There is a clock using an armor stand with a pressure plate and a piston, which is the exact same speed as 3 hoppers can fill up 9 slots ((9 / 3) * 4rt = 12rt = 24gt). This is a coincidence, and the crafter is never checked for how full it is.
Why:
For fun. Note this is not meant to be a practical design, involving entities and such. I just wanted to see how small I could get it.
