This Terraria weapon is severely underrated… The Christmas Tree Sword. In this video, I take a look at this post-Plantera melee weapon that packs much more of a punch than I expected. For the longest of times, I kept well clear of this weapon and saw it as more of a joke sword, but after receiving numerous buffs throughout its life span, the damage it can dish out is really impressive! It’s also very easy to obtain considering it’s a Frost Moon drop. Only requiring Everscreams to spawn. You should give it a go!

  1. Try using the sword with the mechanical bosses
Just by making a railway system across the map and go from one end to the other the boss would just following you and just keep swinging the sword if you angle it correctly all the projectiles would hit the boss dealing high damage

  2. I love this sword! Also thank you for not killing Dr man fly in the beginning.. at least I think you didn't kill him.

Edit:what if there was a magic weapon just like the corruption thorn staff one but instead of thorns its Christmas lights@

  3. The main issue is that there isn’t much to use it on

Even if you counted all event bosses, mini bosses, each pillar, non required bosses, it’s still not enough

    (I’m doing a unique/rarely used weapons playthrough,
I’ll need to do it twice for Melee and Mage,

Ranger could work but I’d need to cheat in weapons,
and I’m not sure if said weapons are strong enough (they should be

Summoner works best, but even still, it feels a bit rushed at the end with unnecessary whips and summons

Even including Ocram wouldn’t be enough, but it would solve a few issues with Ranger (Vulcan repeater/star cannon and Titan armor anyone?

(Titan armor and the Star cannons would have 98/100% chance not to consume ammo respectively, fun stuff)

  4. I have to completely disagree with your statement on the devs "fixing" the loss of identity for melee, in 1.4.4 melee is still projectile heavy.

The melee class had a single projectile weapon actual made in to a proper melee weapon, that being the true excalibur. But the 1.4.4 update gave use even more projectile melee weapons such as light's bane, blade of grass and most spears (technically).

If you think about the 1.4.4 melee changes as an improvement, than yeah it definitely is one, but it certainly wasn't a fix for the core complaint that I've heard for melee previously, that being
"that melee weapons get way too projectile reliant the farther you get"

It just slapped a new coat of paint on some weapons and that seems to have blinded most people to the fact that melee is still just projectile spam as it was previously, if not even more so now.

  5. This weapon actually helped me get through the celestial pillars my first time playing the game. It was good for taking out out low flying enemies while crashing down on ground ones while my Terrablade although stronger, could only shoot swords in one direction at a time

  6. I used this alongside turtle armor and my friend used the spectre healing set and golden shower – we turned Golem into a miserable little pile of orange rocks. Ten times in a row, with no pauses.

  7. The reason I don’t use Christmas Tree sword for crowd control is that it only has medium range. Weapons like the scourge of the corruptor and terra blade can reach and kill far away enemies, but this weapon can’t.

  8. I only just used this for the first time recently! Wow 😲 it's awesome!! So great for carpet bombing and kiting enemies through the chaos. it's so good against duke!!

  9. Personally, I don't think it's worth it. It's not a bad weapon by any stretch, but it's unfortunately stacked against the Terra Blade which just does everything so well. Crowd Control? Terra's beams are bigger faster and deal comparable DPS. Bosses? Certainly not lacking but neither is Terra. Obtainability? Semi-Rare Event Drop, same as the Broken Hero Sword. Personally I just don't see any compelling reason to use it over the Terra Blade, which is unfortunately the relegation of many Post Golem options.

  10. I think magic on the viability scale is kinda just super up and down tbh you either get something like Crystal serpent to carry you to Golem or you have to pray for pre skeletron water bolt (no longer possible lol) or have actually 0 weapons.
