Just how bad is Terraria’s worst expert item? The Volatile Gelatin. In this video, I take a look at debatably the worst expert item drop in the whole game, to see if it really lives up to all its disappointment. I find it funny how some expert items like the Spore Sac, Worm Scarf etc can be so incredibly useful, and then we just get thrown the odd one like this, which is simply just useless. I like to think that this is even worse than the Gravity Globe, as at least that can be used for some minigames lol

Nah bro bone helm is waaay worse. I’m pretty sure they just randomly made it cuz they couldn’t think of an original idea
imagine if you could hit the slime balls and they had some kind of special effect. Either the slime balls themselves could increase in velocity and damage or they would reflect projectiles into enemies I bc the same fashion as a murderous robot’s coin stash.
I'd have it give 2 summon slots and summon its own unique summon when equipped. So you would get a queen slime summon and one slot for other summon, the queen summon would do the ball attack and contact damage.

maybe you should be able to combine all these accessories for a mega passive damage accessory, leaving more slots for defensive accessories.

that would allow for what seems to be the intended use (creating a sort of bubble around the player against fodder enemies)
i dont understand why they cant just turn these worthless boss accessorie drops into materials so theyre actually usable. The only one of them that actually deserves a spot in the accessory slot is a shield of cthulu other than that its just a waste to equip them unless they start letting you combine them with other accessories.
Volitile Gel, Spore Sac, and Bone helmet can be semi useful in event farms due to the passive damage.
Change, buff. Should make extremelly high knockback.
this at least does *something*. royal gel is much worse , even if both are F tier
Personally, i believe it should release 8 projectiles to all directions, buff KB to 8 and make it able to be affected by buffs, however it only releases gel when taking damage
This accessory is not even close to the worst expert accessory in the game. This accessory is literally a godsend on huge Terraria servers. More damage is more damage.
Volatile Gelatin can be used while night fishing to keep enemies away without any need in using summon weapons.
The king slime drop is much worse slimes are friendly is so useless after you beat king slime
"For you mages : Use the meteor staff" my strange ass using Nimbus Staff, Corrupt Flame Staff, 4 minions, the forbidden gear and Orange Zapper to kill it with rapid hits due to over preparing in hardmode
For a normal playthrough, it seems like absolute trash. But if you are trying to do a "classless damage" playthrough it would be pretty useful. Use a flaregun with cursed flares(which also triggers the bone glove ability), and a full set of orichalcum armor, and then it should be a good combo.
Its actually pretty decent on summoner during the beginning of hardmode when you don't have much to fill your accessory slots. Fishing with it and summons makes the perfect middle ground as well where you likely wont get touched
I agree with this items use is just a fun gimmick, also did that same thing with a Gimmicky build of doing passive damage to all around me.
They had to balance how good crystal assassin armor is by making its main accessory trash lol
I used a combo on the Get Fixed Boi seed, wich was more pasive attacks for more crowd control.
I think it was Clorophite Armor, Spore Sack, That thing on the video, Brain of confusión and the important ones plus a summon.
It was some what usefull to me on that seed.
It should spawn a Ninja npc that sells the Ninja stuff and throwing stars

I set up a fishing build in prehardmode with everything I needed. I added the bone glove and helm to my fishing build
I think you wrong bc the queen bee expert mode drop is the worst

it should spawn two instead of one to increase crowd control. and increase the speed of the projectile itself a tad bit.
I wish the expert mode drops could be combined. Combine this and the royal gel into a new accessory, or the bone helm and bone glove. You never use most of them since you don’t have the space

i've personally never used any expert accessory that wasn't the Worm Scarf. Used a couple to make modded upgrades (like the Amalgamated Brain from Calamity), but almost never use the expert drops simply because of how useless most of them are.
hell, i even made a suggestion on the forums asking for ways to combine them lol.
tested them out when the mode first came out, but almost all of them are mid af (Royal Gel) or good but held back by the lack of combinations while also demanding an entire accessory slot (Shiny Stone, Soaring Insignia, etc.)
the Hive Pack is also entirely useless if you don't use any of the bee-themed weapons. I don't know why you can't combine it with all the bee accessories to make a bee-autiful one that does all the things better.
the Shield of Cthulhu isn't bad, but i constantly dash off cliffs by accident and avoid using it due to that.
I question the Megashark recommendation as, at least to me, Queen Slime is easier than all of the mech bosses so saying that to beat Queen Slime you should use a weapon created from a tougher boss seems odd to me
