Stardew valley meets mech warrior – Lightyear Frontier Demo

Well hello ShirlieRox here so I’m really excited to show you this today this is Imagine Stardew Valley and then Imagine Metc Warrior and then combine the two and add a little bit of slime rancher in and then you get Lightyear Frontier so this is scheduled for a 19th of March

2024 release and it is by a developer called Frame Break along with Amplify Studios and it is a open world farming game on a planet at the far edge of the galaxy and it puts you in a giant mech that you can climb in climb out of do

Upgrades and do farming so it’s like it’s also a bit like farming simulator with also giant mechs. There’s a demo for this I don’t know how many hours are in the demo but there is quite a lot of content and it’s good to get your teeth

Into it so we’re gonna dive into the game have a little look and have a little look now you can actually play with up to three friends as well so that would be yeah four player farming in mechs you just couldn’t make this up so let’s

Dive into it and have a little look okay into the game we go so single player start a new game and my new world is gonna be called Star Battle Slime game mixing all the genres up so we will get into this now so we start off the game we

Crash land on a planet and we have to explore and see what’s going on so let me just sit back and watch this okay so as you can see we’ve gone to land and me mechs fell out the back and yeah it’s gone it’s gone slightly petong so we’re

Gonna wake up on this weird planet now that the planet doesn’t seem hostile from what I’ve seen so far but as we advance it might do so first order of business is find my battle farm in mech so we’ve got a nice little heads-up display here telling me where to go and

We’ve got loads of interactables and there’s trees you can hear there’s bushes you can hear there’s all sorts so look for me meadow look look for me meadow look for me mech it’s in the meadow and you got these little little bits of smoke in here that reminds me of

Terratec a little bit it does look pretty hopefully when I render this out it does show you how nice this game can look and my graphics card isn’t the best it’s a few years old so this does look lovely that’s mine manually look at this give me stone nice that’s how you

This is where it gets interesting because we have a mech but we also have attachments for the mech so you can see I’ve got a hand there I’ve got a chainsaw in the right hand side so I can pick up all sorts of stuff so pick up

Bit so left click does a I guess you’d call it like a drill punches it and then if we right click we can do a chainsaw but we can also we can punch it as well okay we get wood and Fred think from that or fiber sorry so you can

Like whack loads stuff now currently we need to find an irrigation hose a seed shooter and a vacuum harvester we also need to build a shed there’s something all the way over here actually hold down space we’ve got a little bit of a jetpack okay so something

Here I think this is the vacuum harvester here so we run up to these there you go press e to pick up now we have a new attachment so we stick that on now we fuse the mouse button we can scroll between them so the vacuum harvester gathers water and can destroy

Weeds we can pick these up as well so let’s suck them up and if I go over the water bottom middle left click and suck up some water okay let’s go find something else I can suck up anything else I can suck up spikes or required for

That let’s go to the next bit power tools and even that ship of yours the farm that project really was extraordinary big weird city over here as well I think that loads of these seeds lot suck all them up not actually a relaunch of this before I don’t know what this

Actually is why is it okay it’s a swift plume neck nest which can feed with basic fodder these swift plumes I’m assuming that’s a swift plume let’s go have a little look yeah see I don’t know if you make them as you pet or something

You can feed them though anyway I need to go over here so let’s tally home get over here switch to me sucky finger and because there’s lots of things to sucky sucky okay what’s in this this is a seed shooter let’s pick it up attach it now

This shoots plant seeds in mounds so that’s for like harvesting let’s go here sending us probes out to the edge of the galaxy to scan for this is definitely an abandoned structure there okay now we’re gonna start meeting the slime so the slime is something apparently we do not want so I

Think I can oh no no no we need to get the upgrade first we need the irrigation hose which is basically a hose pipe which shoots out water and gets rid of these things so if I go up to this pick it up now the irrigation hose waters

Plants and remove slime so this is noxious slime and it’s it’s plume in the area so you just shoot a bit of water on it and that cleans it up and then that helps the area you’re in perfect so let’s just get rid of all of this come on

Shooting my water all in your face now once you’ve run out water you do have to switch weapon again switch to this and continue spraying 23% clean there lovely one bit left okay I think that’s all the stuff done here now so we’ll suck this up again okay so we’ve got to

Get the sprout cannon as well I’m assuming the sprout cannon is all the way over here so let us take a shortcut now you can’t take various shortcuts which are quite interesting now you can flip yourself like this if you hold on E you can get out and then you can flip it

Back over again F is your torch as well if you do go into some areas you can end up worse off like you can actually fall and drown and die I’m gonna switch to my generic little farming utility here to try and get over here turn torch off

And off in the mech as well yeah meat stones four stones off that yeah give me a lot give me a fiber that’s we’re going up here now let’s try and fly so I’m hoping this is a sprout cannon now see what this is something interesting there as well okay

Sprout cannon what do you do sprout cannon plants trees and large plants in the ground okay now we have got a thing here blue color flower I’m having you just think about the thousands of people who initially came to the frontier taking a chance one-way trip paint recipes generations they’ve managed to

Drive here your neighbors are quite delicious but I feel like something interesting around here so I’ve seen these purple bits before these are like mystery areas two centuries probably found that shipping somewhere is this I forgot to mention this huge door yeah what’s that what is that on it many years ago but

Trees you can harvest and some you can’t I need a spikes or upgrade for that but we can get the little ones here so if we get these ones here yes yes so let’s hold this down I’ve already got enough water but I’m gonna grab a little

Bit more finishing move no not quite these are green trees we’re gonna need quite a lot of resources for this so I am going to get quite a lot of stuff here oh we’ve got a new resource another green tree green tree sprout let’s get this final rock right now let’s press B

So we’re building a little a little shed think the shed says it improves the efficiency of crafting constructs built it within it so I thought you built your sleptiness but you don’t it’s for actually making stuff now you drop the main thing like that then you’d run up

To it and then if you hold down E we’ll add all the stuff to build in it there we go I wasn’t to build an oil presser which is wood and stone so you can rotate stuff with the middle mouse bone and it does have a bit of a snap to

System so I’m gonna try and fit as much as I can in here so I’ll run up to it right now start crafting any oil so the any oil make it moment is plant oil which is five plant fiber if I click on that now you can queue up a load of

Stuff let’s queue up five once that gets to zero I should have some oil so I’ll show you in here first perfect come out of it and you can see it will deposit the oil here so you go that’s a lot a clothesline and a what a watch basin

Right another thing we need to make is a fodder oven so this is this cooks food I think fodder is what we feed to the Beasties so let’s come out of that get the oil again make try make this over so I think we have to think about where

We’re gonna where stuff’s gonna come out of this let’s see how this one works I don’t know how stuff will pop out of it so basic fodder is plant oil and plant fiber so we are gonna be making a lot of oil let’s keep this topped up at all

Times with making oil let’s try and make some of this fodder so we’ve got basic fodder and we’ve also got poly berry oil okay so if I make I can only make make three let us space confirm that making some oil and now we need to make a

Little farming thing now so we’re making that plot so we need a little plot to build stuff which is this one has space to grow nine plants I need more wood right let’s go and grab some more wood I can fly oh I can’t fly okay oops I nearly

Broke oh I nearly broke me a mech okay let’s end to the mech let’s send to the mech again yeah that was that bit I said before about you can’t have in some water give me rocks give me rocks give me wood right we also need to take care

Of our logistics now I don’t see food health sleep so I don’t know what the purpose of sleeping is but we do need to actually worry about that at some point I think so we’re gonna build a plot which is four wood and eight fiber

We’ll place that down and now we need to add the ingredients to it okay plant a seed in a mound so this is really it’s interesting so we have to switch to a different thing now now that one does trees so I could do a tree there if I

Wanted to but I want to plant these would you be poly berries I think they are poly berries yeah I’m just gonna fill this up full of these as we did collect quite a lot of them now these do need water in so let’s switch to the

Water tool which is the hose we’re just gonna give these a little bit of quality h2o nice okay and then because I built near the water I can’t run and do this hopefully punch my water okay what’s a new thought they were new ingredients I don’t think

They are right we need to build a place to sleep as well so let’s go to this one small tent let’s get a little small tent so we will select that and it is this is time this is the thing you’re gonna remember this game is I’m in a giant

Think there’s a way of selecting what you’re actually planting here there must be a way of doing it sadly I do not know how to do that does share anyway we’re gonna that obviously doesn’t need watering because it’s raining but I do need some more water so let me go yonder over here

Needs find a little source of metal and these feeder we need to feed an animal and we also need to go to sleep because I have not been to bed yet let’s go and look for some metal first of all says low six board that’s like some big

Metal was all here to the left let’s see if it respawns and there was slime up here as well slimes look like they’ve gone is this where the metal was did it respawn around here okay this is different but look there’s a starfish can’t seem to do anything to it though

I’d really like to find some metal but don’t quite know where it is anyway I think I’m gonna pause it there for now because we can save and quit so yeah I think this will be interesting to play even on the demo just to show you
