  1. Villagers are the most annoying, tedious thing in the game. I dont see why they think theyre overpowered. We can talk about overpowered when they nurf the warden

  2. The advantage of armour bought from villagers was that you didn't have to mine them (good for beginners who were scared). It was perfect for early game, just chop some spruce trees, sell the sticks and get armour. Now it makes no sense since you have to mine diamond anyway, so you can just get some more.

  3. Mixed feelings on these changes.

Yes, I get it, villagers are op, and having a trading hall makes other aspects of the game obsolete. I don't really mind the different villager biomes, sure it'll make things more challenging but I think it'll be fun to build villages in different places.

But the armor now costing diamonds…it makes sense but I'm still not a fan. I liked not having to pay diamonds for gear. Without a raid farm or something the gear isn't super affordable anyway. I'd say the biome splitting and enchantment nerf (both on the armor and librarians) are enough, at least for now.

My hope is that they either a) make diamonds more accessible somehow or b) make other places in the game to get good gear.

I do like how they made cartographers more useful. Hopefully we'll see more of that among the other villagers

  4. Great, now I don't feel bad about throwing villagers in the nearest lava pool 😓

Mojang seems to be on the "players MUST explore" band wagon – which is nice, but can the improve the travel mechanics because, to be honest, until your get the elytra, it's a complete pain in the … game to go more then a few hundred blocks. I'd like to see trail ruins get better loot, would make actually finding them worth while. While they're at it, maybe include some of the other structures!

  5. Villagers are already hard enough to work with. I'm in the middle of building a massive stacked iron farm + trading hall and if these features go into effect before I'm finished it basically defeats the purpose of all the work I've been putting into it. Literally no one wants this

  6. Awful changes. People use villager halls because the enchanting system doesn’t work. It requires way too many levels and is super inconsistent. To get fully upgraded gear, you’d need to make dozens of max level enchants just to get the books you need, and good luck combining all those onto a single tool without another 60 levels, or making it “too expensive”. Plus, the anvil repair feature has NEVER WORKED. it requires a ridiculous amount of levels, and becomes “too expensive” after just a couple repairs. That’s why everyone just gets mending and ignores repairs. Now are players expected to spend weeks grinding for good gear just to throw it away once it breaks? Wtf.

Before destroying trading halls, Mojang needs to rebalance enchanting. Make it easier to get specific enchants, and make upgrading Lower levels cheaper. Right now, a player playing “correctly” without XP farms or trading halls would need to spend literal weeks slowly leveling up in order to collect enough level 30 enchants. Plus, you need to be level 30 to enchant most things as combining lower levels makes stuff too expensive. With this system, a player who doesn’t grind and start a whole new set of armor from scratch will never be able to get the best enchantments.

  7. EXPERIANCE orbs are gathered for essentially spending time playing the game. By making villager stuff nerfed it makes me propose an idea: what if instead of spending levels to do stuff like combine armour and books, instead the fact that we managed to obtain multiple books and tools from villagers / other legit means around the world (that are not afking) would be evidence of us having gained experience playing the game, thus eliminating the anvil rule of TOO EXPENSIVE. By using currency such as emeralds and diamonds instead of experience orbs it makes the game more "progressive". It also helps make these "nerfs" feel a lot less counterproductive to gameplay.

  8. I understand the ideas behind the changes to villagers but they really need to make it one or the other. Either force players to have to scour their worlds for all the different biomes to get all the trades OR weaken the max enchantment level. Having the extra step of needing to combine things after is just such a waste when there is still the pointless limit on anvil uses.

  9. If Mojang wants to make us transport villagers thousands of blocks, GIVE US BETTER WAYS TO MOVE MOBS. Seems like they’re doing the opposite though, what with making horses useless as they can’t swim or cross water in boats (seriously wtf is up with that).

  10. I seen some comments about Superflat and Skyblock issues about the Armorer trade(Tool and Weapon Smith in the future)

The change is nice, but a fix would be for me that still in yhe spirit of the Devs mind would be Wandering Traders will sell a diamonds like 12-16 Emeralds for 1 diamond(can buy a total of 8)

  11. The “hrrrrrms” have infiltrated my dreams, I haven’t left my trading hall in so long…. What does the sun look like?

  12. Headcanon for the cartographers selling maps is either expanding a bit on the wandering trader's lore that he's sharing stories as he goes from place to place, or that there is some heretofore unseen secret villager type that's like a trailblazer or explorer, so rare that no one has ever seen one. 0.0

I know they're just adding a game mechanic, but it's something that can be slotted into world lore in an interesting way if you look at it just a little differently.

Those trading nerfs tho… whyfor does Mojang hate villager slavery so? I mean, is it so wrong to stuff them into tiny cubicles and put them to work for the rest of their lives? It's like they don't appreciate office culture.

  13. Does Mojang genuinely think this is a good idea? I'm actually in favor of biome specific trades, but this in not how to do them! Encouraging the player to explore to get good trades is good, but if they're going to add that additional grind to the process they need to make things easier on the other end, not harder! Reduce the grind of rerolling villagers (particularly librarians) by giving all biome specific villagers all of the trades for their biome. Make smiths interesting by adding new unique biome specific trades (on top of the essential trades!) for tool, weapon, and armor smiths. Give masons garenteed trades for each biome so you can grind new resources (sand trade anyone?). There are so many ways to do this right! Why aren't they doing them?

  14. I think the cartographer changes are cool, but can't quite get behind the biome based trades, and definitely not the nerf to enchantment levels.

  15. Im so so disappointed in Mojang, Its supposed to be a game where you can do what you want. These "rebalancing" is just forcing the players to do what the company wants. I hope this gets limited to hardcore cuz, its hardcore. Speaking of hardcore, they should really add that gamemode to bedrock as its available on many platforms unlike java.

  16. The biome-specific trades WOULD be interesting, if getting them was anything other than pure tedium. Like, we NEED a better way in Vanilla to acquire and move villagers. How much better would it be if you could convert a wandering trader to a regular villager of a random biome? It would give wandering traders much more use and it would be a way to get villagers from biomes you don't have good access to. Especially for people choosing to play on superflat or single biome worlds.

Also the idea of forcing people to bloat their file sizes in search of biomes in a notoriously ill-optimized game is incredibly short-sighted. Especially on consoles where you don't have access to the guts of your game files to trim things down when needed. Like, yeah, great, more maps! The things that are HORRIBLE for file sizes because y'all can't be bothered to optimize them! Great! I'm sure that won't cause any problems!

Guess I'm sticking to Java modded from here on out, cuz my Switch Bedrock version sure as hell ain't gonna handle this very well. 😛
