Stardew Valley is an open-ended country life RPG. That may sound boring but it is quite the opposite. We have inherited our grandfather’s old farm plot in Stardew Valley and it’s up to us to make something of ourselves! We’ll take on tasks such as farming(of course!), fishing, cooking, exploring, and meeting the other residents of Stardew Valley along the way.
Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won’t be easy. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. The community center, once the town’s most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness.

Mobs are actully worth the time if the ladder hasnt spawned because they have a 15 percent chance of spawning the ladder

clear land + get 50 wood
get as many forageables as possible
get all weeds
try to get an artifact for extra gold
try to save 1 of each forageable (mixed seeds)
get as many parsnips as possible (50+)

clear inventory and get fishing rod
fish at mountain lake until you pass out
eat chubs, algae and cola for energy

I have about half the money you do following this guide. I fish and mine longer then you but get zero iridium quality anything. Is it just bad luck?
I thought I had the best luck when I did my first playthrough after watching this guide, since on my first day not only did I get an artifact spot, it was an Ancient Seed, so I had the opportunity to start getting Ancient Fruit by Summer! But literally everything past that point was super unlucky. I didn't get anywhere near as much fish, didn't get any valuable treasures, my luck in the mines was poor, and all that led up to me not getting as many potatoes, which means my farming wasn't high enough for quality sprinklers and I didn't have enough gold by the egg festival for strawberry seeds. Why do all the First Spring guides I watch have the person get like 10k+ gold from fishing only by day 5, when I can barely hit 6-7k?
Small question, on days 3 and 4 with the chests placed down, when is a good time to claim the items from the chests? I know not to forget about them, but do I make a few extra trips specifically for them?

So yeah… on Day 6 I had nowhere even close to 10,000 gold needed for the 193 potato seeds. Uhh, backup strat please?
I was running behind on day 2 I didn't get as lucky with foragables I think and I bought the rod and bait and accidently sold all my bait back and only had enough money for a couple after 🥲
I'm a fairly new player I've played a couple worlds by myself and a couple with my friends
If I’m really bad at fishing could I wait until getting a training rod and then fishing until I pass out? Or is it best to keep using the rod Willy gives on day 2 even if I’m terrible at fishing?
i would like to do this only on the first spring and take it easier for the rest of the playthrough

I reset so much and ended up getting half the money I need on day 6
Chests, on the first day make 100 wood from trees (leave the stumps) to build one chest at the farm and one at the fishing spot (or more if you go for more fishing spots) so you can keep everything and don't have to throw away any resources

This is a great reference! However I am unable to keep up with you on your fishing skill lol so it takes at least a week longer to even get close to this kind of early game snowball

i couldnt even get to lvl 2 fishing the second day, i could barely get 35- 40 copper with 2 infested floors (btw i didnt had coal or money anyways), i could only buy 100 patatoes and i dont really think this is doable for everyone every single run. And perfect catch the first day i got the rod? im sorry fish have to not move for that. catfish on level 3? i dont think so.
As much as i want to min max, i dont really want to repeat days and get stressed you know, this is stardew

Super helpful! I finally completed the community center AND unlocked Ginger Island before the end of year 1, thanks to you! Having all that extra money at the beginning really pays off.

Ok so I started to prioritize chests when fishing and got a Neptune Sword 18-35 damage on day 3 before I even opened the mines. IM SHOOK
To get fiberglass rod AND catfish even sooner:
Day 1 – Meet all 27 available NPCs in town, scythe weeds for Mixed seeds, craft a chest, plant and water your Parsnips + Mixed seeds.
Day 2 – Water your crops, craft another chest, grab a rock, open your mail, meet willy for a free bamboo rod, fish until 4:30 and sell all fish to willy, buy a fiberglass rod and some bait. continue to fish until you pass out.
Day 3 – It rains today you do not need to water. Sell the fish from yesterday, take your rod to willys, buy 3 trout soup and tons of bait, get your chest from willys and bring it to the river by Leahs house. Catch catfish here until you pass out. Use trout soup to make it easier.
Three year after post gang here, this guide is already doing numbers for me. I even happened to get the grass/leaves hat on day one. I will say that I’ve been holding on to all the fish caught instead of selling them to maybe get a bigger payday. Also holding onto a single one of the community center items of everything as well. Day five now. Hope it goes well!
Amazing guide, still coming back to this after 3 years whenever i want to start over. As far as i know the strategies in this guide still work today.
