  1. I think this video sums up my issues with MC to a good degree. A lot of the things I see in MC, which is why I slowly stopped playing and I played pretty much since year 1, is because all they started to add was just… fluff. There was no meaning behind it. It was just a steppingstone to get to another steppingstone to get to another steppingstone. The Netherite, as you said, is also now very easy to get cause, well lets be real, we got the data and know where to find it. Wool is easy to come by and its better than TNT mining for that stuff, sue me ITS BETTER AND YALL ARE JUST HATERS! Anyhow.

I started playing Vintage Story a while ago. And while the updates it has are also slow, the game has so much depth that you actually have to mod it to get rid of some of the tedium later down the line. Like, dont get me wrong, I LOVE it for how tedious it can be. But if I need to form one more clay shingle by hand just to finish the roof of a 6×7 house, I will actually jump off a bridge. Luckily, a mod exists to make that automatic and all I need to do is hold down right click. BUT I still have to do it. As in, I cant just skip making the bloody things, I still need to form them, fire them and craft them into blocks to use them for building. It all takes time and it all adds up.

Its a smaller part of the game for sure, but if I were to go indepth on how much other stuff there is to enjoy in this indepth wonderland, Id be sitting here for at least 5 more hours just detailing every single thing you can do and even have to do, regardless of gamestage. Early game is the same as endgame, just that endgame is easier since now you got metal over stone and can cook food over just chomping down on raw produce all the time. If any of you are bored with MC, please I urge you to check out Vintage Story. Someone once called it the "Minecraft for Adults". Not sure if I would agree entirely but its certainly more interesting to play and build in at this point in time.

Also we got Chisel and Bits literally as a base game mechanic.

  2. There’s a reason I like Stardew Valley honestly. It’s relaxing, simple, and addicting. Really gives me the old vibes I don’t get from Minecraft anymore.

  3. Most of the points mentioned that make the game easier, is actually the player's decision, you can sleep to make the game easier or not to sleep to make the game more difficult.

So don't act like the game is forcing you to sleep and do anything easy

  4. No offense but this video is ruined by the fact there are six unfunny edits and quips for every sentence. You have good somewhat points but Marvel movie humour. We don't need constant edits. Our attention span's aren't that low.

    "Well THAT just happened"

    "That's something I do now"

    "Is anybody else seeing this"

  5. They just need to Bring back the Xbox one Edition. I hate this new Minecraft. All it is. Is the mobile version but for console. Then the cross play crap is annoying. Including the stupid store crap. Like god I miss og Minecraft.

  6. This is why, I still play on 1.12 and have no reason to swap and sacrifice my mods that make it more fun the the actual updates.
Oh and Netherite update was dogshit. digging through normal world was kinda meh, but you get lots of ores. In Nethere's there's absolutly nothing of value. Plus Netherite upgrade doesn't do pretty much anything. Also if in order to increase to play time you need to make something 3 times more rare to find, instead of adding stuff, that's pretty garbage.

  7. I know this isn't often appreciated but the sound design of your videos is actually really good! It isn't over the top it feels like you've nailed it to a just right level.

That's hard to do so good job!

  8. Is it a spicy opinion to think that Mojang is kinda lazy, they take way to long for features to be added. Like the warden being anounced and than delayed, or the cave and cliffs update being split up and being bare bones as fuck due to being split into parts. The latest update also added nothing substansual to minecraft it added a cammel, another wood type that wasn't needed, a biome that is okay but just exists to be pretty and add another wood type and "chest boat", note all of these features have probably been in mod packs for years. Like the game just has somany empty or delayed promises, what the fuck is happening is Mojang becoming bethesda.

  9. trading for diamond armor does not make the game easier it just makes the game less tedious. Same with elytras does not really make exploration easier just less tedious. But the suggestions you made at the end of the video are amazing I would love to see harder mobs after the ender dragon and, structures that you could not explore before the ender dragon, different playstyles etc.

  10. i think the game is simply oversaturated with content. Older version of minecraft had that touch of loneliness in it but now you have loads of villages, incomplete nether portals, biomes full of richness, exotic mobs, wich makes many phases of playing simple or too flat, thus making it boring. These things by themselves are great or nice at least but they're just too common

  11. I thought it was satire at first because I have never before seen anyone say Minecraft isn't fun lol there is literally so much you can do. If you want the game to be harder, try hardcore or try speedrunning it. However, I did find your suggestions for improvement really cool and interesting! I would love it if Mojang added at least some of them.

  12. I think I'd argue that it most likely isn't fun anymore for some people because they built everything they ever wanted in Minecraft. I've never viewed Minecraft as a pure progression game or a game where the main objective is killing mobs or the Ender Dragon. To me the fun aspect of Minecraft was gathering materials to upgrade my currently materials, but more importantly gaining mats to build anything I ever wanted in terms of a house. I think diamonds/emeralds stacks are a very small aspect of the game, and I have no interest ever trying to kill that Dragon. It's just a really fun building game to me. I don't think it was ever intended to be a true PvM game, I believe the lack of mobs and simplicity of the mobs is intentional to give players more ways to die to rebuild.

  13. After watching this I want to share a story of mine:

Recently a few friends of mine suddenly got into Minecraft and invited me to a fun little PvP, rules were we had 1 minute in creative to prepare and then all out fight with 3 revives.

Problem was I hadn’t played Minecraft in a few years, meaning I instinctively got full diamond armour + gear, went for potions + gapples, and focused my enchantments on my bow creating something that might have resembled the good old Lucky weapons (from lucky blocks)

So I rushed into a fight against my full Netherite friends with crossbows, tridents, reviving totems etc. a bunch of new stuff I’ve never seen. I had to use water/lava buckets and ender pearls to stall them, resulting in a constant fighting retreat with good old fashioned bucket memes, relying on fire damage to win a battle of attrition……. which did……

I have nothing against my friends they only started playing Minecraft these few months, but postgame talks revealed they didn’t even know of these classic combat tactics and even though they teamed up to target me they got their ass kicked thinking Netherite gear would carry them (mind you I’m not good at PvP)

Anyways the message of this story is (to me at least) sometimes new and shiny things doesn’t mean it’s better than the old wisdom gained from sweat and tears. I still remember the days where you had to look up wiki to even know how to craft certain things but the knowledge I gained from it is an infinitely more fun and valuable experience than just scrolling through a recipe book. The struggle and strife we had to overcome in order to become stronger and better was the core of Minecraft, the journey of it all was much more important than the destination

That or maybe I’m too old for this game
