Terraria’s fastest mount may surprise you… The Hexxed Branch. In this video, we take a look at the fastest ground based mount in all of Terraria… The Tree. Aside from been utterly ironic how a tree usually doesn’t move, this mount is an absolute blast to use and can be obtained quite easily providing that you’re playing on master mode. Other than that though, perhaps its more of a gimmick item more than anything else, but that’ll be for you to decide!

I love the complete irony that fastest mount is a literal TREE!
He admitted that he click baited fishron is 1mp faster. But seriously whats wrong with the mounts in this video they are all in the floor

Ive actually found decent use in it as basically a weak dash accessory, it not quite as good as something like ninja gear, but its decent enough that it can be used to free up an accessory slot
I never really use it because with the right accessories your character can end up running faster than if not as fast as that mount, so I use the slimy saddle or gelatinous pillion for vertical mobility instead which is insanely useful.
You can quickly switch to this mount mid air to accelerate faster in bossfights
There was a old gen arrow that freezes the enemy. Its a heart-shaped arrow. I cheesed the dungeon guardian on the beginning of the game.

I actually use the hexed branch as one of my main mounts, the flying is dealt with my wings and a soaring insignia, and the accessories loss isn’t to bad for me, but I can see how it can affect others

You can use wings to get up in the air, use a dash accessory and then quicly switch to this mount to go full speed flying with this thing.
Surprisingly, helped me defeat duke fishron in my legendary mode playthrough and absolutely cheesed the crap out of empress of light.

Pro tip: Dashing then using your mount allows you to accelerate much quicker because you're already at a high speed after dashing. This helps a LOT in making fast and speedy turns in boss fights such as Mechdusa or the Moonlord, as well as getting around places when you dont want to slowly accelerate again after hitting something
Hexxed branch fits my playstyle perfectly! I never really use flying mounts cus they're too slow while turning around the boss, whilst cursed tree (or the goat from WoF, depends on the stage of progression) can be used with dashes VERY effectively, especially against duke fishron or EoC cus you need a lot of mobility to outrun these bosses. Also I just love killing the UFO with it. You just fly in one direction away from it, use dash + mount while UFO uses its laser, repeat until dead.
Also, you can travel insanely fast around the map by just flying to the space, dash + mount combined with low gravity grants you a whopping 100+ kmh when moving diagonally w max speed
In my opinion, hexxed branch is the most useful mount in terms of horizontal mobility, which really helps dodging bosses' attacks and it is a great mount to have in gerenal

Excellent for bosses like eol, lunatic cultist, since you can run for your life while blasting the boss and needing to dodge very few attacks.
I’ve been using this mount for 6~ months now. If you build an asphalt highway, I’ve seen people going 120+ mph

The tree mount is honestly very good for dodging Empress' bolts and her Everlasting Rainbow as long as you have a long ish platform to run on which I usually build in my worlds.
