I couldn’t think if a good rework so I just turned it into a completely different boss. Subscribe for more amazing content.

This rework is part of a large content mod I’m making that won’t become public until I’ve finished all of its Pre-Hardmode content.

  1. This works surprisingly well. The chasms acting as your only method of escape is cool and all, but I like the tension that builds as you stand on the last remaining ground that hasn’t been devoured by that disgusting mass. This could easily be turned into some kind of chase scene

  2. You could make the original idea for the final boss (the moon itself) with something like this. Make it spawn at the top of the world and slowly descend, firing off attacks all the while.

  3. its good work what you did but it doesnt feel natural, instead of making your screen full of projectiles and safe zones you should make it more interactive: a boss should chase the player not penetrate the terrain with random projectiles in random places. when i clicked the video i expected to see the worm eating the terrain or something, this just made it dissapointing and it looks just like a mild bullet-hell type of boss

  4. The redesign is pretty cool in my opinion. It sets up the Wall of Flesh fight with a "One direction, keep moving" boss fight, and still lets you use most of the weapons you would get from shadow orbs. I can only think of three not-quite-problems though.
    1) The most obvious problem is that using melee weapons is pretty much impossible unless if you have a flail or a boomerang, so that Lights Bane you made from defeating the Eye of Cthulhu won't be used for the boss itself. (Although it would enforce players to use either the flail you get from shadow orbs, or diverge from their class)
    2) Because the boss is no longer in segments, you can't get the shadow scales / demonite ore you would get usually (Although I guess that would stop players from halfway defeating the boss, then getting Hellstone)
    3) The Destroyer, since it is a hardmode "Round 2" version of the Eater of Worlds, you are going to be dealing with yet another "Keep running" boss. I'd imagine that for the unprepared individual, they won't be ready for an ascension style boss if they aren't halfway underground. You saw how close that fight was when you were a hundred blocks deep for the second boss that most people fight.

  5. This terrifies me more than the actual EoW when I saw it for the first time, The way it just slowly rises towards the player is nightmare fuel and I love it, Can't wait to see what you do next!

  6. this is a pretty good fight and a neat! I like the idea of those souls going up and being one of the attacks
Also, gonna go full ☝🤓 here but I think the word you are looking for is "Re-imagined", 'rework' feels more like polished or changed to suit better it's original work
Yet, great job! I would really like to see this with more animations and variations, it's awesome!

  7. My only complaint is that you don’t see it as a worm boss. In my opinion it shouldn’t spawn eater of souls and should just spawn the worm in between phase transitions. The worm comes out of the corrupted part of the world and strikes at you while the corruption expansion slows but doesn’t stop. The worm works like usual and can segment, and damaging it would slow down the world eating progress and damage the boss, with it swapping between its corruption form and worm form as the fight goes on. It could either stay as a worm and fight you or go into the eaten part of the world and push it up further while firing a barrage of projectiles as seen with the video here, and hitting the wall of corruption would not damage the boss once the worm comes out. The corruption would stop once you go past the surface while the worm becomes enraged as per usual (but have its projectiles go through blocks this time) so that way it’s the same eater of worlds but it will actually live up to its name to prevent you from escaping. The reason for such a change is as simple as the fact that melee and summoner would really struggle with the floor of EoW as seen here, so the eater should still have its normal phase and stay as that once enough restrictions to where you can go are made. It staying in worm form if you go to the surface would prevent people from just cheesing and dropping nades from anywhere while atop a platform and still damaging the boss without worry, trivializing it completely.

  8. Since it's corruption, it should have miasma in the biome that will slowly damage the players. You can use the mist of the graveyard biome.
It can also corrupt the players, killing and turning them into hostile mobs that doesn't dispawn
