Terraria Mods To Speed Up The Early Game

is a great game that can easily keep you busy for hours and hours on end and if you are anything like me you tend to start playthroughs very often but rarely ever finish them although exploring early game is super fun i think it can be a little too slow at times in order to get the ball rolling and a new playthrough which is often why we abandon playthroughs quite early at times today we are going over some mods you can use in order to give you a bit of an extra boost in that early game pre-boss stage of the game so you can get to the hectic boss fights the cool weapons and the other stuff much faster before we get into the first mod if you enjoy the content make sure to leave a like and subscribe for more monitoring content like this without further ado let’s get into it the first mod we’re going over today is the fargo’s mutant mod the fargo’s mutant mod adds various new npcs and quality of life changes to your playthrough town npcs such as the mutant which sells boss summons of any boss you have defeated from vanilla or modded are super useful to save some time if you need some extra materials from bosses or you’re trying to farm a rare drop of some sort one of the many quality of life changes that it adds is being able to convert your corruption items into crimson items so you can mix and match evil weapons even if you don’t have that evil the next mod is start with base this mod is great if you are someone who hates building like i do and always makes prisons or shoe boxes for your town upon rural generation in the top right you will see a button that will allow you to choose between a variety of different base designs that will be auto generated upon entering your world you can also change the materials that the base is made out of which is super neat this isn’t for everyone but i find it super nice if you need a lot of housing or would just like to focus on bossing and exploring and other stuff rather than building the next mod on the list is house builder if you thought the start with base mod was a little bit too cheaty house builder is a good second option if you have 70 wood and are at a workbench you can craft a house builder which when placed builds a small little home that your town people can move into it costs you some wood so i think it makes things a bit more fair compared to start with base but it’s still super useful the next mod is plentiful ores it’s a pretty simple mod it makes iron lead gold platinum and five out of the seven gems spawn 250 more frequently in your world it’s really useful if you find yourself mining for ages early game and want to cut down on that next up we have vane miner this mod works great with plentiful ores as instead of mining wars one by one you can now mine them in large chunks by holding your vein miner hotkey which will mine the entire vein of ore with just one click the next mod is reduced mining this mod is a good secondary option to plentiful ores instead of adding more oars to the world it gives you a 50 chance for oars to drop twice when mined and another 50 chance for them to triple drop instead of double this also works with all ores so even modded ones as well the next mod is faster tools the faster tools mod does exactly what you would expect it allows you to mine faster this mod has a config where you can make it go from 1.01 to 10 times faster mining speed and this also works with axes and other tools the next mod on the list is starter classes this is a mod that i just recently discovered and i wish i would have known about it sooner upon spawning in you start with an unopened bag which can be crafted into various different class bags of your choice that can give you helpful items to start out in the early game but the items are all related to the class that you are playing the selling point for me was seeing that it has mod support for calamity thorium model redemption orchid and much more which means you can start as any of these new classes the instant you begin your playthrough which is super cool and amazing the final mod on the list is alchemist mpc lite the alchemist mpc light mod in my opinion is one of the must-haves on any playthrough if you are like me and you aren’t very good at terraria you tend to die more often than you win boss fights and when you die you lose all your buffs meaning you need more potions this mod helps prevent you from running out of potions and having to farm herbs 24 7. after you defeat the ayah cthulhu you will unlock a few newtown pcs which will sell various things but the most important one is the alchemist which sells every potion including the ones from mods that you have loaded i truly did not know how i’d be able to finish a clamdy playthrough or any hard contact mod without this mod as it saves me so much time and allows for more boss attempts quicker also make sure to get the light version as the full version adds a bunch of cheap weapons and other stuff that you most likely will not want if you want to do a series playthrough that is all for today’s video guys if you guys did enjoy make sure to leave a like and consider subscribing if you want to see more modded tourey 1. me: watches video to see what mods i should add.
    also me:
has start classes, alchemist npc lite, fargo's mutant mod, start with base, and fishes for ores instead.
    me: 'welp, that didnt help'

  2. I wish the youtube algorithm didnt hate you 🙁
Also just a thanks for the vid I started a calamity playthrough but the early game was so slow and grueling

  3. if anyone sees this, how do you open mod config for terraria multiplayer? It works for me when im playing a solo world, but when me and some friends try to play together vein miner doesnt work. I read on a terraria forum that you have to config the mod into allowing whitelisting for multiplayer worlds.

  4. Thanks man this really helped, I'm new to modded terraria and I didn't know where to start, I got some of these mods and got thorium since it was the easiest mod closest to vanilla.

  5. LUIAFK mods are amazing as well. A bit cheaty but if you play the game a ton I feel like most of them are amazing. I've seen you use them before but I would add them to the list. 😀

  6. I don't get why survival games like these don't ever try to solve this issue, I have started probably around 20 survival Minecraft wolds, I only got full diamond in maybe 3 of them because I always get so damn bored just mining for 3 hours straight

  7. the absolute BEST mod for starting quickly is Jump Start. it gives you a starter bag with hermes boots, cloud in a bottle, and a couple other things including a slime crown. it also adds support for calamity bosses with the IMK Sushi loot swap tokens, i know not everybody plays with that but if you do it’s nice to have as opposed to also getting the calamity loot swap mod. Finally, my absolute favourite thing is that the king slime drops magic storage items. that’s right. no more spending hours and hours searching for enough silver to make those storage units! no more desperately looking for another diamond to make the crafting interface! just kill king slime and you get a bunch of storage units, a storage heart, and one other random piece

  8. I wonder if there is a mod that just gives you a "I beat Terraria" t-shirt, so you can just skip playing the game altogether. You use so many "quality of life" mods to the point where you're not even playing the game anymore. How about a mod that just starts you out with every achievement and moon lord dies right when start your new game? Then just turn it off and feel accomplished. I like some mods just for getting rid of redundancy or repetition, but I don't know how having everything done for you is even fun. To each their own I suppose.

  9. Eyo a tips to calamity (with luiafk) mining : firstly try to get a set of gold/Platinum armor (play gives 40 % and gold gives 45%) secondly you can get the too, from luiafk which requires 5 Iron, 100 wood and 100 stone (really easy and grants 35% mining speed like jesus!) THEN you can try to get the ancient fossil that gives 15% and then you can get lastly mining potion and more melee speed like feral claws (not hard to obtain). This will grant you 90/85 + (miner potion) MORE mining speed.

  10. I can also recommend Loot bags or Fargo's Loot Bonus. Loot Bags adds vanilla progression based lootbags (tier 1 pre boss levels up at certain steps like for example after WoF it's tier 3 I believe) and they drop all kinds of ore, trinkets and other useful items that reduce grinding significantly while not being too OP.
Fargo's Loot Bonus literally lets you scale the amount of loot dropped (configurable, option to include bosses or not). I usually set it to 2x or 3x, so everything drops more loot.
I also use AutoReforge, since it safes having to click on reforge a thousand times and then accidently missing the reforge you want.
