  1. My wife isn't a gamer, but she really enjoyed the new animal crossing and was disappointed that it became so stale after a while. She's been stressed lately because of work, and I want her to enjoy the same escape gaming has given me from stress. I've never played Stardew, but I thought it would be a cool game for us to play together. We spent our first days on the farm wandering around pretty aimlessly (while still having a great time), so I told her I'd check out a few guides to give us some direction.

Every beginner's guide I've watched has been more of a cheat sheet on exactly what to do to have the most efficient playthrough, but yours is much gentler, and I feel like it's giving us the direction we need while not stripping away our autonomy to discover things for ourselves.

Very well done. I'm excited to play again tonight, and I think she's going to fall in love with this game.

  2. Just got the game myself, was pretty confused as there's so much thrown at you with a very limited tutorial. Thank you for this video, it makes starting this new game significantly less overwhelming.

  3. Pro tip: Hoard salmonberries every spring, cuz they're a great energy source for the mines in winter. They're free, they're abundant, they're satisfying to collect

  4. Showed this to my mum to help teach her to play it, she needed a game to relax for once and struggles to manage everything compared to the old ds mario games shes used to, this really helped to explain it to her and she loves the game ❤

  5. hey can someone who’s an expert at the game let me know what to do? i bought this game like yesterday and i chose the beach farm, not knowing that u cant use sprinklers, which would help me so much because even now having such a small crop watering my plants takes so much time and uses SO much energy. i will wake up with full energy and be left with a speck of it left just from watering alone. im on day 20 currently so it would be such a pain in the ass to start a new farm but i don’t know if i can deal with no sprinklers. should i just start a new different farm or will it be okay with no sprinklers once i get far into the game?

  6. Thanks for this video. I bought Stardew late last year after loving Animal Crossing and My Time at Portia, and I was looking for something similar. I just couldn't get into it because there wasn't enough guidance for me at the start. This video is a nice nudge in the right direction without being overwhelming and I'll definitely check out more of your Stardew videos as needed.

  7. Absolutely terrific video.
I'm so, so tired of game beginner guide's having a constant b-roll of late game content and chock full of spoilers.
This is minimalist and informative in the best possible way. Thank you!

  8. Maybe I'm wrong I'm on here too but I still don't have any upgrades on my Farm I'm concerned about the Silo I mean as I can't can I feed manually without needing the Silo also isn't it going to be a lot of extra responsibility taking up more time chance to get out of things done like the mines I still only have one sprinkler I haven't got far enough in the mines to get iron and seeing as it's expensive now I really have to pull my thumb out guess I could just get everyone's around prank 10 and then just forget about that then I can ignore them unless I have a quest that'll put my chatting needs out of the way I was debating between the Fishpond or some kind of livestock or the Slime hutch whichever will bring it in a steady income without needing to plant and wait also I'm trying to get all three trees in a line on my Farm but I'm not sure how to plant them properly I don't really understand the 8 tile thing that way I won't have to travel so far for my Tappers and some of them bundles I need the fruit but I chose the mushroom cave now I'm wondering if I made a big mistake the sooner I get those bundles done the sooner I can get around and get other things that I need definitely need to get the greenhouse ASAP but I was put thinking on other things get me fast transport is going to be handy unless forced of horse would make getting into the mines first ?
Sorry for such a long question became longer than I expected and any spelling mistakes I'm sorry

  9. I'm on day 15. This game tends to give me anxiety sometimes because I feel like I haven't done enough in those 15 days 😂 feels like real life, but knowing it's not is comforting

  10. Your forgot checking the TV every morning or evening otherwise you dont know whether your luck will be good or not, helps in mining and foraging.

  11. So I made two game files because I didn’t know which farm I wanted. I was surprised to find that the interior of the house/barn is also different. The forest farm has cute leaf wall paper and a little table, while the wilderness farm has little monster masks hanging on the plain walls and no furniture (besides the bed and tv). I’m now curious what the house interiors on the the other farms look like.

Also, is there any significance to the animal companion you choose at the start? Do the dogs help with herding or cats with foraging? Or are they just aesthetic?
