These Terraria weapons are impressively powerful… The Dart Rifle and The Dart Pistol. In this video, I take a look at both the Dart Rifle and the Dart Pistol which are dart firing ranged weapons which are exclusive to the Corruption and Crimson biomes. These are seriously powerful weapons and can easily carry you through a good portion of Hardmode due to there power!

Its weird that the paintball gun which drop from a literal painter is close to having the same dps as early hardmode dartguns which drop from a cursed soul consuming mimic.
I think the best bet would be to get a stack of ichor darts and the pistol, and use them in combination with a rapid-fire gun and your bullet of choice (for example, the chain gun snd chlorophyte bullets); use the darts to inflict ichor and the chain gun to deal damage, and just switch back to the darts when you need to refresh

I actually grew to like the dart rifle with cursed darts more due to bringing pretty insane crowd control and single target damage to the table. With the cursed flames splitting off, hitting something big like the boss often hits them 2 to 3 times and the cursed inferno debuff was also heavily buffed.
In some runs, I keep using the dart rifle until the lunar pillar event just for how versatile and strong it is, especially considering how early it is accessible. The dart pistol with ichor darts is still a very strong option of course! Although the golden shower will eventually take its space as utility weapon.

i prefer dart rfile cuz high damge will do good cuz bosses will keep getting hight defense like skeltron prime

Ngl these weapons are amazing because I was easily capable of killing all mechs and plantera with just a dart rifle and cursed darts, it’s my new favorite early hardmode weapon.

I used the dart pistol with cursed darts against the destroyer in my most recent drunk world playthrough. It absolutely shredded the giant metal worm. If you’re a daedalus stormbow hater like me then these weapons are perfect for the mech bosses, especially when given the darts they function best with.

Crystal Dart vs Planeta in a box arena makes the fight almost as dumb as playing Summoner, but with higher dps and you have to keep shooting(not aiming, just shooting). I love it

I have a feeling that the Dart Pistol would be far better against The Destroyer and Skeletron Prime since, like Sockrteez said, you apply the buff more frequently, making the DOT stack, vs the dart rifle which is excellent for raw dps literally everywhere else

I think the Dart Rifle is a lot better than the Dart Pistol for one major reason: Cursed Darts are the best general use darts in the game. Because of the way base damage scales, coupled with the fact that the trail projectiles don't always hit multiple times against enemies when they overlap (the piercing weapons problem), increasing the damage of each projectile is much better than increasing the number of projectiles…especially against bosses. The Dart Rifle with Cursed Darts utterly obliterates Skeletron Prime, especially if used supplementally…constantly keeping cursed flames up on all of its parts while changing to a more direct weapon like an Onyx Blaster wit Ichor Bullets or an Uzi.

The Dart Rifle edged out a victory because its damage output only gets deducted once by enemy armor, while the Dart Pistol, which shoots twice as fast at half as much damage, gets deducted twice.
I like to use the icor ammo as a secondary to debuff bosses, so I find the pistol more useful to spray a few shots and switch off. The dart rifle is undisputably better against the destroyer but the pistol is better for crowd control, both are good for queen slime. I would say its one of the best balanced crimson vs corruption pairs, especially with the ammo difference.
Useful tip: take a blowgun or whatever it is from the witch doctor to the WoF fight and then go to your underground evil and farm up a few cursed flames or icor, it makes a ton of ammo and most of the utility and a good bit of damage comes from the darts, not the guns. You can use this until you get an actual hard mode weapon; the icor in particular is great for the high defense enemies you'll face early hardmode with little other way of killing
The dart rifle with cursed darts got me through pirates, queen slime, all the mech bosses, plantera, frost moon, blood moon, pumpkin moon, solar eclipse and golem. Very OP.
