUXYM?si=kZGi8n6PMv_JwG8t)

I feel like the lyrics just scream the sentiment Grandpa wanted to pass on to the farmer, and the glockenspiel, music box instrumental very much reminds me of the farm evaluation cut scene. Very sweet song by a small creator!

    “Lay down” – Ella Henderson

    >Won’t you lay down

And tell me the places you’ve been

    Won’t you lay down

    And relive your story again

If things could turn back around

I know I would do anything

    Won’t you lay down

‘Cause I know that heaven’s waiting

    Won’t you stay now

There’s so much that’s never been said

    Won’t you stay now

    Remind me to never forget

    And I, I won’t break down

I don’t want to live with regret

    Won’t you stay now

I’ll be by your side ’til the end

And you’ve been to places I’ve never been

Built your walls so high but you’d always let me in

You showed me that love can build a home

But now I see, that it’s time to let you go

    Won’t you lay down

And tell me the places you’ve been

    Won’t you lay down

    And relive your story again

If things could turn back around

I know I would do anything

    Won’t you lay down

‘Cause I know that heaven’s waiting

    No, no

If things could turn back around

I know I would do anything

    Won’t you lay down

‘Cause I know that heaven’s waiting
