I beat the game with summoner class on legendary mode
A summoner sub class, necromancer summoner class. Basicly summons undead mobs and when killing anything it gives you a soul to summon the undead. You can summon unlimited amount but the summons can die and from just summoning skeletons, you could summon skeleton dragon, different types of skeletons from normal to worrior to archer to mage. You could have your own skeleton worm and so on. You could summon zombies too and just anything undead.
Id be down seeing a full playthrough of this modpack

This hits a little closer to how I’d design summoner, but what I have in mind would be a complete overhaul at the base mechanical level – and waaay too much to post here lol
Me personally I prefer melee also it's just a lot more agresave
i suggest also adding the better classes mod it adds a good amount of whips and accesprys

i just started summoner playthrough in calamity infernum, and as a pretty much only melee main with over 1k hours in terraria, its cools af, the only thing that i find out missing is the lacks of minions and very few whips, ive been using to hardmode like only 2 whips and after the hardmode pretty much been stuck with one whip until plantera

Terraria really needs to give a big buff to the Summoner class.

As one of the few wierdos who always prefered the sentry minion playstile, like a turret summoner (god i'd love like buff pylon summons) i highly appreciate this mod collection
summoners are so desperate to be oppressed despite literally being the best of them
The crux cards seem like a really cool idea i hope they expand upon it in the future, just the idea of summoning a army is just cool

Can JoJo mod be considered as a summoner mod? Stands don't do summon damage, but you summon them and you need to hurt yourself to get a stand… sooo
for anyone that plays summoner in calamity or something, there is a mod (unofficial calamity whips) and it’s rlly cool and does work and it’s pretty balanced ngl
I think Calamity does some unique things with their minions, from the mycelium clump accessory to minions that take more than one slot to summon
To be honest i also want a mod that you summon a boss as summoner its like you spend 5 minion slot for one boss i mean the real not the mini version
I play on Xbox and I really wish I could have these mods but I can’t it would be super fun to do a playthrough with
