I have an iron farm that works in my testing world but not in my survival world, any ideas why? It’s the same design and everything.

  1. Possible reasons:

You’ve forgotten to add enough beds / have added too many villagers (or they bred in your pod). In this case you would still get cats spawning

You’ve built it too close to some other villager stuff, which creates a giant village and the golems are attempting to spawn in the wrong place – must be 96+ blocks horizontally or 76+ blocks vertically from any other villager’s bed or workstation or bell.

Your workstations aren’t all linked to a villager in the same pod as the workstation. You have to break each one and see which villager gives off angry particles, replace it and try the next one.

In the last two cases you would still get cats.

You’ve built it with a roof which can in some cases prevent the golems from spawning if there isn’t a 4 block gap between the platform and the roof, or if the roof is less than 7 blocks above the highest bed.

You might or might not get cats

  2. Your chances of getting help will improve with a more descriptive subject and a hint if this is java or bedrock (server type is relevant if you play on a server).

If it’s java, this video might help. [https://youtu.be/HqFvreQdoDw](https://youtu.be/HqFvreQdoDw)
