Stardew Valley is a simulation role-playing video game developed by Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone. Players take the role of a character who takes over their deceased grandfather’s dilapidated farm in a place known as Stardew Valley. The game was released for Windows in February 2016 before being ported to several other computer, console, and mobile platforms.
Stardew Valley is open-ended, allowing players to take on activities such as growing crops, raising livestock, fishing, cooking, mining and foraging, and socializing with the townspeople, including the ability to marry and have children. It also allows up to four players to play online together.
Barone developed Stardew Valley by himself over four years. He was heavily inspired by the Harvest Moon series, with additions to address some of the shortcomings of those games. He used it as an exercise to improve his own programming and game design skills. British studio Chucklefish approached Barone midway through development with the offer to publish the game, allowing him to focus more on completing it.
Stardew Valley was praised by critics, who highlighted the game’s music, characters, and relaxing qualities, with it later being cited as one of the greatest video games of all time. Yasuhiro Wada, the creator of Harvest Moon, also praised the game for retaining the freedom that later entries of his series had lost. The game was also a commercial success, selling over 20 million copies by 2022.

This was the perfect review for me. It was the first I watched and pushed me right over the fence I was on. I kept hanging in for the next exciting reason I'll love this game! Thank you!
just got this game for me and my girl, very excited. awesome video and review.
This was a really nice chill insightful and useful video. I will watch your NMS video soon as I love that game as well. Subbed.
I havent played it since around 2018 and it was so much fun, but not that much to do in my opinion. Of course there was alot to do, but it kinda ended for me at least after Desert etc
I have seen that they added new stuff, but im not sure if i am about to jump back into Stardew or wait for the new game Haunted Chocolatier
Little did you know here I am in 2023 sitting here using your review to decide if I'm willing to buy this game
You sound like a great dad 😄😄
I just got myself a Switch Oled and looked up this game.
Your video was my favourite and summed up the information I needed. So, it's downloading now…
I also enjoyed your review style so, I Liked and Subbed 👍
Thanks, mate 🇬🇧😊
The Stardew Valley community forgives you
I return to this game at least every other year, sometimes once a year. It’s so addicting and I am always able to get sucked right back into it
wtf thats messed up man, you stole your own daughter farm you should be in jail 🤣
Edite: im on the edge of buying Stardew valley i dont know why to be honest, Ive w atch multiple 100 days videos of creators that played the game and i love watching it and i do love farming games, im 99.9% on the egde of buying it
Tried Stardew for the first time yesterday and I saw blown away by how … relaxing it was. Normally I play strategy games that get pretty intense, but just blowing an hour fishing is so nice.
How do you get into this game, I've tried but it didn't work out. Maybe I need to try again 🤔
I just finished watching your video of stardew valley and I was really skeptical of the game itself! But first lemme say this your video my man was beautiful from the beginning to end it kept me drawn in and I loved it! Always watched ign reviews for games but now that I've seen yours it's all I'm gonna rely on! You make amazing videos with honest heart to it! And your review was spot on my man the game is amazing! It's one of those that just make you wanna play mote but in that serene way!
I thought this was solely a farming game as well and so happy I finally gave it a chance and it's awesome
Lovely vibe to your review. Subbed as soon as you'd finished. Great job
There is something really nice about “reviews” done 5, 10, or even 20 years after release. There is a wonder and a joy that just isn’t there in veteran no matter how great the game is. [Halo, especially 343 guilty spark, is a prime example.] even after completing this game, there is a joy about the fact that you might not know everything and that spoilers are still possible. Not that most people would. It’s just cool having a conversation with something who doesn’t know the deep magic of a game that’s been out for so long. I’d guess you’d call it refreshing
I started playing stardew valley form
the very start, I was addicted to it within about 10 minutes in.
I have started a new gamertag and bought the game again just to get all the achievements all over again, and no doubt I will be doing the same with the haunted chocolatier when it comes out by Concerned Ape..
I would kill a man just to play this game for the first time again. A first playthrough is filled with so much wonder and whimsy that it truly is an unforgettable experience
Thanks, I needed an honest take on this game! To see if it can scratch my homesteading / farming itch.
I'm 7 months late, and have not played. But I will, and you gave me that feeling. Stress relief? An escape? Whatever it is, it feels right. First time watcher, but a definitiv sub.
I just wanted a simple farming game I said……down load stardew valley they said…….I was not prepared…..what an absolutely incredible game this truly is,I recommend it to everyone.
Considering getting for my switch oled
Yeaaaaa…and they shit all over Gollum…people are simply put: extremely stupid
I'm on the fence about getting this, it's not something I'd normally play but after watching this, I'm going to give it a try 👍
Could not agree more…..
