The Anchor, Terraria’s most pointless weapon

Out of all the tri weapons we’ve looked at in the past few years there is one in particular that I’ve really been looking forward to review but probably not for the reasons you’d expect you see today we’re not only looking at what I class as one of the more obscure unhe of

Weapons in the game but one which I think is the most pointless and obsolete in Terraria literally having the most nonbrain Alternatives I’ve ever seen of course I’m talking about the Anor now before we do truly question why this thing exists though if you enjoy these weapon reviews don’t forget to drop a

Like and sub as it really helps out the channel okay let’s start at the route of the problem it’s obtainability like a handful of other early hard mode terrar weapons the anchor has restrict itself to the delightful Pastime everybody loves fishing I can already hear people’s disapproval the only thing is

Though unlike other fishing weapons like the blade Tong and Crystal serpent it comes out of pearwood crates this means that with a very basic fishing setup anywhere in your world you can very easily have a crack at obtaining this thing I even found that by just consuming a fishing crate and sonar

Persion alone you’ll have more than enough fishing power to get plenty of pearwood crates quickly and if you are going to go this route said Persians can be crafted with just some basic heads and natural materials very easily and if anything you might want to Nerf your

Fishing power a bit as I found myself getting higher quality crates than I needed either way though despite the anchor having a surprisingly rare 3.78% chance of dropping from those crates managed to get mine after opening just five which if I’m honest isn’t going to

Be typical okay let’s now take a look at what it can do and the real downfall of this weapon now to put it politely the anchor is just a very mid weapon with it basically functioning like a hard mode version of the Haroon which while does offer a neat swinging functionality

Unlike other flails fails to keep up with basically any other ear Hardman alternative in terms of DPS like it’s just miles off and so this is precisely the point where we need to address the massive elephant in the room and no it’s not the chain Guillotines existing and

Dealing loads more DPS but it’s the fact of the dribbler crippler you see aside from this on its own being one of the very best Elli harded weapons in the game its obtainability also comes from fishing and if I’m completely honest he’s easier to get with one or two

Nights of blood moon fishing probably getting you one and well yeah for those of you who don’t know by now the Dr crippler is the Beast of ell hard mode damage with it leaving the anchor for dead on these single Target targets and well against multiple targets I think

You know what’s coming with even the Anchor’s signature ability not closing the gap between it and the competition and going back to the chain Guillotines and not Guillotines like many of you think oh even without any initial piercing I found its return attack to be more than sufficient for this scenario

Also beating the anchor in DPS so yeah things are off to a bit of a rough start but maybe just maybe they’ll improve against the real thing and well if if I am honest here being able to two sh I line of mummies does match that of the

Fable tripler crippler and beats the speed of the chain Guillotines but that’s really where the winds end with it simply being one of the absolute worst weapons in hard mode to take down tanky targets with having all the negatives of low damage accuracy fire rate and not even great range compared

To things like the shadowflame knife and as you’d expect things don’t really lighten up against bosses either with the queen slime really being the only possible boss you should ever consider going up against but even then for the love of God just use a shadowflame knife instead oh and despite its technical

Piercing on return this did not help me at all against the Destroyer basically just being a way to deal very small amounts of damage infrequently to a massive boss that’ll most definitely get the last laugh honestly if someone can actually beat the Destroyer with this thing my mind will be blown it wouldn’t

Even surprise me at this point if it sucked Against the Wall of Flesh wait actually I said a little bit too far still though the reality is if we assumed an average of 26 crates required to get this thing why not just do the fishing during a Blood Moon cuz I’m

Almost certain you’ll get the dripper crippler before beforehand so yeah the anchor possibly one of the most wasted weapons in Terraria which if I’m being honest here with it being introduced in 1.2 and the drer in 1.4 its shortcomings probably just came from its age with it seriously requiring some attention to

Even get a chance of someone unironically going for it but who knows maybe some of you out there secretly adore it and this has been s cries and I’ll see you in the next one

The Anchor, Terraria’s most pointless weapon The Anchor. Today we take a look at a Terraria weapon I’ve been wanted to review for ages now, as despite it not really having any remarkable attributes, it just finds itself as one of the most pointless in the game. With it coming at a point where the same amount of effort can be put in to obtain alternatives like the Drippler Crippler! So enjoy another Terraria weapon roasting for a good 4 mins!

  1. It needs a damage buff and I think it should have infinite piercing regardless, since, y'know, you're throwing an ANCHOR. That thing should be able to pulverize whatever's unfortunate enough to be in its path

  2. if it could hit multiple enemies on its way out, and/or apply either Slow, Weak, or a Broken Armor-like debuff, it would be better. I'm not saying it would be good, just better.

  3. Guillotine pronounced the way it is in America/Canada because we say it the french way due to our close ties with France and in hating the British. Technically youre right but so are we.

  4. 1:16 This isn't how fishing power works! As fishing power increases, the odds of any catch from any rarity bracket goes up, except the "plentiful" bracket. (which only contains bass, or arctic cod and trout in other biomes) and fishing power also speeds up the time to land each catch. I don't think it's ever worth limiting your fishing power.

  5. Hear me out. Give it a spin and pierce ability like other flails. Buff the damage slightly. And give it a debuff that limits enemy movement (anchored).

  6. hello mr sock 😀 you should totally review crit mage. max 100% crit rate and build the emblems. its really insane post golem and even does very well before it since the gear you get can be mainly obtained after mech bosses

  7. I really don't think the anchor is that bad, it's not great, but it's not like it's unsalvageable. As somebody that does regularly fish the obtainability really doesn't sound like much of a hurdle, and compared to the chain guillotines, which you're likely going to want an early hard mode weapon to fight anyway, or the drippler crippler which is just excruciating to farm (Honestly I don't think the two can even be compared, it's like saying there's no point crafting a titanium repeater because you could farm for the uzi instead), I think it has a pretty reasonable niche to sit in. At worst I would get the anchor naturally and use it to farm corrupted mimics for the chain guillotines

  8. There is an idea, made it so it deals a LOT of damage but when it falls on an enemy from above and when comes from foward it pushes the enemy away, but the movement is slower and you fall faster and have trouble swimming qhen equiped

  9. I think a potential buff and interesting mechanic could be that it works like a mace (and of course a damage buff) but when it hits enemies it drags them to you rather then knocking them away, kinda likr a grapple for enemies.

  10. The most pointless weapon in the game imo is the frost daggerfish you can fish for in snow biomes. Is it bad? Not necessarily. Are you ever going to actually go out of your way to sit and fish a worthwhile supply of these? Never!

  11. i started terraria in november, am in early hardmode and was using the anchor bc it seemed the best melee weapon at this point just going off stats, its faster, has more kb and base damage than adamantite or titanium sword, which seemed about the best you can get at that point (by early hardmode i mean pre mech boss)
