Moonstone island is a monster taming, deck building, life sim, farming and crafting game with a ton of love put into it. In this video, we will discuss whether or not the game is worth picking up on steam (and switch in the future).

yu-gi-oh? that looks like slay the spire
can we not call it pokemon? lets use something good instead like nexomon or cassette beasts.
hey ed, do you have any tips for getting more moonstones?
Thank you so much for your review, Ed!!!
And yeahhh we know about the discard pile bug, we're working on it 😀
It looks very cute, I think I might get this sometime when I’m not broke aha. The Sprite art in particular reminds me of Gen 3 Pokémon and Link’s Awakening remake(but pixelated instead of 3D), and also of Stardew Valley with the portraits of the characters and general UI. The travel mechanics & some of the creatures do remind me a bit of Pokémon but some are more crazy cause I saw a beach ball with sunglasses which is funny. Also the card system reminds me a bit of Wizard 101 which is an interesting combination of stuff in the game.
The only grip I have so far with the game is not being able to customize my character, is not something that would make me not recommend the game or drop it but is a little of a let down (even if they never promised that and I already knew about it before going into the game).
I sure like the look of it….going to have to give it a try.
The review I've been waiting for!
in terms of farming, i played the demo and im.
honestly, i think stardew is the only game where i genuinely enjoy the farming a lot . it gives me a lot of joy and dopamine to farm in stardew.
Game has shit ton of minor issues and some medium, like with skill tree. But still it is nice to play.
Apparently items are really unbalanced in this game, being so good they can make battles a joke, at least according to one review. Hoping to see if that gets addressed at any point
Does the game have a time limit? I saw a gameplay video where there was a quest to spend a year away from home and it got me wondering if the game had a time limit…
This is available on steam?
Is the game that short for a review already?
cant believe such a game was built on Construct 3
Did my eyes just spot radlad from ooblets?!!
this is something ive always thought is dumb. in monster taming games, say you have a water monster. why not make it so the crops you have can be watered faster or automatically by your creature? if by taming more monsters you could farm more efficiently then its a win win
i love deck builders and the art/music/general vibe looks so nice!
also not a fan of farming games, but great to hear you can avoid that side of it, will def check it out when it comes to switch!
Wtf is moon stone
Tried the demo, it'd pretty fun, but I too wasn't drawn in by the farming and social aspects.
