I wonder if you can use regression with temporal filtering for the labels of actions. Like press a button that says "I'm thinking of moving forward" and then vaguely think of moving forward and let an artificial neural network or a key point finding algorithm like used in slam to identify unique parts of the eeg signal then press a stop button to indicate you're no longer thinking of that signal and repeat for all actions. This may make it easier and more natural to your current associations instead of trying to force a novel association such as the cube moving around.
