Oh nice to see this back. Hope your IRL stuff works out awesome. I usually do a hellivator near the ocean as well, but I do it on the side of the jungle, just so I can access shimmer; but you've set up your cavern base there, so doesn't matter which side you make a hellivator. 😀
Python the rework to the fiery great sword is the volcano kind of making it a new weapon that you haven't used yet.
For Hardmode maybe you could try and get one of the evil weapons that you get from fishing in the evil biomes (Bladetongue & Toxikarp). A trick I suggest is making an artificial evil biome with grass seeds (grass is the easiest way to make an artificial biome) and a layer of floating stone blocks
