The Stardew Valley community is on crack, I swear. Poor Clint, bro. Dude's done nothing wrong. He is a lonely, socially inept guy living in a tiny village, Emily is probably the first woman he's ever been interested in. Of course he's going to come across as a little creepy. Give the guy a fucking break, damn. When he realizes she's not interested he backs off.
"Oh, but he stops being friends with her, so he was obviously just interested in her as an object." Or he just didn't want her to feel uncomfortable around him so he thought the best option was to avoid contact. Or any other number of reasons that isn't automatically malicious.
"But he keeps going after her when you're married to her!" Yeah, because it's part of his heart events, him asking you help with getting closer to Emily. It's obviously an oversight by ConcernedApe. I don't think that was intentional.
I realize people that play videogames as terminally as Stardew Valley players do are so distant to the concept of grass that it might as well be ancient legend only spoken of in fairy tales, but come on guys, get a grip. Clint is fine, and so are all the NPCs cause honestly none of them are bad people.

Vincent is a kid, Deme is a dude who'll shit on you for not calling a tomato a fruit, haley has a good chracter arc she goes from a mean girl to a humble one, Kent is a dude who came back from war, caroline gives you tea probably mixed in with a bit of coke.

PIERRE FUCKING STEALS FROM YOU. Gives you no credit for all the hard work you do to save their crumbling town. Lewis is a literal money launderer. He steals money for the town to make a golden statue of himself. Clint is a literal pewander, he's an entire generation OR TWO older than Emily. Demetrius gives absolutely nothing to the game besides the farm cave, is a shit father, threatens you and neglects Robin's first child and talks bad about Robin behind her back. Vincent is just an annoying snot rat and Kent sends you fucking bombs in the mail, he's borderline committing terrorism against you. Also Abigail is bland as fuck all she does is play video games and eats amethyst. Women in STEM you can't go wrong (I genuinely believe Maru is just a little Nuerodivergent coded and doesn't do a good job of communicating her care and other "personality" type dialogs very well), and Haley was just spoiled rich as a child and it affected her poorly. Also Alex was aboozed (I married all of them bc completionist) so cut him just a little bit of slack I promise that he's genuinely really sweet once you break through his insecurities.
