How To Play Stardew Valley | A Beginner’s Guide



Hello Friends!

I’ve made this beginner’s guide on how to play Stardew Valley for any of you who have been thinking about trying out this great game, or have had a rocky start and are wanting to pick it up again. Or, maybe you just need a refresher!

I’ll be going over how to get started, the controls, everything you need to know or might have overlooked, and have filled it with some great tips and tricks to help you have your best start to the game. This is here to teach you how to get started in the first year with plenty of info for beginners and new players, as well as those of you who may have missed something on your first playthrough.

This guide is made with the 1.5 update and is recent as of the end of 2021. Onwards to 2022!

    Special 300th comment here. I’ll be honest, prior to this guide, I’ve had no idea what in Dessie’s name I was supposed to be doing in the game. This one is really going to help me out in my PC playthrough of the game, as I’m planning to purchase that and the mobile version of Stardew Valley literally tomorrow, which is Sunday by the way.

    Now, for the record, I’ll still be doing my personal hardcore playthrough utilizing the item ID glitch/exploit, since it’s still pretty darn tedious and frustrating to actually get what I want, never mind need, for the farm itself. The one mentioned prior was solely for the views on YouTube, since that’s what the algorithm recommends. If it weren’t for my obligation to make the world a good place again, I’d do the Joja run in a heartbeat. That’s also the problem with indie games: they present the same frustrating “challenges” that we once had to face with video games when we could be learning it on our own, and thus we’d have to consult outside assistance. We shouldn’t have to do this, we should just be able to boot it up and learn the ropes.

    Tips here, do not do everything at once like socialize,farming,foraging,mining,fishing

    Do it one by one daily because time flew super fast in this game

    For a few weeks, I've been getting these shorts Regarding Stardew Valley, and TELL YOU WHAT, I think I'm In love with this game, This exactly What I wanted, an Open free world, There's an economy, and It's an RPG style game, Oh boy! I just bought it, And was looking for on how to get started.. since I knew near nothing about the game and how thing works, I found this video and have been getting Started On my New World.     I love this game but I play on switch and don’t understand certain controls like moving objects and rotating. It kind of gets frustrating trying to place things on my farm

    I just dowloaded this game on switch this time. I'm having a hard time starting it. I restarted the game 2 times now and I feel so lost! glad I stumbled on this video!
