It’s now my second most favorite weapon, after the Daybreak. If only it worked like a boomerang like shown in the end screen – that’d be amazing.

Yeah, the Ghastly Glaive is great in design, but useless in combat… Wish it had a good use, if it isn't going to get an upgrade.
Imagine using spears knowing full well that most swords have projectiles

If the update the game again, I hope they show some love to spears, boomerangs and yoyos, after the latest update there really isn't any reason to use them instead of swords and they feel very basic, they should make spears focuse on long but focused attack, boomerangs should have an arc and maybe special ones could have ricochet or other special attacks and they should yet you do tricks with yoyos to style on your opponent, as well as letting you use multiple at a time
I have the glade, and did tear 3 old ones army and enjoyed it.

Post mechs I got this weapon but I had all the ingredients for the true night's edge so I just didn't bother using it.
Spears and flails need help like the swords got
I wish I knew a good terraria modder. I've had an idea to fix all spears to bring up their damage to at least be competent vs other melee weapons.

All of the weapons from the event are really REALLY cool…. but you're just never in a position to really get the best use out of them. It kinda sucks.

I didn't know this weapon exists because I always completely ignore OOA's existance.
He mentioned a Terraria youtuber's name, known for his silly challenges that puts him thru many pain. And i wont mention his yt name. Lol
i need to make a mod list with as many new weapons as i can, yoyos,spears,bows,rifles etc. and armour with accesories. but its sooo hard to find
That reminds me I need to find a mod to nerf the old ones army. I don't mind hard but without more people the event is effectively impossible and impossible is not fun.
Why do people hate OOA so much? it's probably my favorite event as a summoner (the class that benefits from placing down 30934094034904903490 turrets) but other classes have better armors and good Aoes so… why is it so hated?
I can play OOA at anytime in my playthrough.

I really hope in 1.4.5 the ooa weapons get some major buffs to make them worth the struggle.

The spear is quite useful against plantera
The ghasts help out with the tentacles and deal extra dps in the 1st phase
I think the reason why peopple hate old one's army is just skill issue, jk. But really this event really enforces use of all staffs, they make the event so much easier and people just can't learn it. What also should be noted that people still think that OA is hard cause they haven't enough practice with it. It's not like u defeated twin the first try. And Dreadnautilus/EoL/Queen slime fall under this category, og players complain that they are hard, while in reality they are not. They just require a bit of patience out of u.
And the worst part? You have a chance of getting the Tome of Infinite Wisdom from tier 2 OOA. Want some amazing single target dps? Primary fire is fast and cheap to shoot. Want infinite piercing? Just press right click and it summons a running tornado that 3 shots The Destroyer. The Ghastly Glaive cannot and will not win against any of that.
always forget spears exist until i find one in a chest (partially because i don't play melee, and partially because spears are lame af).
Spears are great for crowd control but notveverything should be super fancy to be fun and versitile
