I was asked to give some recommendations for a first modded playthrough! While picking out the mods I wanted to use, I realized that Stardew has such a wide range of players that there’s no universal set of mods, so I decided to make three! Each set will change the game to a different extent. Of course, if there’s something you want to add or remove from any of these sets, feel free to! These are just recommendations, nothing is set in stone!

  1. I know this video is old but I just got into modding. I am so grateful that you added a “Required Mods” section. This has saved me a lot of time to make sure everything runs smoothly

  2. how do give yourself the tractor? cuz i downloaded the mod and i have to get iridium and 150,000g. do i have to give myself money and the items to get it or is there a thing where i can get it automatically

  3. Fun fact, as a vegetarian, I did not realise that all of the cooking in the vanilla game is vegetarian, up until now when I discovered the magic-meat-cleaver-wand-mod. :'-)

  4. My first Stardew Valley playthrough was on the PS4 and on the switch. Now I have a pc and I am so curious about modding 😍 this is such a great video for beginners, to have a clue of what you can do with mods. Thank you for this kind of content 🎉

  5. All these mods make Stardew Valley looks a lot like Rune Factory.
If you guys never played Rune Factory, give it a go, it's amazing!

  6. I tried downloading the Stardew valley expansion mod but some of the required mods don't work, which is probably the reason why the mod itself doesn't do anything. What should I do now? If I open the game Smapi lists all of your mods right? some of the required mods turn yellow and it sais that they'll break after the next Smapi update. help pls TvT

  7. This really helped me. Your mod playlist has the most helpful information period on mods for beginners. I really appreciate the way you thought this through and organized it for this vid. Applause!

  8. definitely not yet interested in expanded or really any visual mods (yet, at least) but having fun with the basically cheating chests anywhere/ convenient chests mods as well as UI suit 2, upgrades for things that aren't upgradable (pan, bucket, sheers) and a few bits and pieces I've picked up from this video and elsewhere… It's actually so great.
Better ranching, spring in the bat/mushroom cave…
Choosing stuff that helps you with annoying challenges… while making sure not to trivialise too much (at least, not quickly) at the same time.

I have my switch for non-mods. But I freely admit to going crazy with them!

  9. Meat cleaver wand People upset cause it was "too violent" even though it has zero gore??? yall dont deserve to be on games if this really bothers you lmao

  10. I'm surprised you didn't include CJB Show Item Sell Price. Such a wonderful, unintrusive mod. Mouse over an item or stack, and it shows you what it sells for, both for an individual item, and the whole stack. Really useful when you're trying to figure out just how much you need to fish up to be able to afford the upgrade/building/etc that you need.

  11. Question: Can I use a mod to a previous save I have? Like can I just continue my previous save but with a mod or do I have to start all over again?

  12. Hey Sal,
Thank you for all the detailed and lovely tutorials on so many SDV topics! I finally got SDV on PC and am looking forward to try out my first ever modded game.

    But one question still remains:
If I start right of with all mods from the light AND the medium package (and add a couple more from your other videos) will my laptop survive that? How many mods can you add into one save file before it crashes?

  13. Does the tractor use energy or supplies, it looks like it took a lot of the later game stuff purposes away, like how the upgraded watering can and hoe can work on a big plot of land at once.

  14. Me who nodded my first nodded playtrhough with Male seb expansion, earthly recolor, remember my marriage, dcburger portrait, visible fish, medieval building and crafting :

  15. For my "First" playthrough I just want to enjoy the game vanilla. Then we can talk about the mods. I don't want to overtune the game, I don't want it to be overpowered. I want to keep the challenge, I rather want to make the game more interesting and give it some quality of life, but I don't want to make it become a crutchfest with complicated options making the game butter lightweight easy because of benefitting from the mods too much.
