This is the 6th episode in a series about me and my friends beating Terraria in hardcore co-op Master Mode. Here’s the link to the playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NiN6zt1WrI&list=PLMu5xMPUv1HUNiTW5e5AYb3JAokmOZtFd
(the first few videos aren’t edited very well, but if you want to start from the start, then go for it.)

There was a huge amount of support in the comments for the last episode, so we are back at it with another one.

This episode is very long….
I honestly like the longer videos. It gives me more room for story telling, but if any of you think that the shorter format is better, let me know what you think in the comments. Would love to hear any feedback on it.

  1. I did hardcore for the first time recently. If you're wondering how it went:
1 – explosive trap pre-skeletron before I could get the mechanical lens
2 – cave bat on day 1 because I got stuck in a hole with no light or weapon lmao
3 – explosive trap post EoC
4 – explosive trap post EoC and king slime (fuck explosive traps)
    5 – beat the game

hardcore is fine as long as you play things safely, because you can never prepare too much. With over 2k hours in the game, if you feel like you can use a few more potions or a better modifier, take some time to get it. In most cases though, you can easily handle most bosses without cheese as long as you have the right gear. As you progress though, you'll start to encounter a few issues, and here's 6 tips that'll probably save a run.

tip 1: Shimmer is one of the most powerful tools in the game, and very easy to find if you learn how. Once you have basic gear like a musket, armor, hook, and hermes boots, head to the jungle side of the world and look for it. Shimmer does provide some unique items, but its most powerful trait by far is uncrafting. If you craft something with a bad modifier, you can keep recrafting it until it is perfect. It saves tons of money, allows you to nearly always have full warding, and will help you deal more damage by recrafting your weapon. Always make a cavern pylon at the shimmer as soon as possible
tip 2: immediately after finding the mechanic in the dungeon, buy a mechanical lens and keep it in your inventory for the rest of the game. You might be able to tough through boulders and dart traps, but explosives deal 500 base damage and are subject to terraria's random damage variation, so you probably won't survive explosives until you are post mechs with full health in the best case scenario. Until then, just explore carefully with pressure plates (or some other wiring device) in your hotbar, and light areas thoroughly.
tip 3: in addition to some wiring device in your hotbar, keep recalls too. Their animation is significantly faster than the magic mirror, and it saved my winning run after I had reached hardmode. Play things safely, and always recall if you fall below half health, or take a big hit from a strong enemy that can easily kill you in a few seconds (I would recall below 300 health in the latter case, as there are several enemies that can break the 300 damage threshold). It can be annoying to accidentally recall, but the nuisance caused by it is a lot less worse than restarting a run. If you have a surplus of potions, feel free to uncraft them at shimmer as well for some potion ingredients.
tip 4: hardmode biomes can be very dangerous, and knowing which ones are the biggest threat and which ones are safe to explore is incredibly helpful. At all costs, do not enter the hardmode underground jungle without 115+ defense or a hunter potion. Your biggest enemy isn't turtles, but angry trappers. They can move at high speeds through blocks, and can easily kill you before you can react if it's dark while mining. In my winning run, the hardmode corruption spawn overwrote the jungle and I tried to save the remaining ~20% by blocking it off with tunnels, but I nearly died to an angry trapper after only a few minutes of digging. In that case, it was genuinely safer to let the corruption take over the jungle, beat the mech bosses, grind for better gear and money, and buy a clentaminator. The underground jungle isn't the only threat, though. If there is a sandstorm, find some other way around the desert. If you want to go to the underground desert, make the same preparations as the underground jungle. If your desert gets corrupted or hallowed though, don't go there. Like, never again. It's basically gone and there's nothing worth your time in the desert biome in hardmode. If you want bast statues and the golfer, just get them before hardmode.
tip 5: tank builds are the best builds in the game. I'm sure you're already aware of that, but the only worthwhile classes are melee and ranger, and after mechs, you'll probably want to go entirely into melee. Most good armor sets are only for melee beyond that point. I would seriously consider forgetting set bonuses and just taking whatever grants the most defense at any given time, like the frost chestplate and leggings (very useful armor pieces in this run since they give good defense and damage very early on). Grinding perfect melee gear for 4 people will probably be difficult, so feel free to experiment with class hybrids or separate classes, but you should really avoid mage. Mage has way too little defense throughout the entire game, and doesn't out-damage melee or ranger at all. Summoner is a little bit better, but I wouldn't recommend it. A summon on top of whatever build you have won't hurt though, especially considering bewitching tables are now a permanent buff until death/reloading the world.
tip 6: build in the sandbox game. If you're grinding for something like frost cores and feathers in hardmode, surround yourself in blocks and attack through them/through a 1 block gap because the golem can't insta-fuck you that way. The same logic should be applied as much as possible to any other enemy encounter, or just when exploring in general. Block off tunnel entrances so enemies don't fall on your head, recognize which enemies can't attack through blocks and prepare when you see them, etc. Invalidating a source of damage entirely is the best way to not take damage, and most enemies just can't deal with blocks.

  2. I kid you not, when my brother and I played legendary mode he was pain, I was suffering. Whenever he does he took a shot… yeah he was drunk for the first time in his life that night😂 and he did it ON STREAM

  3. I just wanna mention this: you can actually die without dying you can do this by using home teleportation potion and if you time your death correctly with using the potion you will die but respawn without countdown, this happend while I was playing and maybe you could use it 👍
