Once upon a time I did a run to complete the Community Center as early as I possibly could. This is that run.

Big shoutout to Raistlin. We had numerous brainstorming sessions working out seed requirements and timings of various milestones.

Seed: -638161535 (same results if using 3656805761)
To use this yourself on 1.5 and above, enter 3 in the seed box, then paste in 656805761

FAQ:
Q: Why is this on 1.4?
A: Because 1.5 wasn’t out when I started the run. 1.5 got released partway into the run, but I kept going on 1.4 to keep the run on the same version.

Q: Would 1.5 be easier?
A: YES! Red Cabbage Seeds are a lot easier to find on 1.5.

Q: Could you do this earlier on a single on 1.5 if you remix the bundles?
A: Theoretically yes. However no seed exists that give you the needed remixed bundles AND contains all you need from the cart in time.

Q: What about dynamic seeds?
A: Ah, dynamic seeds is its own beast. Yes, I believe I can complete the entire CC with remixed bundles in 2 weeks with dynamic seeds. I will be attempting this run on Twitch in the near future and will be making a video on that too.

Q: Where is Gordon?
A: He is in the video! I did not have the cat cam set up at the start of the run, and only set it up partway through the red cabbage seed grind. I made sure to include footage of him!

  1. This seems like it would stress me out a lot. I already get stressed trying to min-max my days in SV; props to what you do.

  2. Lewis: "Ehh, this building had a great history… Too bad it lost its former glory"
Farmer: "Ight bet, I can restore it in a month"

  3. At 24:26 you showed what seems to be the source code for the game. Is this information publicly available? Has this game been decompiled? (It technically would be relatively easy considering this is C#) Or has ConcernedApe shared snippets of the source somewhere? Its a pretty nice look into the game's mechanics!

  4. I had an idea for a speedrun today: master angler speedrun. it doesn't seem like anyone's done it before, but blade is the only person I believe could possibly do it. you'd need to unlock the walnut room AND the island resort, and trying to speedrun getting to ginger island is a whole other thing. I doubt anyone will ever do this insane challenge, but it's still a fun idea.

  5. also blade, I really just want to say that I really love your style of speedrun. I'm not big into the speedrunning scene, and in fact the only conventional video game that I have a deep understanding (and time spent according to steam) is stardew, and I enjoy the world of stardew speedruns. however, I'm not crazy about the frantic real world timed conventional speedruns. they're honestly just too stressful for me, but also, I absolutely hate that style of playing stardew, where you just sleep a bunch of days. I greatly prefer to "fewest days spent" over "littlest real time spent", I think it requires more creativity and satisfying effort, and just better matches the pace of playing that I like.

you never do that, you are absolutely "make every second count of every day count", so immediately you've won my heart. I think your unbelievably thorough understanding of this game is far more impressive than blunt reflex skills. your approach towards achieving goals at an unbelievable date in the game is so enjoyable and fascinating to watch. it comes across as true mastery of the game, but you also are creative and keep coming up with new self imposed challenges that are more ridiculous than the last. and it feels like a true love of the game. you don't spend THIS much time understanding and mastering a game unless you really enjoy and appreciate it, especially a game like stardew with so many nuanced mechanics and an infinite skill ceiling. that love really comes through in your videos, and I really enjoy that. sorry for rambling, but I just really like how you speedrun. also, your accent rocks and I'm in love with your cat. what a lovely little guy.
