Terraria world: You have beach on the left, and on the right… you get beach as well. But what if you go further beyond pass the vast seas? Well, that’s just impossible, since the game blocks you with invisible barriers. Ah yes, the barrier, a video game standard… But the world is round, right? This means you’re supposed to circumvent the world! But Terraria doesn’t allow that, so why is that? Perhaps the world is flat after all… or, maybe there is a way that allow you to cross the sea and reach to the other beach..?

  1. Imagine if it were to be like smooth, as in having worldgen be accurate and the camera staying with the character. That would be better.

  2. Would be better if the mod changed the generation to completely loop around, and to display the blocks that are on the other side

  3. One thing I always thought would be perfect for Terraria is a Noita-Like world loop, where at the other end of the ocean is a mirrored version of your world. It wouldn't have anything you built, but would keep everything you've unlocked like the dungeon or chlorophyte. It would also 'reload' any natural chest spawns, basically giving you another chance at getting rare chest drops without having to make an entire new world!

The other main difference could be that ore and corruption are switched as well! The best way to explain it would be that if your 'main' world is Crimson with Iron and Mythril, the 'mirror' world would have Corruption with Lead and Orichalcum.

It would keep going practically infinitely, switching ores and corruption each time, but if you use a recall potion (or, y'know, die), it would send you back to your Main world, no matter where you set your spawn point in the Mirrored worlds.

  4. It would be cool if there was a mod that made it so that the world loops around itself so that you can go from one ocean to another without teleporting, simulating the effect of an actual planet

  5. It would also be neat to get vertical looping. I've wanted to see an "underside" biome, where it resembles playing with reversed gravity, with the ground above you and an empty sky below you. Ideally, Hell/The Underworld would actually be at the center of the map, and going deeper would gradually reverse the biomes going through a cavern and underground layer until you reach the underside "surface". Falling off of the underside would loop you back around to the top of the "overside".

While it would be hard to reflect this with in-game physics, I imagine a world like this having a gravitational field that resembles magnetic field lines, where falling off the very edge actually causes you to loop back around in a tight circle, and the closer to the center of the island you are, the wider the circle of gravity is. This means that buildings would need to curve away from the island's center in order to follow the curve of gravity, and the curve would get more exaggerated the farther from the center you were. You could actually build a tower so high that it would curve all the way around to the underside. This would also help to conserve resources like water and atmosphere, rather than just having them endlessly leak off of the island into the void of space.

  6. This reminds me of that game about space often compared to Terraria.
    What was it again?
    Star… starb… Space Border!

  7. Idk why but this has got me nostalgic for 1.0. The world felt so big… So wonderful… So interesting-It felt hard, it felt awesome-everything you did was an achievement in of itself.

But my PS3 met the trash can, and well…

Nothing built can last forever I guess.
