Dude, first of all, well done I have never finished the fishing quest so you earned my respect there.
Second, I think that wall of flesh spawns from the side of the world on which you are. Therefore when you're at the end of the right side of hell, it spawns on the right.
Lastly, I'm playing FTW mastermode RN and dude its tough. I'm in pre-hardmode still and I already have 250 deaths. All I can say is that it's really humbling. 😂
