I put the Old Man, Dwarf and Goblin Tinkerer together in the Shimmer so I’d have a fast travel portal there. They don’t seem too fond of having each other as neighbors. The Dwarf wants to strap the goblin to a rocket and watch him explode, The Goblin get’s an uneasy feeling around the Old Man, And the Old Man is chill with everybody.
Strange though, You’d think the Goblin would want to move in with the Mechanic in the snow biome.

I sent zoologist to hell but I haven’t dug that deep so desert it is
To get the mushroom pylon you have to put the dye trader or stylist in the mushroom buome

Small tip, if u dont know the most loved biome for npc's, go to bestiary, and click on an npc, their background says the boime
The nurse can be put in the desert as well so long as she's paired with the arms dealer, same goes with the goblin in the snow biome with the mechanic

You can. Put the guide with the truffle this way the truffle will sell the mushroom pylon

My recommendation is to not follow most of this.
Forest: Merchant, Zoologist, and Golfer
Desert: Nurse and Arms Dealer
Snow: Goblin, Mechanic, Steampunker, and Cyborg
Underground: Clother, Tax Collector, Tavern Keep, and Demolitionist
Ocean: Dye Trader, Stylist, Pirate, and Angler
Jungle: Painter, Witch Doctor, and Dryad
Hallow: Princess, Wizard, and Party Girl
Mushroom: Mushroom Guy, and Guide

Cool tip: Since the guide will not manage money in anyway their happiness isn't important, you can use him to improve Truffle Happiness at no cost
Fun fact: the guide doesn't prefer, but likes the mushroom biome

Better thing to is put the goblin tinkerer and the mechanic in the underground snow so their both in they right biome
