Why this Terraria weapon is finally worth getting… The Piranha Gun. In this video, I take a look at this post-plantera powerful ranger weapon which can be obtained from jungle biome chest in the dungeon. When it was introduced in Terraria 1.2 it was significantly underpowered and has received a load of buffs since then. How does it perform in Terraria 1.4?

  1. You forgot to mention that if one enemy is latched, any subsequent enemies that touch it will receive piranha damage as well, so it technically has AOE. This is why it managed to eat those mimics really quickly, since their hitboxes overlapped each other.

  2. Yeah I tried it against empress, and found out they they inact do indeed come back
It's still such a fun weapon after the inane buffs though.
I also on my ps vita one time years ago went tk the crimson right after defeating wof one timez the jungle was basically interconnected with the crimson biome, so an angry trapper came through the wall and after killing it, I got an UZI AND a jungle key mold at the same time, and yes i was a ranger, which makes it ever so better.

  3. There was this glitch in mobile where you could have a flail or the piranaha gun still out while using another weapon. I thought it was an intended feature and always had the piranha gun on a boss while using my tizona.

  4. you can create a jungle biome with no jungle enemies, with just a simple grid of jungle grass safely contained. no need for lihzard bricks.

  5. I remember using this to kill the Dungeon Guardian for the first time. This made it my favorite of the biome chest weapons, so seeing it get this much attention from the devs really makes me happy.

  6. I don't knwo what is problem with my luck in terraria
Reach hard-mode? It give me desert key
I decide to go for queen slime and I got RoD
I fight queen slime something (I didn't pay attanction) drop hallow kay

  7. I actually had a funny moment with this weapon recently. So a friend of mine who had never played Terraria before wanted to run through it, and since I hadn't for a few years I agreed. So by the time we got to getting the Piranha Gun, he asked if it was any good and I said no because the last time I saw it was on the console version like 5 years ago and it was trash. We were both pleasantly surprised when it was amazing.

  8. Fun fact: the piranhas actually RETAIN any bonuses that they had when launched. Meaning that, if you wear something like the shroomite armor, go into stealth mode and latch the piranhas at one strong enemy/boss, the piranhas will STILL attack the enemy as if you had the stealth attack bonus, even if you aren't anymore.
This is a huge deal, considering if you do this before a boss fight you:

    – Will deal continuous, very strong and quick damage
    – You can just 100% focus on dodging and let the piranhas defeat the boss for you
    – The piranhas deal like 50% more damage that usual, at no cost or downside
    – You don't need to be close to the boss, they will still attack outside your screen
    – You don't need any ammo
    – You don't need any setup
    – Worst case scenario the piranhas somehow detach and you spend 1% of your brain to shoot them again once
    – As they CAN'T miss, that means you naturally just do more damage in general over the course of battle
    – As they automatically home into enemies, that means smaller enemies/minions won't be that much of a pain, and even can aid you to home into the boss if you struggle with fast or bosses with little hitboxes

The piranha gun is my favourite terraria weapon ever and I love it to death. I just wish more people understood how seriously amazing, fun and satisfying it is to use

  9. So can you launch the piranhas at the target and then attack with a different weapon? Or do the piranhas return to the gun if you switch to an other weapon

  10. I wonder how it performs with invasion events such as the martians, or the pillars. This weapon seems to do best against crowds of dispersed enemies

  11. because of the piranha gun's ability to hit multiple targets and slow enemies, AND auto track enemies on screen, this has always been one of my favorite weapons to cheese events with. Glad to see how far it has come since the beginning

  12. If I’m going to be honest I think they should rework the pirhana gun so it uses explosives and make the piranha gun more of a support weapon so it clings onto enemies even when you don’t hold it and deals dps and after like ten seconds explode so it is like a upgraded nail gun but better
