Did nerfs destroy this Terraria weapon? The Quad Barrel Shotgun. Terraria’s 1.4 update introduced a handful of new an unique weapon throughout progression. Included in this, was the weapon we’re going to be looking at today- the quad barrel. What makes this weapon interesting, is just how much its been nerfed since its introduction. Having its damage, fireate and obtainability utterly destroyed in more recent updates. The question is, with its new performance, is it even worth getting at all?

This things so inaccurate it honestly makes you feel like a stormtrooper lol
Tbh it isn’t that bad but the skeleton needing to be defeated is the biggest “nerf” since the damage values actually scaled upwards. They reduced damage slight but gave it more pellets 24×4 (96) and ending in 14×8 (112) harder to benefit from the insane spread it’s honestly stronger if you can get them to all connect
I got this thing early in my first run in the patch it was released in. That shit was absurdly broken, and very fun. I’m of the opinion that they don’t need to nerf as many weapons as they do, it’s a sandbox, if I wanna get an op weapon, let me. That said it was nuts
though i dont exactly swear by it, this thing is my favorite option against the wall of flesh solely because youre essentially guaranteed to hit something with its super wide spread
i did a gun-only playthrough, and it took me 13 tries the beat wof until i used the quad barrel. i still love that gun to this day.
The comment about the tooltip not matching knocked me right out of the video for how wrong it is… Then I remembered sockreteez isn't American so he has no reason to know how shotguns work

i mean you can buy minishark in day one and that weapon is multiple times better than this pre skeletron one.

I used it on my very first mastermode world before it was nerfed and man do I miss it
Still stormtroopers are worse
I like to use it with meteorite shot, 8 bullets with a single bounce makes a pretty big difference
I feel like it should also be mentioned despite being a pre-hm weapon, if you pair it with crystal bullets you can absolutely shred destroyer and fishron early hm
