Several notes:
1) Dungeon bricks are used here, as they are immune to explosions and keep the boss trapped inside while it is falling
2) You can get dynamite from natural traps as well, if you don't want to spend money
3) I used bee mount to record the footage, but it's not needed here – just let the boss spawn and fall into the trap by sticking to the side pillar

Why would you kill king slime after skeletron?
its unfortunate that the progression doesnt match up well, but to be fair king is a very easy boss
