This is a weird idea, but I thought it would interesting if every item in Terraria had a 50/50 chance of being useless. Basically Thanos’ infinity gauntlet spell, but with Terraria items. I added a few tweaks to it here and there to try to make it more even among the pool of items, but overall, this could still be very rough if we lose some important assets…

  1. I am glad that you finally realized mana regeneration potions are the only thing you need for mana regen. It always pains me so much when people use or rely on mana potions, as the mana sickness debuff is actually crippling and nobody seems to realize that it's entirely unnecessary.

  2. i enjoyed the stardew video, and this seems like an interesting challenge, especially becuase you can just reroll it again for a difference challenge. alternatively, you could do things like 'cannot use anything mined or fished, only looted from chests/pots or enemy drops' or the other way around, only mined/crafting items

  3. I have an idea for a Stardew Valley playthrough you could do:

How Fast Can I Get Perfection Using Unpopular Money Making Methods?

concept is simple, it's a Perfection run but you cannot get money using popular methods (most animals, wine, starfruit/ancient fruit, etc)

Alternately, How Fast Can I Become A Millionaire Using Unpopular Money Making Methods?

this is in case Perfection doesn't actually change all that much, tbh I just wanted to get this idea out there

  4. If potions and beds are banned, can you at least use a chair or sofa? When sitting you recover considerably faster. Won't help mid-figkt, but it still means less dosh spent on the nurse.

  5. This would be really interesting for multiplayer/co-op. If you both had a different set of banned items, you could work together by giving each other things you cant use but the other can

  6. What about crafting(or buying) usable items that aren't allowed to further sue them for crafting, e.g. if Specter boots were forbidden, but Lightning, and Specter's ingredients, aren't?

  7. Happy to see Mana Regeneration Potion getting some use, it's so much nicer than spending an accessory slot on a Mana Flower and constantly burning through potions.

  8. If you can, I think a real-time mod to fetch the item ID and crosscheck it against your spreadsheet to display a little red X icon in the item window if something is banned could be really helpful not just to viewers but also to yourself so you don't have to keep switching out to ctrl+F a spreadsheet. Or just change the banned item's text to a strong red color, idk.

  9. you're really good at thinking up new and interesting ways to torture yourself playing this game. normally i wouldn't like that, but…

  10. i suggest using a mod to automatically determine if an item is allowed or not, and write it to the tooltip. i myself am a programmer, but i have no experience with terraria modding. it cannot be that hard, id suggest asking your audience or somewhere on tmodloader servers for mod as such. it would literarily take five minutes of anyone having the slightest experience with tmodloader programming

  11. Honestly, the band of mana regen is, in my opinion, nearly impossible to play mage without. Maybe it's just because I loathe mana sickness to a too-far degree but I hate how utterly neutered you feel when using mana potions while ranger gets to go brrrrr and not care. And mana regen without that ring is utterly ridiculous in how slow it is.
I took that ring all the way to moon lord last time I played mage.
